  1. Not interested or confidence dropped a bit, similar to Josh Auty. He was dropped at Leicester for Bjerre because of availability issues(riding Saturday & we had several away meetings on same nights) & Sedgy dropped by B/Vue. Both riders have, basically, done nothing wrong. Form was good & scoring the required points of a second string rider.
  2. avoid the wagon behind the stand. £4.50 for a burger, £2.80 for a coffee
  3. how can you like your own post...................sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Looking at fixtures on BSPA site, the only one I can find is GB Lions U21 4TT at Mildenhall Sunday at 3pm!
  5. Swings & roundabouts. If Tungate scores, as you say, 1-2 points more then Bjerre's average will drop riding together.
  6. It is hard to understand this change which is similar to what Glasgow did with Barker. When you have a pairing & one is doing better than the other, it makes him look bad but looking at the averages, it seems to be a good pairing so it must be something else. Fricke & Worrall at 1 & 2 are averaging nearly 14 & Bjerre & Sedgy at 3 & 4 are averaging nearly 15!
  7. Based on who he is riding with & against, I think he is doing what the promotion hoped for. Riding with a very good heat leader, whether it be Gracz or Lawson was going to be difficult. He is, also, riding against 3 heat leaders in 3 of his rides. I think all no2's are expected to score around 4-6 points getting 3rd whenever possible & hoping to win heat 8. Any more is a bonus.
  8. You see quite a few magazines on the shelves in polythene/plastic covers & I subscribe to motorcycle magazines which, also, come in their protective cover keeping them dry. Is it a cost issue to keep them in paper covers rather than the cling film type or is it environmental?
  9. The asset system is wrong & totally abused in the top league. You don't have to ride for a team to become an asset. At least in the old PL(now Championship) you had to ride for that team 6H6A to become an asset
  10. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ following the path of that narrow band, we might get a shower around 4.00-4.30 but it will only be a natural watering. Warm & sunny now so should not do any damage, might even help! better later https://www.theweathernetwork.com/uk/hourly-weather-forecast/yorkshire-and-the-humber/scunthorpe
  11. Depends if we get blown away again by being passed on the outside as our riders are not doing it. Entertainment is one thing but winning is another & we are losing more fans week by week. I see it in our stand & by not seeing familiar faces when the crowd walk by at the end of the meeting. People picking & choosing when to come by finding other things to do. The hard core fans are decreasing. We, as a team, are struggling performance wise & confidence wise & having 2 riders perform week in week out is, simply, not good enough. I have heard enough of the excuses & it is time now to start performing like we know they can. Berwick's fortunes have changed by having a no1 & I would think their attendances have increased, also.
  12. A big price to pay not just on servicing but general running of an engine. In a GP, if a rider gets to the final, he will probably have had 3 or 4 oil changes. A Gerhard has it's own oil pump & superior lubrication system with limited oil changes.
  13. Just click on his website reveals a lot of info https://www.smiley-racing.com/speedway https://www.smiley-racing.com/grasstrack It was mentioned at our meeting on Sunday that we looked into Shanes as a guest. Well, he rode for Poole at Leicester on the Saturday & no booking for grasstrack or guest bookings at speedway.
  14. couldn't agree terms. wanted too much. A rider, any rider, that is not in a team at the moment & has a high average & not a 2017 average, needs to look closely to what they want as the last transfer date will soon be upon us
  15. It is hard to say this but common sense has prevailed as common sense in speedway does not come hand in hand. I know rules are rules( and they are often twisted to suit) but Redcar could not have reduced the gap in heat 10 as they had no riders. Both Glasgow riders could have "raced" & had engine failures but the gap would still have been 8 points. The only good thing that should come out of this decision (an SCB ruling not BSPA ruling ) is that the paying public should still be entitled to a refund as they have not seen a full meeting.
  16. A step too far is what the EDR system was in the old EL. For me, it needs to be a natural steady progression. NDL reserves should not be allowed to ride in the Championship as possible inflated averages could make them look good enough. Two seasons or having an 8 or 9 point average in the main body over a long period could mean you might be good enough. If, on the other hand, like JPB you are riding to a high average then give the guy a chance but also put an arm around his shoulder asking if he is ok at this level, is it too much, do you want to drop back down. Let's make sure they are ready for the move up & not destroy them. It, also, applies to the Premiership where people are saying it is watered down. Make the reserves a minimum 5.5/6 point Championship riders where if they cannot attain a 3.5/4 point average in the Premiership(over a period of time) then they are, also, not ready for the step up.
  17. Going by what I have read on here, it could be a similar situation for JPB at Sheffield & Birmingham. Sheffield invoked the 28 day guest rule although with JPB being a 2.00 point rider choices are minimal & mostly NDL riders only. If he then wishes to return to Sheffield(if they want him back as Tom Brennan turning 16 at end of June might be a better option) he will only serve a 14 day ban thus enabling him to ride for Sheffield & Birmingham after the 16th June.
  18. What these photos show is NOT the state of the track while racing but the state of the track DURING remedial work. The 1st photo shows the top surface being bladed to the outside & the 2nd all the build up. Down the back straight this was then picked up by a JCB, removed and a fresh top layer of shale graded in. As an official photographer for tracks, did you not take any photos of the track before the meeting had started & after all the remedial work had been done, or have you just posted the worst!. We have, in the past, got meetings on, & finished after worse conditions than yesterday so that is why they tried to give it a go. A few of us spoke to Peter Clarke, the referee, after & he said while the track looked good, in fact it was still greasy on the inside & grippy on the outside. There was, also, the risk of the track breaking up. The safety concern was that if a rider had spun & a following had been filled in & could not see properly, there could have been an accident, potentially a bad one. As regards the email for refunds, see our website as it is Gail Godfrey.
  19. flappy does this on many topics.....................................................not got a word to say Hope not but Robs forward thinking could be Berge or Lyager to get an average for next year
  20. You've named 2 that I would bring in & I hope 1 of them is announced tomorrow with the other when fit again
  21. Holub came in & we were hoping for him to do well(so did Peterborough) but it did not come off. Lyager came in on an assessed average & still is as he did not reach the required amount of matches when his stay was curtailed with him being not allowed time of from work & studies. Wallner, also, came in assessed & cannot drop below 4. From what I saw Lyager & Wallner could have made it in Scorpion colours & still could in the future.
  22. Will we be naming a no8 as not long ago we tried R/R, lost another rider early on then had only1 rider in a couple of heats.
  23. Sorry. What was meant was that the 2 riders remaining in the team that need to be eligible to ride in NDL or ex CL would be Kerr/Bailey after eric & allthegear's post & Kerr/Nielsen would be the 2 riders in my selection. (see my team after final changes, post #444)
  24. Posters always go off topic when the proper topic is there to be found, If the topic is not highlighted in bold then there has been no postings for a while so posters jump on anything, sometimes to wind people up. THIS TOPIC IS ABOUT THE GERHARD ENGINE, STICK TO IT. Hi Agostina. Welcome to the forum. As some riders are struggling to get perfect set up for themselves & bikes, without going in to too much detail, the engines are all the same & sealed. The engine is completely different to the GM having twin cams, it's own oil pump for better lubrication, a limiter & ignition system(electronic or differing mapping systems used). What are the adjustments that a rider & mechanic can do to find their personal setups just on the engine? Obviously, the ignition timing is one but are there outer adjustments elsewhere to be made like cam timing? A rider & his mechanic will sort out the bike variables like carb jetting, clutch adjustment, sprocket sizes, wheel base length, etc
  25. Was James "smiler" Shanes available after his 3 match jaunt to Germany? Just a question as now he is back might be guesting for someone else!!
