  1. I can see this being pretty close tonight, and if we drop more points tonight, then I guess we are kissing goodbye any hopes of a play off place.
  2. Well I shall be going this week since I'm doing texts for the updates site. Hoping for an entertaining evening, but not with to much action to report on.
  3. So at Somerset its blackbird at 4 and rr at 1? And I would have thought it's bacon that's telling the truth.
  4. Well let's hope it's not the 7.30 option, cos that is very bad pr,
  5. Rr for our number 1and blackbird at 2 would be my option. The rest should be able to cover Ritchie average of 7.4. Blackbird has been worth plenty of points on his visits. Masters at 1 and rr at 2 would produce same amount of points, so much of the same to me.
  6. Blackbird is a better option at 2 and rr at one, surely our other 6 riders can manage 7.4 points between them.
  7. Apparently Ritchie isn't that great at Somerset, so a guest may just do better, but like Somerset at our track, we are normally just as poor at their track, so wouldn't fancy us for any point's whoever was riding. Thursday though is a different story, gino will be a big miss. Surely after one good showing last week our reserves will be our trump cards this week, and if not, then I think the saying is, you reap what you sow.
  8. We have had more meetings than most of those teams as well haven't we?
  9. Berwick won away on their travels today, beating a team we couldn't beat at home a couple of weeks ago. Maybe Berwick do have enough fire power to maybe get a point. Can we really afford to drop anymore points at home?
  10. Don't think this match looks interesting enough to tempt me back this week.
  11. With kus at reserve they may just about have enough to keep the score reasonably close.
  12. On his first visit to Ipswich a few years ago, he was nearly unbeatable at Ipswich, so not why he can't race it now. Maybe he has just got to used to the flat out tracks like Somerset.
  13. Well I actually think this will be the first time in 38 years that I am choosing not to go. All speedway clubs rely on the die hard fans, but this one has had enough.
  14. Exactly, and I'm deciding to spend my entertainment money doing something else this week.
  15. Well for the first time in i don't know how many years, through my own choice , I'm not going. And I'm not sure I will be back this season either. I shall see how I feel about Ipswich speedway week by week.
  16. Let's hope he doesn't need any more motivation, it would be nice to see him mixing it up against our riders, cos that's what we pay our money to watch. I certainly don't get any pleasure watching a rider trundling round at the back way behind anyone and then giving after after a few laps. So come on Todd, let's see what you can really do and make me eat my words, cos that's what we want to see.
  17. Win or lose, I don't suppose it really matters, as long as the racing is good. I think i have just finally worked out that it's about entertainment.
  18. Luckily for Ipswich, Somerset have Todd Kurtz, probably one of the worst visiting riders ever to foxhall, normally half a lap behind at least., but now I've said that, he will probably score a hat full. The last time Somerset visited, they really struggled with the very grippy track, so you would like the think it will be prepared like that again, but will it? Since no change has been announced to our line up, no surprises there, I hope that both Cameron and Adam have had some track time somewhere to work on these starting, and the rest of the team have re read the rules about waiting for the tapes to go up before letting the clutch out fully.
  19. I don't suppose any of this really matters, cos I for one don't see any changes happening as usual. And as for Mr spanners real league, we shall probably drop some more points yet, so is it worked out without us dropping anymore points?
  20. It would cost extra money though getting in a rider that scores more points, and I think that's been the issue at Ipswich for many years. I just don't think they have the money or are willing to spend the money to do what's needed to challenge at the top season after season. It's not just Ipswich that are like this though, I would say three quarters of the teams probably don't have enough resources to keep their teams competitive. Until the leagues are properly sponsored and money can be made from winning the league and league finish positions, like a lot of other sports, then I can't see it changing.
  21. Your right we don't own a number one. Will we finish in play offs, at the moment that doesn't look likely unless we pick up points away. Super blue said does Chris Louis really want to be successful, to be honest I think he does, but will he do what's needed to bring success? I think probably not. Now there in lies the difference. Being successful will probably keep the gate at a sustainable level, but it probably costs more. At the end of the day the books have to be balanced, and is their really any incentive to put out a winning team? The way I see it is this, if the promotion can make a little profit with the current amount of punters through the gate, then we will carry on as we are, if not, then we won't.
