It's probably just me being visually challenged, but I can't seem to find the line ups for tomorrow anywhere. The Speedwayworld.tv site isn't correct - they're still showing AJ. And apparently Povazhny is out and Darkin in - but I can't find confirmation. Could anyone put me out of my misery so that I can complete my SWC programme? Ta folks.

World Cup Programmes?

It's on speedwayworld.tv. Just click on the WTC logo, and then go to the section marked Draws. There's two links- one for tonight and one for Monday. The draw was correct for tonight, but they still show AJ riding on Monday at the moment. -
Before my time, but he did indeed die early. I'm not certain, but I believe it had something to do with alcohol and I thinkhe became some sort of tramp/down and out. If I'm wrong, the masses will correct me.

World Cup - Vojens Sat 14 July
Bobbin' Along replied to Mad Mitch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Or Shieldsy. Thought the whole thing lacked class - again. I too was annoyed that common courtesy was again discarded - no pictures of the Finnish team, or any interviews before hand. Track was pants - again. My thanks go to Mr Olsen for once again stuffing up a perfect opportunity to put Speedway back on the map. Best bit was the look on his face when the Ozzies wanted the track looking at/watered - priceless. Strange how the Danes won last year on a similarly prepared Smellmead - and guess who was in charge of the track that night? Hmm The good news is that I don't think he'll be preparing the Cov track, and not even Olsen can screw up the Lezno track - we might even have some halfway decent racing in the run-off and the final. -
Still seemed too damn close to me. The numpty called Millard was wibbling on about the fact that they could have airlifted a bouncy castle to the track for tonight and then lifted it again to go to Lezno. Not sure why there wasn't one to begin with. As an aside - was it just me or was the track absolute pants tonight? And how happy did Olsen look when the Ozzies wanted the track looking at/watered?

Fantastic - saved me hours and hours of typing..... EDIT: Except you have Team GB in tonight's draw, and it's Denmark. Tried to change the heading to be told that it was a locked cell.... EDIT NO. 2: Been a bit of a pillock - Can see how it works now. -

I sincerely hope that he's not proud of it..... -
One of the stewards suggested that we Google the Millenium Stadium and then look at the forthcoming attractions - sometimes they're booked a year in advance and the site lists them. Haven't tried it yet. As it's always been in June, I can't see why it wouldn't be again. I know I have already tried booking hotels in June 2008 and they're fully booked already for the entire month - perhaps this is a hint?

Time To Drop The "bomber" Chris?

Fantastic link! Nice to see that the Germans didn't care after all - sorry to disappoint you, Mr Shovlar. Perhaps it's time to close this thread now. -
Just re-reading this thread. It appears that we were lucky. I saw absolutely no trouble at all and didn't even have my bag searched. I think it was because we were looking into the pits when the stewards stopped people coming in - I believe that the bag searches happened at that point and not going through the gate itself. A work colleague told me today her daughter was a first time steward on Saturday and she had to deal with a couple of drunken "yobs" (her term, not mine) who insisted on swearing at them. Hardly enough to get you thrown out of school these days. She said extra staff were drafted in at short notice because of the failed car bombs in London on Friday. I would still imagine that the level of rowdiness, hooliganism and fighting was far, far lower than at a footie match. And I only saw 2 policemen patrolling as well - the same as last year. Next year I shall be marketing pairs of my special rose-tinted spectacles, made especially to go with Shazzybird's t-shirts.

Yep - that was me! I had a sneaking feeling you may have been FairyTasha - having heard tales of your infamous Greg Hancock flag, which was firmly wrapped round your middle. You now make number 7 in my Forum Members I Have Met list! I really, really must get out more . Nice to meet you too! -
Cardiff Security!

Went in at Gate 2 - no checks at all on our bags. Mother in law had her water in full view. I think some of them were cold and wet and couldn't be bothered to do thier jobs properly! -
Where Are You Sitting?
Bobbin' Along replied to M08's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well Mini-BA kept blaming her dad, he was trying to blame the non-existant dog! I know that enclosed spaces make it worse - and having the roof on just compressed it - but it was revolting! At least none of my companions had halitosis - that would have been one smell to far... TBH - I thought first of all it was just a general miasma - lots of bodies etc. But then it became very obvious that it got worse when he stood up and then sat back again. The original stench was one of socks - teenage boys socks. You know, when the darn things try escaping from the room, desperate to get washed after 22 days solid wear? Then came the guffs. -

I'm being lazy and not reading the rest of the thread (I know,I know) but didn't he say the same thing a couple of years ago? His head wasn't in a GP place, or somesuch. It could just be a divertionary tactic, or it may actuallybe the truth. -
I've now been to all the Cardiff GPS - and after I said I'd never go to one 'cos I didn't want to put money into Ole Olsen's pocket! Anyhow - every year I say how it's been the best one yet, and this was no exception. I agree that bringing the riders in on their bikes was a bit pants. But I bless the genius who finally realised that speedway and rock music go hand in hand. Inspired! The pre-event "entertainment" if you can call it that - was second rate. Surely by now we could get some one decent? The first GP at Cardiff had the late, great Edwin Starr, and it's gone down hill from there - Suzi Quatro miming, some reject from Girls Aloud and Bonnie Tyler - I ask you! Apart from noxious fumes from a chap seated in front of me (see "where are you sitting" thread) I had a great time - my view was sometimes obscured by people standing up in front of me - but then that was because either Chris or Scotty were in the race. I had to wait unti after I came home and saw my video to see Bomber crossing the line in the final! Worth the wait though. The PA system near us was fine - and the announcer scored points as well, keeping the crowd up and going. Rumour has it he's the Eastie announcer - is this true? I always love the fact the there is never any trouble - the Poles have a great time and their fun is infectious. I think the only time I've ever seen any trouble is when a group of fans - from their flags they were Poles - decided to urinate off the 4th floor of a car park last year. Unhygenic certainly, but no one was knifed or shot or beaten up. The one question that foxed me all night - why did the stewards close the gates off just before the riders came out for their signing session? I can't remember them doing that in other years. When people were finally let in, it nearly caused a stampede up to the signing area. On the good side of things - no handbag searches. Perhaps they've realised that speedway fans don't throw bottles/glasses etc at each other - I managed to take a bottle of Irn Bru and a couple of cartons of orange juice in this time and mother in law didn't have her usual annual battle to take water in - she needs it for a medical condition and in other years has had to fight them to get it in. The track was no worse than I've seen it in previous years. Yes it's a shame because Parken had a brilliant track - I wonder why the track in Denmark was so special? Could it have anything to do with Mr Olsen being Danish? Hmm.

I went upstairs with Mr BA - only saw one stetson. And she was looking for the rest of you! Were you in the group by the window? When she went over there I wasn't brave enough to follow her, in case she thought I was some kind of weirdo! -

Terribly generous of you. I would have given Brenda 6/10 but only because Mr Bobbin's mouth kept dropping open. The lady has rather a large set of lungs..... Ray Quinn - since when did Eddie Munster start singing? How up his own bum was he? And crap with it IMHO Zilch from me. The Macdonald brothers - what can I can. At least they tried. Still, they should be able to get a franchise in their own restaurant chain. A poor 3/10. And don't get me started on Chas and Dave... Appalling. -
Where Are You Sitting?
Bobbin' Along replied to M08's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not only did I have the pleasure of seeing with the in-laws but I sat behind the smelliest man in the whole wide world. Every time he moved this sort of cloud came over and grabbed you by the nose. And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, the f*rting started. Dear God! He must have eaten a whole truck load of beans. Everytime he stood up (which was often as he was taking photos all the time) prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp. Every time he sat down (obviously - just as often) prrrrrrrrrrp. Poor little Mini-BA. Not only did she have to see AJ come off and feared the worst, she was a foot or so closer to the offending rear end. Politeness and not wishing to cause embarassment to the chap prevents me from telling you the exact seat I sat in. Just think - it could've been deadly had one of those fireworks come anywhere near us..... -

Had a couple of cheeky ones in the City Arms - a pub where lager tops and bitter shandies are exotic cocktails and the ladies loos has been squeezed into the cupboard under the stairs. Then onto teh POW. Wow. Nice place! Went to the POW to see if I could connect with certain ladies in pink stetsons, but only saw one. Who was looking for the others. And there was me wearing an overdose of pink to fit in! Maybe next time I'll arrange a time to pop in and meet them all. I'd heard rumours of hard drinking, so presumed they'd be there all day, but they certainly weren't between 2 and 3. -

Mental picture there of you speaking to everyone under a brolly. I would have given you a hint - mine has Tigger on it. Should narrow it down a bit.... You know Lupus? Blimey. She always calls me her dark half, but of course, I'm much, much better looking. Oops - said that out loud didn't I.? <runs away> <runs away very fast...> -
