I have a new take on the new Brit ruling, even though my previous post of my interpretation was genuine, the wording of the rule & subsequent tweets are ambiguous. The ruling could have said " All British riders new to the Championship will start on a new minimum assessed 2. Any rider from 2016 who is still assessed at 3 will be amended to their true average (Bailey 2.05, Greaves 2.32, etc) but not lower than the minimum of 2."

I believe most Premiership Teams 3rd heat leader will be about a 7 or 8 so cannot understand Poole dumping him unless they have said "see what happens this year, which is new to everyone, lower your average & we will have you back in 2018 on a bargain"

I have posted these posts or similar & people have agreed or liked my take/interpretation of the rule for new british riders. C Louis is partly right in the NEW minimum is 2 but NOT for new riders Posted in Sheffield 2017 .Any new Brit (not been in a declared team before) will start at 3. ie JPB & Smith Any British rider that has been in a declared team but not attained a 3 point CMA will start on his true CMA but not lower than 2. Hence Bailey ay 2.05 & Greaves at 2.32 This is my understanding of the rule. posted in Glasgow 2017 in reply to cyclone How I see it is new riders are unproven so are on a 3. Riders that have been in a declared team but not achieved a 3 will be on their true average but not less than 2. Hence Bailey on 2.05, Greaves on 2.32 as on twitter speedwayGB

The Swedish Leagues rider on different nights which makes doubling up easier. If we can't eliminate the miss-use of "guests" then we need to minimise it somehow

I am not sure why they have used a July 31st date for a cut off point for transfers! Yes, we had the, as others have put it, miss-use of Woffinden & Lindback, but as regards the date, there were hardly any league meetings during the month of July because of the Pairs(8th), Cardiff GP(9th), 4's(24th) & World Team Cup(29/30th). What will be the timetable for these events, again, in 2017? You might as well use June 30th but because of our climate then mid August. Best time of the year is the school holidays when attendances could/should go up & we rarely have league meetings.

The conversion figure is for Team Building purposes only to a team max of 50. After a period of racing, riders will attain a true average which will then have a conversion figure for the Premiership League only. I have posted that would the 4H & 4A system be used(not seen it confirmed anywhere) & a conversion figure of 1.2 could be used(7 riders have 4 rides each giving 42 points x 1.2 = 50.4 ie nearest to Premiership max of 50) My view on the averages is that if you have a PL average, then you use that as you have gained that average in the PL. Similarly, if you have an EL average, then you should use your EL x conversion average as you gained that average in the EL race format.

Rome wasn't built in a day. We know we needed change & this is a step in the right direction that some of the promoters have aired their views. The Rules & Regulations( then sub-Regulations will follow. As I have posted previously, we are basing our views on a 300 word statement & airing our views on things that have not been changed but lets give it time. Some owners or promoters read the forums and if we get the chance to speak to them they might say, yes, we talked about this but baby steps first rather than wholesale change. I am still not sure haw the averages will work out early on as heat leaders had tougher rides last year as only about 5 riders averaged over 8 last year. The EDR's had inflated averages because of their easier rides so how a rolling average will work, I am not too sure. T/R should have been abolished as in the KO Cup but they could have brought back the use of the T/S. If Sky have the monopoly of when racing occurs(usually a Monday or Wednesday), why couldn't they be used as fixed race nights for the Premiership(formally EL). How many Championship(formally PL) clubs ride on those days? This would eliminate the use of guests but still allow the use of double uppers which, I think, we still need. We need to look at what the Polish, Danish & Swedish Leagues are doing to make British Speedway easier to understand. I have many friends that talk to me about speedway but I find it hard to get them down to watch it. But, anyone know the offside rule in football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask Freddie Lindgren. He has been scoring well in all leagues, GP's & cut down on servicing costs by being involved with the engineers with his input & views all season. His set-up have made him very quick. The engine, itself is dearer, but by having a better oil pump, part replacement & service is vastly cut.

One thing springs to mind is that Rob had said that his team would fit, on the microphone, during one of our later meetings. After having a pre AGM, he must have had an inkling that the team average would be lower in 2017 so just needs to finalise his team. For me, there are improvements to be made if we have Douglas, Auty, MPT & Kerr. I would, also, like Jack Smith back as he was a better gater than Josh Bailey & that is half the battle won by bend 2 on some tracks. Also, I would have Fritz back as I think he could have scored more points than he did but riding with Kerr on form, curtailed his scoring. It seems to me that we just need to find that decent 7th rider that could swap with Fritz in the reserve position, if his scores takes his CMA above 5.00 There is, also, the issue that the averages quoted are not the true final averages. There will be a slight change as we rode at Newcastle on the 25th, 5 days after new averages are calculated.

That is where rich promoters, better/more sponsors & better fan base/population play a big part. For riders, it's not just the wages but the whole package(mechanic, van, parts, etc) taken from what C Louis has said "Louis said: “It brings a commonality in terms of team building in both leagues and then the conversion figure will be adjusted in May when they are both up and running and we can see what it is." CMA's based on 4 rides per rider = 14 heats = 42points. Conversion factor for true averages later could be 1.2(42 x 1.2 = 50.4)
-
That's what the rule states. There will be some riders with abnormal averages but Adam was based on doing well as an EDR then holding his own as a heat leader/2nd string. When will the new declared averages start & how will it be implemented. Rolling averages with part 2016 ave x 1.4 +2017 ave or will they get new averages after 4H & 4A meetings. A lot of the 2016 EL riders only will obviously drop their averages leading to teams dropping probably 3 points & re-declare very early.
-
There was a point raised last year where averages used was brought up. Team building averages which included the reductions for British riders having ridden in the NL get -2.5% from their CMA. There might be a similar situation of Team Building CMA being used but we are all putting our thoughts on this topic based on an approx. 300 word statement. The SCB have been trying to sort new rules since early June from what I have read elsewhere, so more will be forthcoming. Concerning the GTR engine, there has also been snippets of a new GR engine being tested with better oiling/cooling required. In the SS, there is a 2 page spread on Jawa.

no name good point. It does say increase rather than converted by. This is one of the problems of the race format in the EL this year where heat leaders rode against heat leaders 3 times & EDR's against each other 3 times. The only riders with true averages are the 2nd strings, provided they rode there all season, as they rode against riders similar to the PL format.

I'm sure I have seen somewhere where Doyle has been mentioned about doubling up before the AGM Statement. Thought it was a wind up on the forum but now there could be some truth in it. There is some good averages to be snapped up by the "money" clubs Cook on EL x 1.4 is 10.84 so bargain on his PL 9.88 Harris/Nichols come in around 9.23 Morris in at 8.98 Schlein in at 7.17 Porsing in at 6.99 Might hamper us again with riders riding abroad on Sundays

For The Good Of Speedway
IronScorpion replied to bri1966's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As well as your own squad, you could name 2 riders(probably assets or riders your fans are familiar with) that can guest at any time up to a max of 4 times per year. Once used or if takes you above team/rider CMA limits then you have to use a NL rider. Closest you will get to squad system with the amount of riders available & familiarity for fans. -
Heat 9 Only https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-XE87sPuCc Greg looks behind twice on each of the 1st 3 laps, once passed gains speed down back straight & races tightly round bends 3 & 4. Could he have passed Chris, did he try. If Doyle was still fit & the other riders with a shout of the title, would Greg have still felt that strong about a decision to withdraw from the meeting. I doubt it. Plenty of "if's" & "buts" surrounding the Melbourne GP

Having now seen the meeting & read the posts on here, it seems Hancock's actions led to it being an entertaining meeting. There was some good racing right from the 1st heat on a well prepared track. In Hancock's 1st race he looked behind once, as he is normally hard to beat when in front, exiting the final bend of the last lap when he became the Champion. In his 2nd, he was racing at speed for 1st & never looked behind once on a supposedly dodgy bike with his clutch getting worse. After every 4 heats there is a track grade & with Hancock being out again in heat 9, already the champion, having a dodgy bike that was getting worse, then why did he not change it? His subsequent actions of helping a fellow Monster rider, leading to the protest, & withdrawal from the meeting meant other riders possibly helping out other similar Nationality riders but not as obvious as in Zmarzlik & Iversen. This could, also, have hindered the final placings of Woffinden & Doyle. His punishment of his action in heat 9 was a surprise to some but others that were there & subsequent posts on here felt he was duly punished. His withdrawal from the meeting has not. By going unpunished, this could lead to other meetings, wether individual or team, where a meeting has been won & riders not coming out for their final heats. He needs to be punished, wether he is the Champion or not, of a ban of 2 GP's. Pedersen, more than anybody, has had his fair share of disqualifications, rightly or wrongly, & been upset but he has never thrown his toys out of the pram & withdrawn from a meeting. Then again, he is not a Monster rider.

Your Team For 2017

"new NL riders" meaning new NL riders in 2017 or "new NL riders" not ridden in the PL before or "new NL riders" not declared in the PL before Grey areas & interpretations!!! -
So You Want More Meetings!
IronScorpion replied to cityrebel's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Unlike Edinburgh who didn't want their fixture v Peterboro to take place incase Peterboro got 4 points & replaced them in the top 6 play-off places. There is also the fact that we have the League Cup at the start of the season to get up to speed, then the final in October!!!!!!!!!!!!!
