  1. Ryan signed last year on a 3 year visa! Does that mean he's signed for the scorps on that visa for 3 years, meaning he will be here next year(YES), unless he is sold where he would then have to apply for a new visa for a different team, Can he, also, guest in PL or EL in 2016?
  2. A very solid team, in my opinion, similar to ours in 2014. Keeping free of injuries is key. We kept meetings tight but always got punished in hts 13 & 15 to lose meetings so you just need 2 riders to be on top of their game & you could surprise a few people. Don't expect big jumps in averages 'cos riders take points off each other, even on a 5-1 so need consistency, but good luck & i hope to visit in 2016 after meeting some cracking guys at the PL Championship in sheffield.
  3. Oops. Now the numbers don't add up. Auty 8.00, Holub 7.00, Douglas 6.68, Davies 6.26, Poole 6.05, ????????, NL rider @ 3pt ???????? equates to 4.51, No Wilko then so Rob is, still, keeping us guessing! Oops again. My maths as it leaves 5.51
  4. Taylor Poole 2014 final CMA while at Sheffield was 6.05 Don't think Rob would sign 2 riders with visa issues HOPING to finish in a State top 4 so Ryan must be on a 2 year visa.
  5. Exactly what i was thinking with the article saying "he's good friends with Ryan & Alex so should be good for team spirit". Naming 3 in one go. Auty, Wilko & Ayres to finish the septet.
  6. Heard rumours that Ayres is the no 7. From the Kent team prefered Shanes but...........Prob Davies or Auty/Douglas next as unfinished business. This could make a team close to Auty, Holub, Douglas, Davies, Lanham, Wilko & Ayres/Shanes. Not disappointed if that's close
  7. then they need to mix it up a bit, bit more modern then speak clearly/louder so we can all hear. Rob has no problem on the centre green & he was, once, shy with the mike
  8. Why can't Holub drop to a 3pt CMA? That will be his new average according to the rules. All you have to do is check the BSPA site & check the averages of other riders. Palovaara & Konopka are 2 that spring to mind. There are others that started at 5 and soon dropped to around 3 then reserve so there is nothing illegal in it or manipulation. Reading between the lines of what Rob has said about talking to 5 or 6 riders who wish to return could give a team close to Josh 8.00 Zdenek 7.00 Ryan 6.68 Alex 6.26 Leigh 5.78 Wilko 5.33 Draft 3.00 Finishing 3rd from btm should give us a decent rider if we have a similar selection process to the Elite. Nike not chosen because of his National Service call up.
  9. This IS good news coming straight after our steelworks announcement of job losses. On tv, people would have seen a steelworker who is, also, a councillor & scorpion supporter. On the race night change it would undoubtedly suit some & not others. On fridays, 2 shift workers could only attend every other week. On the team front, i would think & hope josh is nailed on, Ryan if he gets in a top 4 state championship, Alex is now a "brit" so visa does not apply(shame his CMA increased so much but showed what he is capable of, Wilko even at his age, still learning & running a few meets in the Elite, taught him a few things but he needs to improve his gear & spares & Nike who improved from a 3pt CMA to 4.5. Zdenek on a 7 which will be reduced if & when he completes his 4H &4A meetings to get a proper CMA(currently after 3 meetings 15 rides & 12 points giving a minimum 3pt average) gives us scope for a change if required. This gives plenty of room for a brit draft rider at 7 & still only makes the team average around 41. Is it too weak, who knows but it will be within Rob's budget. Even TJ & Leigh Lanham come into the equation if the budget will allow. TJ now a recognised no1 & Leigh did an awesome job home & away when filling in at the end of the season. Oops! It should say "a 2 shift worker" & not mean only 2 people.
  10. nbt. Have you read the telegraph as some of our assets who rode for other teams this year are asking for more money. More money & extra sponsors will say where a rider goes. Hope this does not apply to TJ but they have to make a living, somehow.
  11. there is a fact that they cannot get a CMA this year so based on what they do in our remaining fixtures, they will be a snip or their average being too high at the start of next year leading to team changes made early
  12. There is, also, the fact that those that get there early don't pay the car park fee. More lost revenue for the club with the 3 or 4 cars that also park outside the gate to the circle. Support the club, ha. Chip in please guys as there are, also, too many freeloaders that come with riders & get in for free.
  13. dislocated hip & broken femur. Might need a 3rd 7pointer a week on mon. This is a horrendous year with injuries. Take care & get well (can't really say soon as season over for him but get ready for next year, hopefully)
  14. Guests we have used & been successful for us arn't available, as you should know! TJ is at Glasgow & Birks is injured. MPT not sure so r/r is a better option
  15. unfortunatly this year, we have not seen much of a recognisable Scorpion team due to injuries. This has led to a few home defeats, keeping crowds low, even though the regulars are entertained but maybe not happy with the results. Not a good sign for 2016, in my opinion
  16. Doing the maths, again, now that Ben has been announced based on averages at end May Auty................................about 8.00 Pijper..............................about 7.40 Douglas..........................at 6.73 Davies............................about 6.30 Wilko..............................about 5.80 Wilson............................at 4.86 Lunna.............................at 3.00 Total near 42.10 Any other takers having a go?
  17. i think all the comments on here say it all about the meeting Fozzie/Superstar1, Up until ht 10, the result was in doubt going either way but after the incidents, i said to my friends that they would now go thro' the card with Carl throwing my prediction(Carl never gives in & Matty, also, did his best in ht14. I should think Fozzie was at his computer, doing what he does best. I can't follow any meetings or pass comment as i am still banned from the update site 'cos of a jokey comment last sat, which most people make in jest but others take it seriously. Anyway, well done the rockets on a very entertaining & eventful meeting, up to ht 10 & get well soon Josh & Alex. Both accidents looked bad but feared for Alex. The off-camber on turn 4 catches a lot of riders out leading to some bad accidents. Could do with the whole bend, fence & supporting area sorting in the off season
  18. it.s ok doing it at NDL level but PL is a different kettle of fish. 2 points ok but hoped for more Found result from friends as Fozzie banned me from updates site. Ooooouuuuucccchhhhh.
  19. now been banned from updates forum cos i told fozzie to watch his back, basically. miaww!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. it has now been announced that Davies average was wrong & questions need to be answered to know how it happened. It has now been published that Davies has a new average from the 5th May which is 6.35 Lunna has now ridden 4H & 4A so he will have a new average 7 days after his last qualified meeting(Edinburgh away) which will be 3.00 as he has ridden 39 times scoring 28 points.
  21. Just doing the maths. Nothing against Nike but he just needs to kurb his exuberance to find the ultimate racing line. I do like him, though, even when he is not on his best equipment
  22. i thought his cma changed because of the rolling averages being applied. He hasn't ridden 4H 4A this season & did not ride in 2014 so i don't know how he has got a new average. Nothing against the new guys but Rob said friday when Douklas returns on team changes "you do the maths", so here is my go Auty still riding well even at no1 ...............................................................8.20 Pijper riding with Josh drops a bit.............................................................7.30 Howe still trying to get best set-up drops..................................................7.20 Douglas back at........................................................................................6.73 Wilko still doing well..................................................................................5.70 Davies improves at reserve(but not too much-hope)................................4.30 Williamson or Perks if standing by him.....................................................3.00 Re-declare to...........................................................................................42.43 leaving oddments to play with.
  23. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQnsp-CM5oc it looks like, after lifting, the front wheel tucks under before breaking. The initial fault might not have been the tube frame but elsewhere
  24. 15.14 TOP SCORER’S HEAT (Heat 15 in Elite & Premier League Competitions) . 15.14.1 Gate Positions are determined by the outcome of the Coin Toss at the start of the Meeting. 15.14.2 The Home Team Manager nominates first, but once nominated these cannot be amended, except by the Referee should the nomination not conform to the Regulations. 15.14.3 Nominations may only include “qualified” Riders, determined as either: a) A Top 3 Points Scorer based upon the 4 x Programmed Rides only including Bonus Points, except when one of those Top 3 Point Scorers has already taken 7 Rides, in which the 4 th highest Points Scorer becomes a qualified Rider. (NB. There is no facility to allow another Rider to be elevated to the qualified list if any of those Top 3 Points Scorers is unavailable due to being withdrawn or has no equipment) OR
