Sheffield vs Ipswich 2024 Cup Final Sept 2nd
Odds On replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
why cant some people just get their head around that losing Doyle and Emil IS irreplaceable?....and as the late Sinead once said "nothing compares". Some(not all) Sheffield fans cannot even win with a slight bit of dignity and class, you got lucky with racing against a very unlucky opposing finalist, its sport it happens. The final could of been a cracker with both teams at full strength. -
Riders that sorted problems out!

There's a discussion on the forum about dirty riders on the track. Here's one about riders that didn't necessarily sort the problem out on the track but off of it. Riders that were harder off of it than on it. Carl Stonehewer chasing a rider with a shovel. Stan Bear climbing a seven foot fence to get at someone who was giving his mrs grief.

The most dangerous riders
Odds On replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
a lot of people think that because rider B fenced rider A and it is clear as day in their memory, they classify that rider B as a dirty rider....now it may be just a case of where rider A had fenced or been over hard on rider B at some during their career....some riders have very long memories or even a notebook in the tool box....old saying of what goes around comes around. Mike Sampson, Matousek, Nicki and Ronni Pedersen, Phil and Jason Crump, Gollob and all the riders listed on this discussion can/could be hard when the time was right.... However there are many riders you wouldn't go round the outside of -
Sheffield vs Ipswich 2024 Cup Final Sept 2nd
Odds On replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Track was as poor as the Ipswich performance. Gotta feel for Ipswich, no matter which speedway team you support losing two of the best riders in the league then no matter what guests you bring in you will never have the same points scoring or the same team spirit within the camp. Think we all know that Ipswich with a full team would of kept it to around a maximum of 10 points last night, if anything they did well to keep it to 20. Fair play to Sheffield they can do no more than they did and will win the cup convincingly. -

Ipswich vs Sheffield 19/8/24

I like Kelvin but works best when he can "bounce" off of someone on the commentary, think he works better with Chris Louis than Ollie Allen, maybe use Allen in the pits instead of Abbie. -

as expected a easy win for Tigers. Any team losing their top three will more often than not get beat, no matter who your guests are, Batchelor was a poor choice of guest from the get go. Thought the presentation on Eurosport was very poor, in general i enjoy their coverage of it, still don't see what Abbie brings to the show, having someone in the pits interviewing riders needs someone with a rapport with them, ideally a rider or retired rider, currently with Abbie there is no banter, there is no meaningful interviews, no real insight as to what goes on in the pits, Scott Nicholls should be doing what she does. -
Crowd looked slightly down on last year. Track was poor, not bad but not great for a racing spectacle. FIM and the debacle to see who had qualified, just shows how poor of an organisation they are. Really pleased for a GB one two.

Sheffield v Ipswich 8th August
Odds On replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good to hear Emil has got out of that relatively unscathed, really horrific accident. When you have a flat out track like Sheffield with a dirt line literally less than a bike length from the fence, there is no room for error or no time to correct the bike, Chris Holder was in the same position earlier on in the meeting. Heat 15 was a classic up until the crash, main thing is Emil and Bomber appear to be okay, which above all else is all that matters. -

Birmingham v Sheffield - 22nd July

would of thought Brummie fans would of been happy for there promoters, saved them air fare, guarantee/points money....can see this being pretty boring to watch, dust clouds by heat five, nice blue groove, gate and go. -

The only real permanent track in the UK that can hold such an event, for racing it is head and shoulders above any other viable venue. I doubt Belle Vue will be out of pocket to any great degree or if indeed any, the FIM would of been involved financially....why do folk look and try to find the negatives in a event that was well run, entertaining and finished with a win for Team GB...for me a great advert for British speedway. On here i often read about the glory days and how speedway was better in the day, SON is head and shoulders above the best pairs events in those days. -
