  1. Scorpions WILL BE ON so a trip up the A1 to visit the best racetrack in the PL. Official!.
  2. there was, also, the fact that we had Sissis guesting for Rose on sunday, in heat 2 went across the green to the pit entrance & was disqualified. Hence a shuffle of gates as he was originally gate 1 to go off 15m on gate 4. Rules applied as & when! Kerr was injured in 1st running of ht 15 & I said only qualified riders could take his place. What a fool now I am in front of friends.
  3. just a question after reading SS report. How was Roynon able to come in in ht 15? If rider(s) have tape infringement, only the handicap rule is applied ie back 15m. Ir rider is replaced as cannot ride thro injury or machine then another "qualified" rider can take his place. Roynon is a reserve so not top 3 by CMA & he was the 5th highest scorer in qualifying rides according to the referees report.
  4. Auty already announced for 2017. Douglas, from what I remember with all the visa fiasco, was signed on a 3 year deal so has another one remaining. Lyager & Wallner might, also, come into the equation somewhere, especially if the latter can get a CMA this year After the last few seasons though, we are still losing meetings in the big ht13 & 15 so a big hitter is preferred although IF the main heat leaders plus 1 2nd string & reserve score decent points, the meetings should be, almost, won before the last 3 heats. Difficult decisions for Rob but the "new entertainment/bar area" might bring in some much needed income.
  5. With Kerr now missing, that weakens us a bit after he's hit a rich vein of form. Ryan, MPT & reserves to take his rides. Watch out for the backlash after the comets hammering by Ipswich on Thursday. If Big Josh, Ryan & Little Josh are over their little niggles of illness & injury this could go down to the wire(heats 13 & 15 again).
  6. As well as all the racing, travelling on road & airports, press interviews for teams, Monster & general etc he also needs family & chill time, but he, also, finds time for other things https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DFTHumwA7M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyc3Yll2nxQ
  7. Peter Ljung. Riding well in Swedish leagues which are Thursday & Tuesday, mainly. Used to ride for Leicester in 2014 Timo Lahti. Scoring well abroad
  8. my reply was to foamfence's post that the riders would retire or be lapped. Excuse my ignorance but I have not seen or heard of the 2 replacements for tonight before
  9. If it takes 60 seconds per race(4 laps) & they are replacing riders to learn & for experience, doing 3 laps in 60 seconds. To be lapped means they will do 4 laps in 80. Even some NL lads & the MDL lads are not that slow so they, really, should not be there.
  10. outsider, I totally agree but this is the problem when pairs, 4's & world team cup are arranged within a 4 week period(big outlay for some people) plus a spare date in case of rain-offs. Rob's problem in trying to get a replacement is slightly hindered by us racing on a Sunday. Whether there is a rider, that is in a squad & not riding regularly in the other European Leagues, that is prepared to ride PL, I would have thought Rob would have found one. Also, there is the rule that any EL rider having an average over 6 at any time, cannot ride PL. Whether Morris can ride on his old PL average, I don't know. There is, also, the problem of the amount of double uppers/downers a team can have.
  11. The improved scoring Josh has made during his spell at no5 has indeed moved him back to no1(see my post#1295) from 1st Aug. Let us see how he scores, again, in the no1 position thro' improved confidence. MPT moves back into the main body with Carl dropping to reserve.
  12. Another hard ride by Masters, according to chatzone, taking Wethers wide & down. "Surprisingly Wethers excluded" All from non-biased chatzone!!!
  13. There was also the fact that there was an edited press release from Edinburgh at nearly half past midnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Were they hoping that the release was too late for checks to be made. There is, also, the point that the previous BSPA Chairman is Alan Harkess who should know most of the rules/corners to take, in submitting teams
  14. I have found a 2009 programme against Glasgow dated August 21st. Mitchell Davey had an average, then, of 3.92. he scored 11 + 1 from 7 rides.
  15. Master's celebrations were probably because it's a track he generally would say it is one of his poorest, yet, because of a good season, celebrated accordingly. Rode hard throughout trying to make an impression. Heat 1 gifted a win because of Ryan's mistake, but you,ve got to be ready. Heat 11 shot from the inside gate straight to the crown of bends 1 & 2 aka Howe, hoping to stop the run of MPT on gate 4 but MPT & Josh read it & dived up the inside. Master's then got a run of speed down the back straight into bend 3, nearly taking both Scorpions out, then later, got drive mid corner taking out Josh. Racing incident. After Kerr's exclusion, due to Ryan almost locking up, Kerr laid his bike down. In the re-run, I said to friends to expect Master's to do everything to get a 5-1. Master's then stopped Ryan's run on bend 3 leaving him nowhere to go but lay it down. Possible win or draw then became the formality of a loss unless the unexpected retirement occurred. Unfortunately, our luck was out. All in all though, a thoroughly entertaining meeting, as usual, with the result in doubt until the unfortunate heat 15.
  16. There are not many options of riders out there as Berwick found out earlier and, also, as we have found out. The move of Josh to 5 & Ryan to 1 has seen the improvement that was required & collectively they have scored more points in their new positions. Unfortunately, this might see Josh move back to no1. If a new rider can be found, he has to be a no1 by average, keeping Josh at 5 but moving Ryan to 3. This must, also, be what Rob must do for his team plans for 2017(a bit early I know but the seeds were set last weekend)
  17. Ully blocking outside line in heat 11 & Douglas wound it up the inside line
  18. If your still bleating about a squad system, when don't you choose guests from your large asset base!
  19. More of last weekend, please where the whole team performed better & not Thursdays effort as only 3 performed well enough. At least we are trying to get back to where we should be performance wise & if Davies has got a Doyle engine the whole bike needs setting up! Where's Doyle when you need him! Hancock riding might just give them the edge Think it was just a shower, June, as we should be ok for the afternoon/evening http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/map/gcx8c5kxh#?map=Rainfall&fcTime=1468105200&zoom=8&lon=-0.65&lat=53.59
  20. Harris in Team GB? Runner up 2 weeks ago saying don't forget about me Rosco. Now, in a GP he has previously won, gets 1 point from 5 rides
  21. This meeting, should, have been there for the taking after being gifted points in the 1st 2 heats. Sadly, consistency was our downfall, gating poor to average for some & even tho' there is a high banking it traps you as it's not the quickest line. Heat 8, where was MPT? Should have been in for little josh & heat 10 MPT for Kerr. Yes, Kerr hadn't scored a point but almost got round everyone on bends 1 & 2 in ht7 but Bellego took him wide. Don't know how the reporters have got it but Skids protected Garcia in ht12 & Dougie kept Bellego behind him after Auty got in front. At least my programme scoring is the same as the referee's scorecard!
  22. Today defines what could happen for the rest of the season. Last weekend, riders guested & performed well so it's just a matter of getting it right at the EWR. Not just one or two but three or four of them. We know what they CAN do as they have performed in the past but they have got to start getting it right, and now. The above post shows what can happen when a team has confidence, team rides & a good captain. I think Josh is like David(Howe) & when things are going poorly you are looking at yourself rather than the big picture, THE TEAM. He has, for a long while now, raced against his team mate for the extra buck & at times pressured his teammate into a mistake, gifting points to the opposition. A change in captain to Douglas, a rider doing well & confidence coming back from last year, might be the answer It is, also, noticeable, a lack of interest posting is due to a lack of support for a losing team at the EWR. As I have said before, Best Track & Entertainment does not bring the punters in but it shows that the whole town has struggled since Xmas due to the Steelworks. Even Scunthorpe United struggled to get the support even though they went on a good run towards the end of the season & nearly made the play-offs. A discounted offer, as a thank you to the fans, saw an increase from an average of 3300 to over 7000 for the last game.
  23. Well, there you have it. Not one heat winner from us & to rub our noses in it, a NL guest wins a heat, even though he was protected by his team mate(unlucky Adam). With our ever so dwindling form comes poor gates. Entertaining & Best Track do not bring the punters in. Even some die hard regulars are missing nowadays. I'll still be there tomorrow hoping that we can do something. Just hope the riders can do something, go back to basics as it has worked before. Persevere.
