Alan_Jones replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The 8th Rocket, Jason Doyle, guests for Charlie Gjedde and Ben Morley for Jason Garrity. Stefan Nielsen has a busy evening as he replaces Garrity for the Raiders against the Islanders. -
It's 72 hours.

...so Simon Lambert's a Rocket again... http://www.ryehouse....After-All!.aspx
-
Simon's current average (listed under Leicester) is 5.19 which replaces Ritchie's 5.38, so no problem there.
-
It's 4 & 4.

Amazingly, Len has done the sensible thing and signed 18yo Dane Kasper Lykke Nielsen on recommendation from Charlie Gjedde. Even more amazingly, he's been signed on condition that he rides in the rest of this season's meetings to start 2013 with a real average. Full story at http://www.ryehouse....n-New-Dane.aspx

Wasn't he seen at Malilla during the World Cup?

He came out a couple of times later on and normal service was resumed - smooth and fast as usual. -

Saturday's AJL match at Rye House was 3 rider teams over 4 heats, which we were told was allowed under league rules as well as the 4 rider/6 heat format. -
That's the normal way, but Len does it his way. Probably still can't find the headed notepaper either...

With Shane Hazelden and James Sarjeant committed to the re-staging of the U21 semi at Stoke, Ritchie Hawkins and Jason Garrity are 'promoted' into the Raiders team in order to "test equipment". Rye House : Tom Braddock, Luke Chessell, Jason Garrity, Ritchie Hawkins, Nick Lee, David Mason, Ben Morley. USA Future : Dylan Black, Mike Buman, Aaron Fox, Russell Green, Gino Manzares, Brad Pappalardo, Bryce Starks. To be followed by Milton Keynes Knights v Coventry Mercia Vikings in the MDL.

I like Len's reasoning, "“We looked at the available pool of riders available in the market to plug Lee’s sudden absence, but they just did not tie in with our objectives with the Raiders, so we are aiming to turn to one of our own.” You might say that, I couldn't possibly comment...

Lee Strudwick now unable to afford his comeback having been made redundant, so they're going with three training school graduates instead of two.

... and Leigh Lanham as temporary cover for Nelson, having made a mess up of his visa application!

The fixtures are now up on the BSPA site.

A Sad Anniversary For London Speedway

Don't be silly Norbold, that would never work... -
This is a discussion that could get very messy. You emphasise track, but do you mean track or stadium because I doubt that there's any track in current use that hasn't been changed substantially from its original size and or shape. Track 1st Meeting Original Current ----- ----------- -------- ------ Wolverhampton 30th May 1928 329yds 264m Birmingham 12th July 1928 380yds 292m Belle Vue 28th July 1928 400yds 285m Coventry 29th September 1928 352yds 301m Sheffield 30th March 1929 442yds 361m Newcastle 17th May 1929 440yds 300m Eastbourne 5th August 1929 352yds 301yds Above info taken from the 2nd edition of "Homes of British Speedway".
