  1. Last year it was discretionary and correctly applied. This year it's compulsory. ...and we get it. The sole purpose of British speedway, the BSPA and the SCB regulations is to mess with the minds of a few paranoid residents of the Manchester area. "as per the grading list" which at one time was administered by Peter Oakes and may well still be.
  2. Not quite. A facility is allowed for a rider in the initial declaration that doesn't start the season. If the team is redeclared, it's then that no facility is allowed.
  3. Probably not a great shock to regulars. They started a centre green junior track 2 years ago which was meant to be convertible into a tt dirt track combining the inner and outer tracks. Like many things at the stadium, not a lot of progress was made in the 3 months before I stopped going so I don't know if that was ever finished.
  4. It's surprising that it took so long. Last year the exact same change was made before the season started.
  5. @bbctms @jimmaxcricket @bbc5live Couldn't happen to a better bloke. At least they keep telling us he's such a good bloke...

  6. Amendments to 2018 Regulations 15.2.6 Only if a rider is at the Starting Gate with sufficient time remaining of the 2- minute allowance, be permitted to prepare their Start Area, provided they remain in full, personal control of their motorcycle, have their Cut – Out Lanyard attached, and with their motorcycle facing the direction of racing. Issued 27/03/18 by the SCB Office.
  7. 9.3 A Starting Gate, operated solely by the Referee, shall support easily breakable 2 or 3 cotton tapes (not rayon, nylon, plastic or other material that may cause injury to a rider colliding with them) that are tightly stretched across the track and directly above the Start / Finish line, which must be clearly marked at all times. The lowermost tape must be between 50cm and 60cm above ground level when in the down position. The tapes shall be attached with rubber bands as loose metal hooks are not permitted.
  8. Averages aren't killing the sport. The application of average assessment is. Haphazard at best, fraudulent at worst.

  10. ...and it was the proof reader's day of again. What is calcification of a rule?
  11. It's all based on the mythical Grading List. Some lucky archaeologist is going to dig it up in a few thousand years time and all will be revealed.
  12. @bbctms Been up for every session since November so won't be breaking the sequence any time soon.

  13. "National Development League" appears 19 times in the regs, and "NDL" 38 times. The sport is run under the SCB Regulations not the SGB website.
  14. If you're a speedway supporter you have been mislead, and will be for evermore.
  15. I figure that if you fake a track problem because you've got riders missing then you deserve all you get, especially if you do it so poorly. But then competence was never high on the agenda for the Chuckle Brothers in charge at the time was it?
  16. Was he injured for the whole season? That's the only way he'll get a reduction.
