  1. Good to hear Emil has got out of that relatively unscathed, really horrific accident. When you have a flat out track like Sheffield with a dirt line literally less than a bike length from the fence, there is no room for error or no time to correct the bike, Chris Holder was in the same position earlier on in the meeting. Heat 15 was a classic up until the crash, main thing is Emil and Bomber appear to be okay, which above all else is all that matters.
  2. Cracking meeting, track well prepared all things considering....Bomber is still Bomber.
  3. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c80xk2ze19yo Dozens of firefighters from two counties are at the scene of a "large barn fire" at a stock car racing stadium. The blaze broke out at about 17:31 BST on Tuesday at Mildenhall Stadium, Hayland Drove, West Row, in Suffolk. Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was in a storage unit containing machinery. No injuries have been reported. In a post on Facebook, external, firefighters advised people to avoid the area. Brandon Fire Station posted on social media, external to say crews were "working hard" to bring the fire under control. It said firefighters would remain on scene overnight
  4. would of thought Brummie fans would of been happy for there promoters, saved them air fare, guarantee/points money....can see this being pretty boring to watch, dust clouds by heat five, nice blue groove, gate and go.
  5. Mark Lemon, you had one job all night, just one job.....so picks gates 2 and 4 in the final, absolute shocker.
  6. The only real permanent track in the UK that can hold such an event, for racing it is head and shoulders above any other viable venue. I doubt Belle Vue will be out of pocket to any great degree or if indeed any, the FIM would of been involved financially....why do folk look and try to find the negatives in a event that was well run, entertaining and finished with a win for Team GB...for me a great advert for British speedway. On here i often read about the glory days and how speedway was better in the day, SON is head and shoulders above the best pairs events in those days.
  7. Thank you for all the replies regarding recording etc, much appreciated.
  8. I never knew that!...does it show the whole meeting or just the highlights?..
  9. can you record the speedway off of the Discovery+ channel?
  10. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery young man...I can only imagine you are going through the ringer right now, but try and stay positive.
  11. Just the usual gate and go Poole track, shame really as soon as the riders went looking for any resemblance of grip or dirt it just wasn't there.
  12. any bookies taking bets on which heat the blue line will appear?
  13. it was great to watch a so called throttle jockey in action....and to top it off he's British as well. Great meeting and a great advert for British speedway.
  14. ruined by a stupid rule...no way should Nicholls of been excluded in the super heat, there was at least one other who moved as well...
  15. absolutely no problem with the format or venue....try stopping to find fault with something that is a credit to British speedway.
  16. so just how many teams in the SON have four out and world class riders?
  17. its funny because I came away from last nights meeting thinking we had a good balance of British riders right now...some really promising youngsters and also some "seniors" for them to learn off......when you think of some of the doom and gloom around the sport, thought last night was quite refreshing.
  18. any reason why Wright kicked out at Bewley after the race had finished?
  19. People moaning about the venue, by far the best we have and is a fair track for all riders...was going to use the phrase more lines but that's awkward in speedway!...give me a meeting at Belle Vue than anywhere else in the country, its a racers track and not just a gate and go. Also lets not forget the history of the British final, it wasn't always a spectacle at Coventry, far from it, crowds were good but that was mainly due to speedway being in its prime....we now have a track that provides entertainment, lets not forget that because above all else it's the main ingredient the sport needs.
  20. Looking just at the Premiership league, I fail to see just how some of these clubs can make it pay, fair play if they do but when you hear what some of the riders are on there's only way it is going to end. Some of the teams owners are business men and may see speedway as just an expensive hobby but as a business model speedway is a good way to lose money! Many teams chase the golden goose to lay the golden egg, but the feed for the goose has a huge cost and probably not sustainable over a period of time..
  21. Freddie over 10 @ 2.05...."IT'S CHRISTMAS".
