  1. Barker was very forceful in his riding the previous week at scunny!
  2. It looks like a GM with a Jawa head but on his twitter page the head is machined from a billet in house. PJR are tuning specialists not manufacturers but with their knowledge of tuning & machining heads, they know what is required. Should be interesting when it is tested. I wonder what horsepower it kicked out when tested?
  3. After last weeks 1 point at Workington & then the loss against Redcar(credit to them as I thought they were a solid team at the start of the season) I would hope the Scorps will be ready for the Monarchs. Hoping we score in depth as the big 2 of Masters & Wells does not look good but entertainment is what we need & we are blessed with that at the EWR. Hoping the injuries are not too severe and we have our big riders available for tomorrow. Many thanks to Tom Perry, 7 pts from 5 rides was probably the difference. Sometimes we get guests that just seem to not hurt their own team(or paid to do so)
  4. Exactly. Never expected that but again lost out in reserves. Berwick would have been well beat BUT I stand by my choice of deciding not to go as I thought we would be well beat. Solid team again but Bailey must be a worry. Out of his depth in the Premiership but I thought he would be doing better in the Championship. Needs the confidence of heat wins in the NDL similar to how posters are having a go at Clegg
  5. I met some of your great fans 4 years ago at the PLRC at Sheffield & they said to get my arse up there too. It is just that if r/r is in use & one of our top 5 is having a mare, we have not got a top reserve to give us a chance. With Riss scoring well for Edinburgh & guest appearances & now being snapped up by Wolves, shows that he is a rider in form. A 3 to 3 1/2 hour journey home, even after a narrow defeat but being entertained would not bother me. I just feel, now, it will not be close, possibly 57-33ish. I do know it is not all about winning as we have suffered 2 narrow defeats already this year but we are missing our decent reserve & being out scored in that area. I have travelled to Sheffield & Kings Lynn(old EL) these last 2 years, hoping to see decent racing only to be disappointed on numerous occasions.
  6. Probably got a better offer!!! That's my plans changed for the day! After an enjoyable day at Sheffield watching the snooker, I was looking forward to travelling up the A1 with the prospect of an entertaining meeting & a chance of an away win. R/R for Josh meaning anyone could take his rides, our top 5 looking solid without having the big no1 & Riss as the best reserve out there for Wallner was an opportunity not to miss. Now, it will be in front of my computer watching the updates. Good luck the Scorpions.
  7. Even more irritating when the riders chosen have not been out in heat 14. Just a quick grade and get on with it.
  8. The new 42 point limit will be for re-declaration, I would presume. Looking at how Belle Vue have started, for example, after 4H 4A their current squad is over 42, would that mean they would have to change riders because of a good start? I would not think that would apply.
  9. Why should there be any need for testing a new engine? The present one was built & I quote "The GTR should do 160 laps if correct maintenance & clean air filters used". If the BSPA have put an order in for £360k of these engines when ready, why is there a need for a Mk2? Or is the new engine just being built for the bigger tracks abroad? If Freddie can hit big points regularly in Britain AND score points in his foreign meetings & last years GP's, why the need for a Mk2?
  10. Does anyone know or has seen a true ruling of when this will happen? Rob has mentioned the 4H & 4A rule happening for us towards the end of the month & I have found these in 2 topics Taken from Berwick 2017 50th Year Four home, four away before our riders' averages can be looked at. Fourth away (league) match is at Ipswich next week, fourth home is also against the Witches on Saturday week. Riders' figures then take effect seven days on -- which would be May 6th. It, also, states Dimitri (who is injured), does get his average for 4H 4A until mid May earliest Posted by Crescent Girl Now found this in Newcastle 2017 from dontforgetthefueltapsbruv post#1144 There is no League Cup this year. KOCup matches not included. Bonus points not included. No previous season matches to be included in 2017. New figure for all after 4 home 4 away. Rolling average from all 2017 league matches will count and be updated periodically. 20 match limit will no longer apply.

  13. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=83948&page=5 The question is, also, being asked on this thread post#68 I have not seen anything in SS, SCB Rules & Regulations or in any topic. It seems no-one knows but the powers that be , so we will have to wait! Its a bit early but have a
  14. Was Ryan practising with a view to being a replacement & first step into the top league, and/or getting any tips on set ups for his use of his own GTR?
  15. NL clubs are still using the old red & used red tyres
  16. I have found out that Freddie was testing a new engine at the w/e. Surely, he has a couple of engines in Britain & many others abroad for his respective teams, wether given or bought as he got the best out of the Gerhard engines testing for him. So, was it a new one or a re-built, serviced one as I would have thought he would have had them checked between seasons. They, also, do not do as many races abroad or in the GP's so just wondering why the need for a new one when they are all built exactly the same?
  17. Douglas was also on his GTR so still trying for perfect set-ups. He is better than his scores at the moment. He said he was going to use his GM from last year at home, which should help the team & his bank balance more. I have read on social media that Porsing(for K/Lynn) has, also, been struggling but Buster had a few words about which teethed sprockets to use & he scored well at Rye House. He just needs to find the final tweeks with carburettor & timing for perfect running. Get Buster to the EWR
  18. Sorry. Thought you might have been at Glanford Park to see the mighty Iron get to the play-offs but still a chance of promotion. I know a few friends that did not attend because of the footy.
  19. I have just had a quick workout of averages based on the 7 matches ridden(3H 4A) Douglas @ 6.07, Wilko @ 5.73, Kerr @ 5.88, Palm-Toft @ 7.52, Auty @ 7.23
  20. But Kings Lynn Premiership & NL would allow Bailey to ride a double header. Having a rider from Birmingham gives the same problem as Cook last year(2 meetings raced at the same time).
  21. From the updates site, it looked like a team effort, filling in the minor places & a rider having an excellent meeting. Well done the Scorpions on getting a totally, unexpected point.
  22. not enough testing done with the silencers & now non existent testing of the new tyres.
  23. just posted on Ippo v P/boro late start, 1 heat in 25 minutes after meeting started & this is just as bad. 5 heats in 55 minutes. Presentation driving fans away is what is being talked about on forum. Slickness required.
