Edinburgh Vs Scunthorpe (Championship) 21/6/24
IronScorpion replied to Fozzie4388's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just the result I expected & only 1 point off. If one of your riders struggles on track, difficult set ups then it is harder for the others to make up the deficit BUT, saying that, Edinburgh got it all together with 2 riders paid maximums, another 1 point off & the others scoring well. The aggregate point could well be difficult next week as we know how well Pickering rides our track. -

I have friends that have been streaming a bit this year & when they logged on was told due to a new server(supplier), your tv has to be 2 years old or less! -

Our away form even with using any of our riders for the r/r rides plus using M Simpson as reserve(should be at 6 to have the harder rides allowing Ablitt to ride at 7) I would be very surprised if we hit 35. Easy win for the Monarchs. Last seasons results can not be used as a guide. -
Oxford v Scunthorpe 05.06
IronScorpion replied to Chairboy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
After reading the reports of yesterdays 2 meetings, could Oxford had been wary of our solid scoring at Berwick replicated in this meeting, allowing Masters & Nicholls the heat wins while we picked up the other points. & had a practice/set up session where they nailed their early meeting form to get the big lead. Similarly at Poole, they were caught out by the slick, dry track, devoured of dirt when a blue racing line appeared leading to a tight meeting. -

Is it seeded or could Scunthorpe meet Workington again? -
I don't think arnieg was talking about the H18tory of Derwent Park but the break ins at Northside, another of which by the travellers was during your setting up phase.

Dan finished 2023 on a 4.6. The rules state that the average used if ridden in both leagues then the appropriate league average is used. If you start a season in 1 league & achieve a CMA(not assessed or re-assessed) then the 1.5 multiplier/divider is used. Works both ways depending on the league moving to(& guesting). -
I will do a Steve Shovlar take on this. A potential banana skin meeting as Redcar will be seeking an improvement in form & result so will want to turn us over. Wright, I expect, will be their leader & have been strengthened with the inclusions of Gilkes for Knudsen & Zischke as a guest for King. With Edwards being a danger as well, we will need to be on it & not be complacent. If Redcar are on it then it could be a score of 43 - 47 either way. If not, then it could be a 57 - 33 score line.

I am sure it was the Danes, MPT & TJ who were the guards.

I am sure that I read it was about Canal tv not wanting 2 meetings on at a weekend so I am gathering that the Saturday Ekstraliga 2 meeting will move to the Thursday. -

I think Friday that Lewis, maybe, was a bit rusty & tentative having not raced for a while. -

It is called "streaming" in which more people stay at home or watch in groups. -

I think they are on the headstock which the handlebars are fitted to so are about 12-15 inches behind the front of the front tyre. The "loop" which receives the signal is buried the same distance behind the start line so receives the signal as the front tyre crosses the line. -
For those coming from the west, there will be a total road closure on the M180 from J2 to J3 from 8pm BUT the diversion is very easy. When leaving Scunthorpe at the Tesco roundabout take the 3rd exit on the A18 & follow this to J2(Belton/Epworth) to join M180 or continue through to Thorne roundabout to join M180 for about 600 m before joining the M18. This adds about 5mins to your journey.

I believe if they are true then they will be used for a team placement. Rolling averages are now based on meetings raced in 2022, 23 & 24 so new averages would be issued after 3H3A in PL & 8 meetings in CL.

I hope Phil Griffin is not the referee again as in heat 8 , when I saw the stream & this heat is on the British Speedway site, when it shows the replay & still shot, Mountain's centre of his wheel is on or just over the white line where as Knudsen's centre of his wheel seems to be behind even though the line is blurred, someone tell me different.

I am sure I saw his name on the "who's online" list early last week. It is a shame as he was very knowledgeable & missed. -

Well that looked utter crap from the updates site. 4 heat winners, 2 top scorers with 7 a piece. Do we not watch races from the pits gate? When Worky didn't gate, they stuck it around the outside of bends 1 & 2 & were gone. -

With all the conspiracy theories going around about Speedway HQ at the EWR, home of "head honcho" Rob Godfrey you would think no other track has issues.(Leicester & ianb have no reason to talk). Issues with the wiring & starting gate at Poole, issues of soft track at Redcar, starting gate at Berwick, re-laid & re-configured track at Plymouth, issues now at Workington with re-laid(new) material not bedding in leading to 3 falls on bend 4 in 5 races. Now is it possible our lousy winter/spring weather has had a major part to play? Not with some posters! -

Reading the reports, Workington is more of a racers track rather than Berwick's "gate & go" so should suit us a bit more even though our heat leader trio are not scoring consistently away from home. The Workington riders are getting more dialled in to their new surroundings, scoring well towards the end of meetings as the track changes. Their top 3 should score about 30-34 & 2nd strings 10-14 so we need to be on our guard & hit them hard. An interesting meeting to follow. After last night, I would have thought D Howe would know a bit about Berwick's track & knowing starts are important.
