Workington V Scunthorpe 15/04/17 Champ 7:00pm
IronScorpion replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Guests are hard to come by on a Saturday but a quick look could give us a choice of a few guests for Wallner if money will allow. D Greenwood started well for Cradley, Bewley as we know what he can do & a fellow 4 pointer, guesting for Sheffield in M Riss. Knowing our quality of guests before, we will probably get someone similar to Campos again. -
Leicester V Poole 8/4/17 Ela

Poole don't have to use r/r for Kerr but with him having a low average, Holder, Klindt x 2 or 3 & Shanes is the best option to take. -
Edinburgh V Scunthorpe Ch 7/4/17 @ 7.30pm

Looking at the averages of riders that could or have been approached near to Ryan that might have done a job would be Schlein, Berge, doolan. With Ryan being top average rider though, anyone can take his rides so got to use Fritz wisely if he does well to maximise his 7 rides including possibly taking the 4th ride of poorly performing riders. Makes our job harder, now, than it was before. COME ON THE SCORPIONS AND PULL OFF A SURPRISE. there's more fat on a burger than there is on Ryan! -

It's exactly the same at Scunthorpe. Stock cars, circus, motor cycle display teams, fun fairs all have posters plastered around town before these events happen plus an advertisement in the telegraph. -
Which is why they should have been out more pre season practicing. Having said that, I have seen practice & amateur meetings at Scunthorpe & it never resembles a race track at a league meeting, just a blue groove with no body riding in the dirt so getting set ups will be different. I would think other tracks are the same. A missed opportunity was the fact none of our riders participated in the Ben Fund meeting. It is a meeting that is not invitational but you put your name forward to the organiser. One week before we had our league meeting!!!!!! Ouch!! Even D Howe has put himself about ,having had 3 meetings to put himself in the window for a spot now he has got his enthusiasm & fitness back. "Failure To Prepare, Prepare To Fail" are words that I have posted earlier & I honestly thought, probably Rob too, that we should have had at least 6 points in the bag already. Having the same 7 riders should have made on track race pairings familiar but this is an area they did not adapt similar to the end of 2016. I said having Auty at 5 & Fritz at 6 was an accident waiting to happen(heat 7 on Sunday) & as he raced in the no5 spot last year, racking up some big points, subsequently, moving back to no1, which I don't feel is his ideal spot. Having Kerr at 5, in my opinion, would be better, & if he scored big points I think he could be a no1 as his average, pre accident, showed that he could be an 8pt rider.

That is because of the average multiplication of 1.4 for riders that only rode EL last year. Wait for the new averages to come out after 4H 4A come into play. I agree with what others are saying in that your reserves look weak at the moment. Greaves did not perform well in last years PL so to move up will be hard, plus he's on the GTR which will need time to set up.
-
People should realise that riders have their ups & downs. Riders, for example, with a 7pt average will score 10pts at home from 4 rides (which is a good score) then score 4pts away (which is a poor score) but in effect in the 2 meetings, he rode to his average. We needed to win & get good heat results in heats 13 & 14 but Holder & Ulrich put paid to that.

not this year I'm afraid. It has been replaced by a clubhouse so no veranda. You could watch form the warmth of the inside on your next visit....................................whenever that will be. We are not backed by wealthy people so our stadia takes time to develop. Your point about the viewing is poor as pre stock cars, we were viewing through open fence wire. Post stock cars, we now have the armco barriers and air fence.

Josh seems to be not up to speed only getting his points off lower riders or gifted points thro falls/retirements. as I said previous postings, Josh A not quite there. Regularly beating lower guys but can't beat top racers. We shall see what tomorrow brings on his home track but will never be more than a 7-7.5 pointer, not an outright no 1. got 29 so far with 20 heats to go.!!!!!!!!!! enjoying this justere2cgoodspeedway? will wait for your reply!!

Sheffield V Somerset 30/3/2017 Challenge
IronScorpion replied to Tigerite's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Big crowd expected because of the "freebie". -
Nathan tried a GTR at a private practice at Scunthorpe. Think it was the Poultec training day & he said it was borrowed to try. Must have bought one now. There is the scenario that most riders turn up with 2 bikes & have a spare engine around somewhere.
-
I would be hoping for something similar Outsider. I would have imagined Rob wanted to get rid of one of the big teams before they got in their stride & hoping we would be ok having ridden together as a team, but that was 6 months ago. Their big 3 does concern me in they got big scores in the Ben Fund meeting, but I expected that. "Failure to Prepare, Prepare to Fail" was an anecdote that sprang to mind when I read what Peet said about our 1st meeting at P'boro. Also, MPT was on social media asking for where he could practice with the use of tapes. We, also, have the issues with Ryan trying to get the best out of different engines, Josh seems to be not up to speed only getting his points off lower riders or gifted points thro falls/retirements. Lewis having his wrist injury but must be on a high after getting a spot at Poole, only on a 28 day trial due to the unfortunate injury to Newman. As has been said, we will not stop trying & giving 100% is all we can ask(but stay safe). Good luck Saturday so it gives us the opportunity for a decent Sunday opening fixture crowd.

No. He moved back on to GM's using Lyagers bikes before getting his own sorted.

That is why I would like to see the sport more modernised & posted this some time ago. Posted 16 September 2016 - 03:31 PM A system could be used similar to motor racing. Transponders used to monitor movement, do away with tapes & have an overhead/track canopy 20/25metres down from the start with red lights for ready & then green for go. All the riders are facing forward which eliminates the chance of riders on gates 1 & 4 moving slightly with the riders on 2 & 3 going & getting penalized The transponders work like in athletic sprints. If your reaction time is less than 0.1 seconds it is a faulty start & are excluded. NO MOVEMENT ALLOWED! TJ is another. Some riders have quicker reflexes or quicker hand/eye coordination to the tape magnets moving.
