Odds On replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Swindon do have a BAGS contract, they are the money spinners for stadiums. -

Live Match Streaming For Armchair Fans?
Odds On replied to heathen chemistry's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
simple solution put the cost to view at £20, that way the club gets the original entrance fee(£17) and the broadcaster gets £3, the viewer saves on petrol etc...everyones a winner....most speedway venues are leased to the speedway promoter so they wont miss that secondary spend by the supporter in the bars/food outlets....they could also produce an electronic programme for fans to download on line per meeting. -
spot on and anybody who thinks the American kid can sustain or better a 5pt average should wake up and smell the coffee. going to the likes of Pboro and Sheffield will scare the hell out of him!..maybe a sick note for those away days!

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?
Odds On replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Excellent post and hits the main problem on the head...£15-£18 for 15 minutes of entertainment is disgraceful, add to that you stand out in all elements and we all know that the first few races are processional and in some cases all 15 races are processional, any sign of bad weather and the riders don't want to ride as they have another fixture in another Country to ride in. Speedway isn't worth £15-£18 a meeting, the only way this can be changed is to reduce costs, riders wages etc. -
Klindt is no real loss and will do well to last the season at Leicester, after following him on Twitter I have always thought of him being the hard done by sort of guy with a chip on his shoulder.

Heavens knows Im miserable now! -
I think that some people look at individual instances and then label that rider as being dirty, whilst it is more probable in a lot of instances that it is little more than pay back time.

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?

Most riders don't know what day of the week it is, imo their pay is very good, compare it to the average mans pay cheque. -

now this is where speedway is well and truly stuck in the dark ages, it isn't rocket science but when riders pay cheques are more than what comes through the gate on a race night then the promoter, track, speedway is fekked, riders are a bigger part of the problem as anything. The riders know the dangers of the sport when they first enter it but lets be honest when a rider can earn more in one night than the average man earns in two weeks then there in lays a problem, sadly the average rider only works 7-8 months of the year. -

speedway has many problems some are self inflicted and some are out of its control. Riders need to realise that the people who pay their wages(promoters) can only pay what is coming in through the turnstiles, this then relates to how the sport can be more attractive to youngsters, most promoters are often chasing their tales in terms of finances and in turn cant really promote the sport. Riders who want £100 a point, flights, van etc etc should look closely to what they are riding in front of on a race night, its not rocket science to realise that they are gradually killing the golden goose that is laying the golden eggs for them. -
Phil Morris wasn't dirty just out of control. I enjoyed watching Ronni Pedersen, never had him down as vermin but guess some people see things differently.

Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News
Odds On replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
didn't Wimbledon FC go bust hence why Peter Winkleman and co bought them outright and moved the franchise to Milton Keynes, so what has changed to make them more viable, surely with all the other football teams in and around London times will be even harder for them. -
Should Roscoe Step Down As Gb Team Manager ?

but is Rosco the sharpest knife in the drawer?......but would have either Screeny or Havvy in the pits for motivation. -
Should Roscoe Step Down As Gb Team Manager ?
Odds On replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
how about a team manager with a bit of British passion about them, Screeny, Havvy or even Scott Nicholls, would rather have any of them than a team manager who comes across as being more important than the riders themselves. -
really good to se everyone talking about what sort and how many seats this new stadium will hold, was thinking the very same thing at Milton Keynes and then Reading back in the days.

cant believe Swindon haven't re-signed Batch, he has shown great loyalty and dedication to the Robins, he deserves better than this from Rossiter and co. -
Patience!.......ask Reading fans if they have any patience, ask Milton Keynes fans if they have any patience and ask Bristol fans if they have any patience. I agree with you about all will be revealed in fullness of time, trouble is most peoples patience will have run out by then!

for those doubters about a new stadium being built, Alun has spoken. So all is good.

so the farewell meeting wasn't actually a farewell meeting! -
dates met!!!?....put it this way, I think a few dates are behind schedule in Reading and Milton Keynes as well!
-
anybody can apply for planning permission etc...the biggest hurdle is finding someone to fund the building and completion of the drawings!!...so in lay mens terms, its all a load of bollox until the they start building!

and there in lays the main systematic problem of Rye House, waiting for left overs from the table, isn't it about time we were sitting on the main table and passing on our left overs?
