  1. They drop their lowest score which includes 0 for a round not contested. The points system has been mentioned a few times this season but I can't find one.
  2. The champions should be the team that uses the most TRs in a season. Everybody loves a TR...

  4. Having a decent guest in for the guest would have been a start...
  5. I'm not sure what the question is at Rye House these days, but F000x isn't the answer...
  6. Glyn Taylor may have had a hand in building it but David Hemsley designed it.
  7. What an entertaining night's racing at my new favourite away track. Just shows what can be done when starting with a blank sheet of paper. Can't wait to see what the kids can do with the 3rd & 4th bend banking on Saturday.
  8. I know 2 different people that have asked Len & Hazal separately about the rumours and both were told that there will be speedway at Rye House next season. That suggests to me next season only, otherwise why not say for years to come. Is it also a coincidence that Central Park complete their final season under the initial planning restrictions next year? Len has done many good things for speedway in the past* but, that was then and, unfortunately for him, this is now. * Other than proposing the double point tactical, of course.
  9. "14.6.1 A Meeting Co-ordinator will ensure the Staging Promotion has carried out track preparation in a manner that enhances the prospect of a Meeting taking place, especially in times of inclement weather. S/he must attend the Briefing Meeting and be involved in all discussions concerning track preparation, including those concerning a possible delay, postponement or abandonment. Upon instructions of the Meeting Steward will communicate any decisions regarding delaying, abandoning or curtailing a Meeting to the TV Company, Press and Public."
  10. Don't all promoters licences revert to the BSPA when a team ceases to operate? The Isle of Wight promoting company still exists but their licence was 'put on ice' when they decided not to compete this season. I assume that if they decided to return next season they would be subject to checks on their suitability to promote the same as any new promotion.
  11. From the Speedway Regulations; "These rules cover the MIDLAND Development League (MDL) & NORTHERN Junior League (NJL). 21.1 A prior Application to use an historical name (ie. a defunct team) or alternative team name (other than the name of the Clubs staging track), must be made to the BSPA. 21.1.1 Should a Club be permitted to use an historical name, then the Club will be required to have an Associate registered to administer that Club."
  12. In a TV interview yesterday, Bernie said he couldn't understand why there'd be any objection to the Sochi race. But then he was on top form and didn't give a straight answer to any of the questions.
  13. Because he was late. "13.4 Riders must Sign-On one hour before the advertised start time and must always be prepared to start in accordance with the programme. 13.4.1 Failure to attend, arriving late, ceasing to participate or leaving a Meeting without the Referees permission is an offence."
  14. Dudek is being dealt with by the GKSZ, Ward directly by the FIM. The GKSZ's options are a fine of 5,000-50,000zl + 6 months suspension, or 6 months to 2 years suspension, or the penalties provided by the FIM Anti-Doping Code which amount to the same thing.
  15. For those that insist on comparing this to a drink/driving case or other domestic legal situation, here's a quote from the Preface to the FIM Anti-Doping Rules, nee WADA Code, with my emphasis; "Anti-Doping Rules, like Competition rules, are sport rules governing the conditions under which sport is played. Riders and other Persons accept these rules as a condition of participation and shall be bound by them. These sport-specific rules and procedures, aimed at enforcing anti-doping principles in a global and harmonized manner, are distinct in nature and, therefore, not intended to be subject to or limited by any national requirements and legal standards applicable to criminal proceedings or employment matters. When reviewing the facts and the law of a given case, all courts, arbitral tribunals and other adjudicating bodies should be aware of and respect the distinct nature of the anti-doping rules in the Code and the fact that these rules represent the consensus of a broad spectrum of stakeholders around the world with an interest in fair sport." For those that say he was only a little bit over the limit and thus should be treated more leniently, here's another quote from the same source that appears a couple of times with, again, my emphasis; "It is each Rider’s personal duty to ensure that no Prohibited Substance enters his or her body. Accordingly, it is not necessary that intent, fault, negligence or knowing Use on the Rider’s part be demonstrated in order to establish an anti-doping rule violation for Use of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method."
  16. Meanwhile, back at the match, Mason Campton is the guest for Garrity. Still waiting for the swelling on Boxall's ankle to go down to allow an x-ray.
