  1. I have just noticed on the Scorpion website of a change in riding order of Kemp at 2 & Lambert at 3. Is this due to them riding together at Rawicz even though I do not know their riding pairings? Could it be to give Kemp a lesson of how to ride the EWR if he could follow & keep up with Dougy although, if riding close, Dougy could team ride with him. It was mentioned in the club post meeting last week that Kemp was riding like in Poland using wrong lines & even Drew mentioned this in his interview which is in this weeks SS.
  2. I am glad to notice that all of our riders that have had the extra meetings this week are fit & have found a bit more form from bike or set up issues so looks good for tonight but we can not be complacent & just get on with the job in hand. 2 points in front from 1st leg so we just need to keep adding to it, stay safe & get through the meeting still in front where we would meet Redcar in the semi-final. Birmingham, though, will be on a mission & a point to prove. Weather fine so track & the racing should be spot on.
  3. 3. Simon Lambert : 1, 3, 2, 1, 0 = 7 7. Connor Mountain : 2, 2, 0, 1, 1, 0 = 6 https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/21739/scunthorpe-championship-24-05-2023
  4. From what I read, it was about the top promoters not wanting to split their pot of gold from the tv receipts.
  5. Clegg has a "recent" CL average of 5.06 from 1/6 so wouldn't his NDL average be twice that? I do remember though that when Cook signed for Ipswich a few years ago that after he had ridden for Kings Lynn he should have got a new PL average from, I think from memory, 1st June but still signed on his May average after signing on or around 7th June as that was the press release so for ratification purposes, signed after 1st June on about the 4th. No body at that time explained how or why they managed to do it. RULES eh!!!
  6. If team averages drop then that would mean riders averages have dropped but some may improve (Laguta & Thomson after 3H 3A) but others (TJ & Klindt) at risk so could be a difficult balancing act. I think you need to see Pickering back at Edinburgh first to guage any other change.
  7. It seems that these parking rules are similar to speedway rules ..........INTERPRETATION!. I think the key bit is "up to 4 hours" whether you arrive at 16.10 or 18.45 your time is up at 20.00. You might get away with if you put a note in your car saying "I am at the speedway. Back about 21.30" but would parking stewards/Birmingham Council believe you & slap you with a ticket.
  8. That is what all the talk was about when you re-declared with 2 in as Pickering is/was 5.92 & Thomson 4.45 & was not a 1 for 1 injury replacement. So to bring Pickering back would take you over the 39 point threshold so Pickering would be likely to come back 1 for 1 for either TJ or Klindt who are above his CMA at the moment.
  9. Of course there will be another one ............................... when Pickering is fit.
  10. But under our system, every rider is in each gate once in their programmed rides so what could be fairer. Gating positions gets you to the 1st corner & after that it is up to the riders skills where he needs to be on track. How many times do you see riders on the inside head to the outside apex of turns 1 & 2 & riders on the outside have to shut off or cut back to the inside.
  11. Not totally true as what I saw & seen posted on the updates site, the riders had to work through to get their better finishing positions.as we rarely see FTG as positions change throughout the races.
  12. Won heat 5 easily & came up against Dougy twice & Tofty 3 times when he came 2nd twice. spikes
  13. Beat Newport back in 2006 75-15( maximum win) with the "Dream Team" so all 7 would have maximums. http://scunthorpe-speedway.com/?page_id=80 https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/1460/scunthorpe-newport-cl-3pm
  14. Fishing & stirring & probably still disappointed he left Poole to join Glasgow even though it was obvious due to his Danish commitments. Didn't Masters get injured last year on a Friday, missed a Saturday meeting as he flew to Poland for treatment then rode on the Sunday. Amazing what a bit of treatment & a day off can do for your health.
  15. I hope he doesn't hit the ground but will be quicker on his bike.
  16. I would say not true fans just "keyboard warrior's" venting their frustrations.
  17. I am not too sure. Wright is on fire & depends what King & Wright do v Dougy twice & Edwards in main body so we should do well at reserve against Bailey & Mulford. I can't see more than a 6 point win.
  18. It will give him time to get his own British bikes ready.
  19. I expect Stevie Worrall to be covering Redcar's E Riss probably at no3 with King at 1 & Wright at 5
  20. Loop holes & interpretation! Now where was that solicitors number?
  21. Probably have a spin Wednesday/Thursday just for set up & familiarisation purposes.
  22. I was thinking exactly the same after reading the news on the KL website. It is a 2 for 2 change with Thomson at 4.47(I have him at 4.45) & Pickering at 5.92 so when Pickering is fit, the average will not fit him in. Plus, there is/was? a rule that you could not re-introduce in to your team once dropped.
