  1. Possibly 5 now with Jye Etheridge's little bombshell that he was offered a Rye House place because of somebody leaving.
  2. RT @917legend: Support this Lego 917 to be produced, it's super cool https://t.co/xbxEGFhdHl https://t.co/CnofbGmqxd

  3. There's a piece in Speedway Star on Edinburgh's new signing Jye Etheridge. He says he had offers from several teams including a call from Rye House on Sunday saying they had a contract for him as someone had pulled out of the team. Deja vu all over again...
  4. In Speedway Star Peter White lists Richie Worrall as an additional member of the qualifying group.
  5. One major flaw to your argument, which you keep repeating, is that Shawn started the offending thread around midday, presumably while still at work and fully compos mentis. There was nothing in the original article that added anything substantial to what I posted about it. For someone that objects so vehemently to being associated with a gang, you throw the term around at others rather a lot. The possibility of independent people with similar opinions seems to be beyond you.
  6. I always go to a meeting on the 1st day of the season if I can. Leicester was the only one of the three possible that I hadn't been to and it was day time so meant getting home early. A nice little stadium, well prepared track & slightly more passing than I'd seen on TV/betting streams. The second visit was for the BYC round so nothing to do with the appeal of the stadium, especially as they were cheeky enough to charge £8 when the going rate was £5 and the racecard was an unwieldy A3 size.
  7. As you feel so strongly I'm sure you'll be making every effort to attend National League meetings to support their decision to drop the TR, especially at Belle Vue.
  8. I understood the original title but I don't have a clue with this one. I'm guessing we still don't like him, right?
  9. This was re-tweeted by Rob Lyon earlier; @Marc_7_7: I'm not sure where it came from, but there is no Stars team announcement planned for tonight or tomorrow night.
  10. There's been some serious confusion here. Lakeside is an ambiguous location name and Shawn's spelling is notoriously bad. I think the intended title of the thread was "Jon Cook is a Darter".
  11. And Hamilton? Couldn't even be bothered to turn up for the Autosport Awards that gave him so much support in the early years.
  12. Have you seen this post? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=80692&page=10&do=findComment&comment=2727910 The quotes at the end are verbatim as reported by Peter Oakes.
  13. I don't think anyone's mentioned John Cooke yet. The artist, the naval captain or someone else. ...and to you for avoiding the main point of my post.
  14. I'm afraid he is. He hasn't noticed that Shawn isn't trying to wriggle out of anything but stoutly defending his corner. As for your contribution it's a case of "Promoter's Gang Member in Closing Ranks Shock".
  15. The sound of irony meters exploding all over the planet is deafening...
  16. You don't, because track shape isn't one of the criteria scored.
  17. What about Jon Cook's sick comment? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=80692&page=10&do=findComment&comment=2727910
  18. From Peter Tinniswood's 1999 radio play The Scan, a two hander written for Roy Hudd & Judy Cornwell; The Patient (Hudd): I can't hang about here all night, I've got this bloke to meet. He's got a speedway bike he wants to flog. Aah, he used to ride for New Cross in the good old days. Him and Split Waterman, like that they were, blood brothers. The Nurse (Cornwell): Would you like me to stay with you in the scan, I won't let it harm you, I won't let it make you cry. The Patient: He knew 'em all, this bloke I've got to meet. Aub Lawson, Jack Parker, Ollie Langton, Vic and Ray Duggan, he knew 'em all......
  19. 5 riders signed, team to be announced on completion.
  20. If they had, they must be thick or biased or both.
  21. Jon Cook has "explained" in Speedway Star how the heat leader list was arrived at. A lot of what he says is about studying the obvious stuff about second string averages being higher than those of heat leaders and not being able to come up with a suitable formula. All 8 clubs went through the averages rider by rider and .......... decided! If there were any doubts they went to a majority vote. "It was as simple as that, Every club ticked off who they felt were heat leaders." "Grading of heat leaders was done by common consensus of the EL promoters via an open poll and anyone thinking that's wrong is either thick or biased, or both."
