  1. Any news on Robbo and Lewis Kerr ? Could be a patched up team on sky with no Lindgren already confirmed. What a shame as we have this great big stage to show off our tallents to the whole world.
  2. Would love to see plenty Redcar fans travelling up and been treated by all Newcastle fans the way we would expect to be treated anywhere. All the childish remarks on here have gone way OTT. At the end of the day both clubs need as many fans through the gates from BOTH sides as possible. In the 70s at Cleveland Park banter between the fans was always flying back and forwards. The Football hate mentality shown by certain people from BOTH sides recently never ever showed its face. Lets have some decent banter but lets ALL support our team and respect our opposition. Rant over
  3. Can we not have another meeting with the HS people to discuss the problems further ? At present no one is winning and everyone is loosing apart from the HSE. Surely they could use the fencing that goes along the bottom to create pens for where the steps have crumbled ? Or is it structurally under the stairs that is the problem? Something needs to be sorted because on track we have a great team which is sadly not being supported like it should through no fault of our own in the main.
  4. Looking forward to a good meeting between a couple of well matched sides. Auty and Howe always perform and Palm-Toft was fantastic as a guest for us last season. Hopefully the wind dies down a bit or the hardest job of the day will go to the lads and lasses doing the sheets on the dog track.
  5. Great performance by the Diamonds but lets remember it was the Bears first time on track while some of the Diamonds have already clocked up 4 matches. Team looks strong from 1-7 and hopefully Andrew will be back before long. I can't believe the Bears have kept faith with Kus. In all my 40 years of watching Speedway a rider has never annoyed me more. Makes the gate and looks world class. Misses the gate and at times looks like he would not make the Conference league.
  6. I agree with the scapping myself. Too many times last season I saw heat leaders ( not just ours )settling in behind reserves for a easy 1+1 points. Im not talking about team riding either. Yes we are always going to have plus and negatives for changes but this one Im for. When the opposing rider has pulled out through ef / fell you should not be paid for 2 points for effectivly finishing last. The sport is desperate to cut costs to survive and this could save the promotion a few thousand pound a season.
  7. I think the old saying if its not broken dont fix it should be the policy for next season. Mark has already announced through Facebook and twitter that he is not part of the plans so why not 1 Robbo 2 Henry 3 Richie 4 Claes 5 Ludvig 6 Steve 7 ???? Im sure most people would be pretty happy with that 6. As for number 7 ??? who knows what we would have left to play with average wise ?
  8. Sorry to hijack the subject for a minute Hope as many of you as possible can get yourselves along to Cramlington Sporting Club on Saturday from approx 1pm. Newcastle Cycle Speedway club will play hosts to Sheffield in a meeting which will go along way to determine whether we will be allowed to run 7 fixtures at the venue for league racing next season. The more support we get the better the chance we have. We at present have to put down a temporary kerb line inside and out but hopefully next year we will be getting a purpose built track of our own. Meeting starts at 1.30pm please take a look on youtube if you have never seen the sport before.
  9. A young lad called Harry Telfer is coming along for a shot so Ive asked him to give you a shout Dave. Looking forward to my own little shot after the meeting on Sunday.
  10. sorry for the plug but hey here goes. If it gets pulled off I understand : After the meeting on Sunday I will be doing 4 laps to bring to an end my 4 at 40 challenge which Ive been doing for Breast Cancer Campaign. The events have been - 105 mile Cyclone bike ride, 56 mile Great North Bike Ride, My first ever Triathlon and I will finish the 4th challenge on Sunday ( hopefully !! ) with the Great North Run. Hopefully the weather is kind and a few of you can stay behind to watch me in my shocking pink Breast Cancer Campaign T Shirt. If you would like to read more about it please visit www.justgiving.com/gavin-parr where my full story is told. Many thanks to Tsunami for agreeing to lend me the boots , helmet etc and if Darryl cant sort me out a bike Dave has kindly said he will also supply one for me. cheers Track Shop Gavin
  11. Sorry but I 100% disagree with the above. Richie is on gate 1 and Kyle Hughes ( fantastic last night ) who is gating very well is on 2. As the tapes rise ( who remembers Clive Fisher, Screensport ) they head for the first turn and Hughes tries to get across Worral but enters the first turn about 1/2 a wheel at the most in front. Richie turns the corner on the normal racing line with Hughes still trying to get across when he is not far enough in front. The 2 riders come together which causes Hughes to straighten up a little and collect the unfortunate Ingalls. Perfect first bend bunching with 2 riders wanting the same piece of track. All 4 back was the correct call. Sadly for Workington Ingalls comes off far worse when it had nothing to do with him, which is often the case.
  12. Weather forecast looks good for today so fingers crossed we get a good meeting to watch. Screen missing will be a big shame as I for one was looking forward to seeing the flying Zebra gracing the Brough Park Shale. Kevin Wolbert takes his place so Im sure this wont weaken the tigers too much. Not sure about the 6.30 pm start as its not a bank holiday in Scotland. Maybe 7.30pm would have given a few more of the Glasgow fans more time to travel down after work. See you all tonight and dont forget to get along to the Best Track shop in Speedway and say hello.
  13. can i have Hampel as my skipper please. Forgot to put him down and know its too late for this round.
  14. My team is 1 Jason Crump £50,000 6 Nicki Pedersen £ 45,000 8 Kenneth Bjerre £ 35,000 9 Fredrik Lindgren £ 35,000 13 Jaroslaw Hampel £ 25,000 Total £190,000
