This morning, I read bits of the SS regarding Scunthorpe & I am gutted & disappointed mentioning 2 changes. Then coming on here, 2 pages of differing views. My reasoning is this. The team is doing their job scoring 40+ in all meetings. The heat leaders have done their job bar Allen at Redcar & Toft at Plymouth which were our 2 defeats. 2nd strings Lambert & Mountain are doing their jobs. Lambert, riding with Dougie in 3 races is scoring his 5-6 & doing a captains job. Mountain, also, scoring similar, on the pace & just needs that bit of luck. J Thompson IS doing what is required beating his opposite no7 in heats 2 & 4 SO, this means only ONE place is up for grabs & I feel sorry if it is Thompson to go scoring well this week but too late. WE ARE scoring the points 1-5 & at no7 so it SHOULD be only the ONE change in my eyes. Making 2 could be a backward step. Dan T will not come if we release Joe. Bringing in Kemp, Kinsley/Alcock/Atkins, would they change the points that the guest/Joe T have been scoring? Probably not. As I said earlier, we are scoring points in the required positions so we should not de-rail this. Options I looked at a few weeks ago was a 4 point European as it is too late for an Aussie. F Gusts & 1 mentioned in an earlier post, L Fienhage were 2 I picked, riding together in the French league. Rob, Gail & Dave, I know it has been hard but do the right thing & only make the ONE change. Even a 3.5 man will do the job required.

No it doesn't. You might find it amusing but where do you think it was selective reporting? It says that he was taken down for a third time during the evening. It DOES NOT say by a Plymouth rider but the report eludes to the fact that Ryan was in the wars hitting the deck 3 times.

Friday is actually the 28th day from the Good Friday meting which started at 5pm so whether this goes against us, I am not sure. I have read elsewhere, though, that a guest could be found but only up to 75% of Zaine's which will be 3.20. edit. OOPS! ... Miss counted as it is the 29th day so new signing, NDL rider or as above.

Just seen on Scunthorpe twitter 50 minutes ago that Dougie is fit to ride. Also, a shout out to David Howe on getting bike(s) ready for tonight.

Damaged a bike in his Wolves meeting on Monday Night. Poster have been mentioning Complin to guest for others these last 2 weeks(probably with reason) but also pointed out he has a new born child & wanted family time. Bank holiday weekend, spend time on south coast, up to Birmingham today could have been family time as well as work. Tofty scoring only 4 probably did not help the cause but you can not score well all the time.

There are, at the moment, 3 teams using facilities for injured/missing riders Peterborough missing Pedersen, injured on 27/3 after 1/2 a lap but now quit club. Wolves missing Becker injured in Slovakia on 2/4(1st Wolves meeting 3/4) Scunthorpe missing Kennedy injured in Australia, mountain biking. (1st Scunthorpe meeting 7/4). I think all 3 teams are using the 28 day facility but read that Scunthorpe have to sign a rider after the 5/5 after the facility has ended. What is the situation with the Premiership clubs as both are using guests on Bank Holiday Monday?

Only 3 race wins but only 5 last places & with our top 3 only scoring 24 points between them, the back up from the remaining 4 was required. A good team effort.

Why did he take his 2nd, 3rd or even 4th rides? A danger to himself & others!

Hindsight!!! Depends what the stats are like previously & how the gates are prepared. Should all be equal but the tendency is for 1 & 4 being the best depending how the track evolves & where the racers race line is over the start line.

Was Pedersen given an ultimatum from his Polish club?

Do not forget that Redcar used Birmingham's J Sedgmen against Scunthorpe.

Our heat leaders have hit 30+ points in all 3 meetings so far & so "is just what the doctor(Rob) ordered" (wanted). The other lads are chipping in, also, which is good to see. The track got a bit dusty during the meeting & I expected a bit of watering with the wind blowing in to the stands but with rain forecasted probably better to keep the meeting moving with the fans suffering(only a bit, mind).

Didn't they have a round at one of the Polish Elite tracks last year?

I know what both of you were eluding to but, as a lot of posters have said, on Wednesday Poole's track was gate & go. Then after mid meeting, when Plymouth got sorted, Poole riders started going out wide but the dirt wasn't there so made no impression. The last 6 heats were 17-19.

I think what Tosh is eluding to is there is more to learn than gating. When are Poole up? End of the season so he might have forgot it all or different conditions. Here's hoping.

Still overcast but dry. Possible rain pockets about later but nothing to worry about. On rain radar(Met Office), there is a band of rain from York across north of Hull & in to the North sea which may drop in southwards with the wind about 9.15 but we do get meetings through & have no interval with minimal track grades unless lots of dust which should not apply like other tracks. At 9.15, I am normally home!

Does that also apply if a race is started, 1st bend bunching, all 4 back but a rider can't & is replaced. In the rules it calls it "frustrated" rides. Never understood it.

Got me on that one too as I thought if a rider started a race, it was classed as a ride, similar to a tape offence. So Speedway fan is saying that he did not officially start the race. Missing the 2 minutes is not a ride.

Once Poole hit 25 points after 8-9 heats, the meeting will become a non-entity with riders going through the motions, no changes(reserve swap or TS) & heat 15 be a free for all. Just what bringing in the aggregate point was all about. Hope you enjoy the meeting!!!!
