  1. With Morris now signing for Grindsted in the Danish League, who will get priority? Could Birmingham now do a Plymouth & use almost any guest for their no 1 with a high CMA? Grindsted ride on 19/4, 26, 3/5, 10, 17, 24, 7/6, 14, 28 with a break in July before re-starting on 2/8, 9, 16
  2. Also, with us now only racing 1H 1A plus 3 or 4 other meetings, we have plenty of spare weeks. Plus the Danish league closes down for a month in July.
  3. I just looked at Danish fixtures which start 19/4 & with 7 teams, Grindsted's free week is week 7
  4. Premiership only has 2 nights to arrange fixtures on whereas the Championship has 4, Tue, Wed, Fri & Sat with multiple teams racing on same night, also, taking into account the other European leagues on similar nights.
  5. What!!!! similar to the Championship from 2H 2A back to 1H 1A because some teams running 2 teams didn't realise the could/will not fulfil all their fixtures.
  6. Masters has been very good where ever he rides but struggles at Scunny, by his own admission. Dougie, by comparison, was gradually learning his trade in his early years, but came on massively having a year out in '18 to get over his injuries but was mentored back home by Darcy Ward & Davey Watt & told to get on a technical track more often. He returned to our shores in '19, opting to ride at both Leicester & Wolves, 2 difficult tracks but improved year on year. He returned to Scunny this last year, & what a year it was for him, not only at Scunny but away as well, winning the Ben Fund & who knows what could have happened in the CL Riders Championship when he was unable to ride in the re-run final.
  7. I would go by those 6 being the top 6, after that, the play offs are a lottery. Some posters saying it could be down to improving 2nd strings, who ride WITH their team leaders but it is a team game depending on who wants to WIN the heats until the end of season average manipulation of giving their team mate the glory of the better scoring position. Reserves WILL play a big part, not just in their heat 2 & 8 squabbles but picking up valuable points elsewhere. This, I feel, is where the 2 pointers will struggle.
  8. Yes, Masters & Morris are above Douglas taking in the averages, which is not the best judge as it was based on the last 10 league meetings(not a good guide in my opinion) & we are going back(rule change turn-a-round again) to a rolling 20 average. BarrowBoys page has Dougie at the top, but I don't know what his calculations are based on.
  9. I am pretty sure that most, if not all, of this last season, the better reserve was at 7.
  10. ........ & 90% of posters correctly assumed the top 4. PS, you know what is said about the word highlighted.
  11. Old rules? You mean that there are secret NEW rules out?
  12. Jacob Hook is an Aussie born in Brisbane. The NDL is NOT for overseas riders to develop & is for British riders or with British partiality only.
  13. With a bit of walking/running so doing a triathlon.
  14. Nearly all sports you have to travel to so costs incurred are petrol/diesel, train, taxi, parking then entrance fee & programme plus food/drink. If taking football as an example as others have, watching the World cup matches, they last 90 minutes + extra time of which there was a directive put out that the 4th official should note time wasting in which some matches had 10+ minutes of extra time per half. In time terms, thrown ins take 20 seconds, goal kicks, fouls & corner kicks can take 25-30 seconds wasted. Then there is the slow walk of substitutions, feigning injuries( hardly seen in the Women's game) so a match time is probably around 60-65 minutes in play of which the fans are entertained by seeing the ball passed sidewards & backwards to keep possession. The exciting bits are the shots or penalty box play of which probably amounts to 10 minutes of match time. Football could/should easily go down the route of 70 minute in game time controlled by time keepers. A lot of sports do & this would eliminate time wasting(a bug bear) AND POSTERS MOAN ABOUT SEEING 15 MINUTES OUT OF 90 OF ACTION IN A SPEEDWAY MEETING.
  15. Not just in the top 5 but ALL riding with Masters at no2.
  16. Welcome back Jake & with 2 leagues to race in, it is just what he needs for his sharpness. Just needs himself & MPT to shake off them niggling injuries & improvements should be made. Two or three others could improve as well so this is a very interesting side put together if they can keep injury free.
  17. I am pretty sure Pickering was heading to Birmingham until Edinburgh got a reprieve to run in 2023.
  18. Most of the promoters run at a loss so trying to minimise losses. Riders, mechanics & suppliers also have to earn an income.
  19. I thought the AGM said "limited number of guarantees" so they will still be some, somewhere.
  20. I thought Chris Harris was second behind J Nettles so BB must be third.
  21. I am not sure of the rules now regarding riding in 3 leagues but didn't Flint have to drop the NDL when Wolves signed him?
