The ISLB, as it's name suggests, deals only with speedway meetings so that rule has no relevance. -

It's in rule 15.12 as quoted in the SCB statement. "In exceptional circumstances where the result is mathematically sure, following referral to the SCB, the Meeting may be awarded." -

Your 2017 team's total of 58.63, using my conversion figures, does look way better than Wolves 2018 (or Draft 1/Team 17 as I prefer to call it) but that's inflated by a successful season. The total for those riders at the start of the season, though not the full picture because of the messing around with league and team formats, is 45.58 compared to the D1/T17's 41.97. The less restricted Draft 2/Team 17, consisting of the same 1-5 with Wilson & Phillips at reserve, comes out at 43.80.

Here's my attempt at https://www.dropbox.com/s/f7j1s6eh9153as2/Speedway.pdf?dl=0 A similar approach to Dean but I've made it two U23 reserves which avoids throwing too many raw U21s in too early but doesn't really make a great deal of difference. If that's dumbed down too far for some there's a 2nd version which replaces the reserves from the full rider pool and leaves over a hundred riders for the NDL without doubling up.

As I hinted in my previous post, it can be done, but without an open minded approach it's a non-starter. If the 1st division want all the best riders and the 2nd division want nearly all the best riders then forget it. I've got 3 hours to spare before the WEC race in Mexico starts so I'll work on the idea.

There are currently enough senior pro riders registered to have 30 x 8-rider squads. As a well-known Sylvia undata often says, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need.

When I last checked at the beginning of July, there were 402 riders registered with the SCB, 257 Professional, 66 Youth & 81 Amateur. -
Because we aren't allowed to drop Peter Karger yet.
