Er, 7.81. If you're confused by the ** a glance at the key at the top of the page will tell you that it's to show that the rider is listed in hierarchical order where riders have apparently the same average.

Elite League Draft Riders
Alan_Jones replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We don't know. He may well have turned it down due to school/German commitments as with most Young Stars away matches, or may even not be happy with the points money. Can't see him having been frozen out for the sake of 3 weeks. -
Apart from a couple of riders, an uninspiring team, way under the limit. Did Len Silver have any input into team selection?

Very much doubt that Len would sell at a price that BV could afford. -

The PL shouldn't be a training ground for failed EL riders.

Because they are already assets of their EL teams.

The PL should be helping to sort the s##t that the whole sport has got itself into. The leagues can't operate in isolation but they constantly seem determined to try to. -
No.1 at Scunthorpe. Good rider, good track, good luck.

Claret's what you find on the pavement outside a Dorset pub after locally based speedway people have a night out.

I hope Anders and a decent reserve are still available when Ed's average drops and Boxall goes missing. I'm afraid it's time for Ben to look elsewhere for his PL experience because it's obvious that Len is never going to trust him away from home.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
Alan_Jones replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
As a long time 2nd & 3rd division supporter I have to say how disappointed I am at the outcome of the AGM. We've been saying for years that we don't want the EL needlessly embroiling the PL in their problems but this time around the PL promoters seem to have made their own efforts to alienate the fans and possibly have an adverse effect on the EL & NL. The EL lose the Mickey Mouse PYO opponents idea and the PL bring it in. The prospect of seeing Ipswich, Somerset & Plymouth 3 times each at Rye House doesn't thrill me, as good as those teams may prove to be. For whatever reason, the EL have addressed the young British rider development problem but the prospect of all but the very best NL standard riders having to leapfrog the PL and go straight into the EL is a worry. The only way for those riders to address that situation will be to treble up which leads to all sorts of rider availability/guest/R/R issues. I dread to think of the sort of rules being dreamt up to 'solve' those potential problems. The EL have a workable quick-fire play off system which works while the PL stick with the unwieldy mini leagues and, thanks to the extra league matches, have less time to fit them in. Add to that lot the dogs breakfast of a Rye House team just announced and I shall be a bit more choosy when I attend. Thankfully, a change of hours at work means I'll be able to get to see 'my' NL team, which was kidnapped and held hostage at Sittingbourne, for the first time for a while. -

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
Alan_Jones replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
"The 6 & 7 will have TWO programmed rides only; both against the opposing team's 6 & 7..." is incorrect. "The Elite League race format will be altered to hand these riders two races against their opposing reserves instead of one, and easier outings against rival second strings" was what Jon Cook said. Is no-one paying any attention? -

The '1 lap dash' was in vogue for a season or so in the 80s with riders rotating gate positions for each of 4 laps, but the novelty soon wore off. -
No Sky Or League Sponsorship Money Etc...
Alan_Jones replied to Phil's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Of course the Elite League should consist of elite riders, in the same way that in the Gulf Oil British League the bikes ran on petrol and in the Sunbrite League they were coal fired. Unfortunately, finding enough prime ministers to fill the Premier League is still proving problematical... -
I'm not a Kent supporter, I don't want him anywhere near Rye House...

Pay Steve Boxall vast sums of money to stay at Sittingbourne.
-
It was common knowledge at the time.
-
Spot on, and despite the constant clamour to "Bring back second halves" people still leave in (comparative) droves straight after the main match, and that's in addition to those that have already left before heat 15!

It was a new bike he was testing.
