  1. I tried my best but 10 heats of a foregone conclusion was enough for me I think it was the fake enthusiasm of Kelvin Tatum that did it for me
  2. Why is it that Eurosport presentation is amateurish compared to what it was like on Sky. Watched for the first time when the play off semi was rained off. It sounded like all the presenters were on helium Then the Ipswich v Belle Vue was much the same with a meeting so tedious I switched it off after 10 heats This meeting is so one sided that it won't be long before I am turning it off again I don't think I will be taking up Euro-sports offer to renew
  3. Hope it is coming soon as mine has been ordered 2 weeks ago. Recently, my son left a phone message to the publisher asking the reason for the delay. I asked him today if he'd had a reply and he said not. He suggested I came on here to enquire. I do think it would be more appropriate to put a date on the speedway star advert rather than 'coming soon' as that can extend to infinity.
  4. Why is it they don't publish GP information anymore ?
  5. Speedway is in decline because most of the people in the country don't want to go to watch it.
  6. Perhaps they've been rained off and the rearranged meeting will take place at a later date
  7. I know what you mean. We went to Bradford for a couple of seasons after Halifax closed. It was never the same and with the meetings being on a Friday night, eventually, we just stopped going.
  8. They should all leave together and set up their own system. Where there's a will there's a way. If the will is not there then things will continue as they are to their natural conclusion, whatever that may be.
  9. Said it before, I have been involved in the Polish community for forty years and have only met one person, in all that time, who was a speedway fan.
  10. I think the article confirmed the FIM doesn't do much for speedway. I think they should have left the FIM years ago and said so years ago
  11. I would think that Polish speedway doesn't have the remotest interest in really developing any riders, to world class status, other than their own. On the other hand they may well be totally dedicated to ensuring that international speedway continues to blossom and will work hand in glove with the FIM and all the other domestic speedway authorities to make sure individual and team world champions come from any involved country. As they say time will tell.
  12. We will have to accept that speedway has come to the end of the road when it comes to being regarded as an international sport. It will become a sport that will be regarded as something Polish motorbike riders do. But you can't knock them for looking after their own interest. Doesn't matter how long this thread goes on for it won't change the natural outcome of their diktats
  13. Don't blame them at all. They have a firm grip on the sport, they saw their chance, took it and will never let it go All the rest is gravy
  14. Poland doesn't have much use for EU law only when it does something for them As the Polish President said 'if the EU think they are going to tell us what to do they can think again'. That was something to do with an environmental issue I believe
  15. Poland wants to monopolise speedway and make it their very own sport. They want to guarantee they will win everything all the time. What happens to speedway elsewhere is irrelevant to them It has been said that the New Zealand All Blacks represent what NZ is Poland doesn't have a great deal to shout about on the world stage. Speedway can become Poland's All Blacks. After all it is known as The Black Sport in Poland
  16. Donnie without a shadow When it's the choice twixt two non entities it's Donnie every time They only way for people to wake up and smell the coffee is to get their noses rubbed in it till they open their eyes and see the light And if it's too late, when they do open their eyes, then they will have reaped what they have sown
  17. Speedway has changed and you either embrace that future or you walk away from it It was and is an insular sport and that insular state is choking the sport to death
  18. Kemp should get his chance. The opportunity to take his game to another level. He says he wants to 'be there'. He can 'get there' in this tournament. If youth is the future they have to start somewhere, Go for it Drew!!!!
  19. That's the point 'Let's face he would never get a better chance and yet he was still a poor second'' I think he realised belatedly that he missed a golden opportunity and I do believe he will drift further away from it as time goes by And by the same token I think that Bartoz, and the people around him, understand the situation with the opposition and realise he could win 4 or 5 titles on the trot thereby adding credence to the plaudit of 'greatest rider of all time.' It's easy done as old Brucie used to say 'if you play your cards right'. I think he will make the great attempt to do so.
