  1. As a long time 2nd & 3rd division supporter I have to say how disappointed I am at the outcome of the AGM. We've been saying for years that we don't want the EL needlessly embroiling the PL in their problems but this time around the PL promoters seem to have made their own efforts to alienate the fans and possibly have an adverse effect on the EL & NL. The EL lose the Mickey Mouse PYO opponents idea and the PL bring it in. The prospect of seeing Ipswich, Somerset & Plymouth 3 times each at Rye House doesn't thrill me, as good as those teams may prove to be. For whatever reason, the EL have addressed the young British rider development problem but the prospect of all but the very best NL standard riders having to leapfrog the PL and go straight into the EL is a worry. The only way for those riders to address that situation will be to treble up which leads to all sorts of rider availability/guest/R/R issues. I dread to think of the sort of rules being dreamt up to 'solve' those potential problems. The EL have a workable quick-fire play off system which works while the PL stick with the unwieldy mini leagues and, thanks to the extra league matches, have less time to fit them in. Add to that lot the dogs breakfast of a Rye House team just announced and I shall be a bit more choosy when I attend. Thankfully, a change of hours at work means I'll be able to get to see 'my' NL team, which was kidnapped and held hostage at Sittingbourne, for the first time for a while.
  2. "The 6 & 7 will have TWO programmed rides only; both against the opposing team's 6 & 7..." is incorrect. "The Elite League race format will be altered to hand these riders two races against their opposing reserves instead of one, and easier outings against rival second strings" was what Jon Cook said. Is no-one paying any attention?
  3. The '1 lap dash' was in vogue for a season or so in the 80s with riders rotating gate positions for each of 4 laps, but the novelty soon wore off.
  4. I'm not a Kent supporter, I don't want him anywhere near Rye House...
  5. Pay Steve Boxall vast sums of money to stay at Sittingbourne.
  6. It was common knowledge at the time.
  7. I like the Speedway Star Match of the Week feature, they only give the Rebels an 18 point lead. Still too much though.
  8. Olly was finding some drive out near the fence early on but later just went spectacularly backwards so the dirt went somewhere. Most of the passing was over in the first half lap when the Rebels missed the gate. Despite what the Trees' of this forum think the NLRC was an exception and the racing in the last month or so at Rye House has been excellent. Heat 15 last night was fantastic though despite the result...
  9. Surely he was talking about himself and the bikes going to Pardubice for the U21 World Cup Final this Saturday wasn't he? The last press release said he was trying to get a late flight so that he could race at the OTA.
  10. I don't know what's planned for this Saturday, but the second half of the Cup Final meeting on Sunday 6th is due to be the MDL Championship Final between Milton Keynes and Belle Vue.
  11. Probably both airfence related. There's a lot of work to be done to move the fence out to accomodate the airfence and it's probably eaten up the firework budget and more.
  12. SR 4.1.6 uses the same form of words as on the Rider Registration form beginning "All Riders and Officials are required to conduct themselves..."
  13. Didn't Craig say Luke was riding in the Silver Ski Holidays individual meeting after talking about the Wimbledon match? That's the way I heard it anyway, although I was talking at the time...
  14. If there are no chocolate bars on the shelf or they keep turning up damaged then the customer does want to know what's going on. If we kept turning up to find lots of good quality chocolate bars then I'm sure all but the career whingers that no longer eat chocolate would be happy.
  15. Sadly no, judging by this quote from the TM in the post-match press release, “Jason had a practice at Sheffield last night and felt OK afterwards, only to wake up this morning with more pain than before. I would have to say that he is highly questionable for either match.” Can't disagree with that.
  16. Not the Rockets finest hour and a half, but at least not the worst performance of the night...
  17. You're probably right. Ben managed to find his way to Redcar last night to get two paid seconds from four for Glasgow.
  18. For whatever reason, Ben doesn't do northern away matches. James Sarjeant is the usual choice. Coincidentally, Ben has tweeted within the last hour "Guest bookings??"
  19. Bates rode for the Rockets at Leicester and tonight he rides for the Monarchs.
