You obviously had the full editor then. You need to select the font before typing your text, or highlight the required text and then change the font.
-
You need to make sure you're using the full editor, with all the bells & whistles at the top, and set the font to "Courier New", which is the only fixed width font available.

If what Peter Adams said tonight is correct, then there could be some team changes coming up. He said that the August averages will be recalculated without points scored in Birmingham matches which I think is a first. I'm guessing that a lot of averages will drop and the ex-Birmingham riders will return to their final 2013 averages.

2014 European Speedway Championships

As they're in Tolyatti which was named after the Italian communist leader Togliatti, pronounced 'Tolyatti', which, for some strange reason is known in English as Togliatti, it sounds like they're doing a good job. -

Bob Dugard is rarely correct with his comments in Speedway Star. Constant threats of pulling out of the EL unless they devalue the product to his satisfaction is one of the reasons the league is in its current state. I can't see anyone wanting to take on the promoting rights knowing they won't be left alone to do it their way. Peterborough is a poor example because there is the added problem of a change in race night which, judging by comments on various Peterborough threads, is a major cause of concern.

He turned down the offer of a benefit meeting last season because he didn't want to admit at that stage that his career was over and wanted to wait until the 2 year period the medics gave him for reassessment of his condition was up. Hopefully, once Luke's testimonial is out of the way, Chris' meeting will be back on the agenda. -
The Doubling-up Rule Next Season
Alan_Jones replied to G the Bee's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The EL have only themselves to blame. They've continually mismanaged their side of the shop to the extent that they are outvoted 13-10 and probably soon to be 15-8. If they want more exclusive use of doubling up riders they need to make the riders and their PL promoters offers they can't refuse, and we know that in most cases that is no longer viable, so they are stuck with what they've got. -

I posted the following on the FTR thread but thought that discussion of the wider implications for the sport deserve a thread of their own. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There's an interesting interview with Jon Cook in this week's Spar. He expects the riders EL averages to continue to be ignored with the progress of the riders, in general, to be determined by the PL average of the no. 6s and NL average of the no. 7s with 3 or 4 moving up into the 1-5 over the next couple of seasons. They are having a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the future of the scheme rather than wait until November. There are a couple of quotes which show a refreshing attitude which could have wider implications than to just the FTDR programme. "As an Elite League, we've taken our hands off the wheel and we're letting Phil [Morris] drive us. I won't pre-empt what Phil's ideas are, but they've been pretty good so far, so we're looking forward to hearing them and how we move forward." "I think it's another fantastic lesson for the sport - we've had the faith to let someone else drive the project without interference from us. That's something that points the way for us in the future. Rather than turning up at AGMs with a list of what we need, maybe we leave a bit of the decision making to experts in a different field." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm assuming from the lack of any mention of PL promoters in the article that the meeting is confined to the EL, which is a shame, but hopefully the attitude will trickle down and spread to other areas of the sport.
