  1. Bailey out Campos in. Bailey was at KL for NDL practice but as he did not have a spin at our P & P, after an operation to remove a plate in his shoulder, he is not ready for racing.
  2. Riding order taken from P & P photos should be Ryan. Carl, Lewis. MPT, Josh A, Fritz & Josh B My personal view is that I wouldn't have Josh A & Fritz riding at 5 & 6 in 2 heats together. Might be entertaining but I feel it's an accident waiting to happen(hoping it doesn't of course), going by how they both liked to ride last year.
  3. This is why Polish speedway is probably the best in the world. http://www.microsofttranslator.com/BV.aspx?ref=IE8Activity&a=http%3A%2F%2Fsportowefakty.wp.pl%2Fzuzel%2Fzdjecia%2Fgaleria%2F12541%2Fzmodernizowany-stadion-olimpijski-we-wroclawiu-galleria Money is no object helped by the fact speedway is one of their top sports & aided/financed by Government & local council cash. On the topic of riders being released to ride for their Polish club, they have to good enough. They have a squad system, USE IT. Just look at what happened to C Cook last year. He was a 10pt PL rider & also a 7pt EL rider. He then got a place in a European team, travelled over for practices but could not get in the team. Hence his return to PL racing at Peterborough to make it pay. Yet he is one of our top British riders. Sorry if the link doesn't work(I have just tried again after bing translate, but it is the stadium revamp at Wroclaw) http://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/zdjecia/galeria/12541/zmodernizowany-stadion-olimpijski-we-wroclawiu-galeria
  4. Just 24hrs before our Press & Practice when all our riders for 2017 will be unveiled as well as our new clubhouse. We know our riders well as all 7 are back from last year but what will be the riding order as, due to changes of their averages, riders will be moved about. My signature gives my riding order & that has been my view for a few months now so no insider information. As we are sticking with the same 7 riders from last year, & how we finished the year off, I would keep the pairings the same. Douglas, now at 1 should ride with Wilko at 2(in 2016 they rode together at 5 & 6) Auty will be at 3 with MPT at 4(in 2016 they rode together at 1 & 2) Kerr will be at 5 with Fritz at 6(in 2016 they rode together at 3 & 4) Bailey back at 7 If the pairings worked towards the end of last year then the saying "If it's not broken, don't change it" should apply. Hoping for a better 2017 than 2016 & all riders injury free.
  5. Commercial sense from Mitas. Speedway uses the one make only & lasts one meeting but looking at the photo on TJ's twitter feed, not that. It would be interesting to see or know the views of the other riders at the Ben Fund meeting.
  6. Most of the talk on most topics is about how we can get new fans & old fans returning & posters want entertainment on the track. I don't doubt what your owners/promoters are doing off track as, from what has been said over the last 2 years, you have improved your facilities & off track entertainment 100%. The racing needs improving by giving a track that can raced & ridden on with passing opportunities. On Sunday, it seemed most of the wins were from the Glasgow trio, Wells, Bomber & TJ. That's 6 of 16 riders from, probably, not a quality field, but if that's what you want to see, so be it. I ventured out a few times from my home track to Sheffield & Kings Lynn, & what I saw there was not what I like to see, "Gate & Go". If you like to see that or 71-19 thrashings(we were very poor that said night), then that is your "cup of tea". It is not mine. Give me a 48-42 last heat decider any day of the week.
  7. How many races were won from the gate or from exit of bend 2? I take it possibly about 14!!!!!!! All the excitement was for lower placings.
  8. 6 man teams as noted. I wonder how that will work in a race format?
  9. Taken from SCB's Speedway-Stats page http://speedway-stats.co.uk/Rider/349
  10. It is not just the engine but the whole package. The bike. the riders skill, bottle & throttle control, also, come into contention.
  11. I find this very strange that Morton & Gordon have not been paid any money that is due to them over this fiasco. BV engaged Loss Assessors who reported damage to the BV business of £696,782 pounds. This is money owed to the BV business which is Morton & Gordon. The debt that MCC should have claimed off ISG was for work not done according to the plans ie; South Stand, West Stand, Toilets & drains, etc. They should also claim for any remedial work to be carried out(leaking roof) etc to be done in the future. They should, also, have insisted ISG pay the rent for the temporary South & West Stands
  12. would it be amended(reduced) as he has had a year out injured(retired)?
  13. After the green light, waiting nearly 5 seconds would put a nice smell in the air......................................burnt clutches!!!!!!!
  14. Looking at the photos of the south(temporary) stand, could someone tell me which part(s) are temporary? https://www.google.co.uk/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x487bb160a6befcb9%3A0x25c41d9f912bcd05!2m19!2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i20!16m13!1b1!2m2!1m1!1e1!2m2!1m1!1e3!2m2!1m1!1e5!2m2!1m1!1e4!3m1!7e115!4shttps%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Flh%2Fsredir%3Funame%3D104827441211274272534%26id%3D6382642859495354290%26target%3DPHOTO!5snational%20speedway%20stadium%20-%20Google%20Search&imagekey=!1e3!2s-yILKUf1QzcY%2FWJOz3XeaRgI%2FAAAAAAAAgWU%2FB0j0vXT-YmcAN3NXKGC6fnoFaTv-EiRDQCLIB&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjL7o-w2ZnSAhWMKcAKHUTMBHMQoioIfTAO It looks like the framework & roof are fixed so it must be the steps/footing area! Rather then the proposed concrete, are they scaffolding & planks or the steelwork type?
  15. I'm not quite sure on that statement Sidney. Everyone knows Auty can't gate but can entertain us around the boards while Bailey struggles if he doesn't gate
  16. The BBC has always been biased. Take a look at SPOTY & 90% of its winners. They all come from BBC aired sports. Also, the "P" should be removed & changed to "W". Personality, you're having a laugh . It is for Sports Winner Of The Year.
  17. Taken from "New Starting Procedures" in title topic The Way Ahead. Posted 16 September 2016 - 03:31 PM A system could be used similar to motor racing. Transponders used to monitor movement, do away with tapes & have an overhead/track canopy 20/25metres down from the start with red lights for ready & then green for go. All the riders are facing forward which eliminates the chance of riders on gates 1 & 4 moving slightly with the riders on 2 & 3 going & getting penalized. They, also, brought in the 2nd line just behind the start line in 2016 to stop riders from rolling back into the groove to roll them forward as the tapes go up. This was hardly ever enforced as you see from the tv clips at all levels of our sport.
  18. With the announcement of the tie up with GTR being just before Xmas, I would have thought most riders would have already sent engines to be reset/retuned to suit tracks they are moving too. Until more than a handful of riders have tested them at the winter tracks that are open, I doubt we will know. Team changes & possible engine changes will happen after new averages have been obtained around the end of April or mid May.
  19. How many clubs do have an entertaining race track? Tracks are prepared for riders not fans!!!!
  20. To then try & charge rent for the temporary facilities is scandalous. No wonder Gordon & Morton withheld their rent payments. How long would it have continued for? Just because it was their dream & it took several years to come to fruition(almost), they should not have to pay rent in 2016, 2017 & beyond, continually being mugged off. They should have insisted that the stadium be finished to the plans first set out, if not during the season, definately end of season. I feel sorry for them in that they tried but obstacles were always put in their way. The non-payment of rent is obvious but riders wages puzzles me as they were taking money but where was it going? Paying interest on loans, the reputed £3000 fee to Zagar? There has to be a balance sheet out there somewhere & it will be interesting reading, if found!
  21. Exactly my point. Gordon & Morton should have done the same or, at least, told the council & stadium builders to share the cost as the build was unfinished. Just because the new owners/managers have some financial clout, does not mean they have to pay to finish the build. A price must have been made for the finished stadium, which as everyone knows is not, so someone is cheating/robbing someone else.
  22. The Daily Star does a little snippet every Wednesday of general news that we have probably read on here.
  23. Why should we be dragged down to your level?
  24. I agree. Zagar will not be there in 2017 as the new promotion have to have funds to pay last years wage bill plus the ongoing fiasco with the £10,000 a month bill for the temporary South Stand(why on earth last years promotion agreed to that after all the other problems, they must have known it was going to be difficult to balance the books). It has, also, been stated that last years team, or most of them, have been waiting for answers & not getting fixed up elsewhere. A team, therefore of Cook, Fricke, Worrall twins, Jacob could be kept on with Bewley(an asset) & possibly Auty(previous EL history) as a team(if averages fit) not with top end power but strength in depth, similar to Somerset.
