  1. £20 for all adults /OAP's /students, £5 for kids aged 10-17 & accompanied kids under 10 free
  2. Why Newcastle Sunday unless they are guesting but why guest with a busy schedule. Newcastle v Scunthorpe Sunday. edit. they have just ridden at Newcastle on the 20th.
  3. There has been long running problems in British Speedway & Rome was not built in a day so what do we, the supporters, want to see & be achieved, over a period of time. Buster Chapman became Chairman at the AGM at the end of the 2015 season & said straight away it was too late to make changes until the AGM in Nov '16. As there was a steady drop of top riders over the years, they decided to bring in a 1 average system for the PL & CL, bring back the present race format & doing away with the EDR system at the same time, hoping to bring the racing & results closer. They brought in promotion/relegation although I don't think this was thought out enough because of the amount of riders doubling between the 2 leagues. What will fixed race nights achieve or what do we want them to achieve? Which nights to be used? .......These must be nights that do not interfere with the other leagues so Monday(used by Sky & now BT Sport) & Wednesday. Choosing 2 nights together like Wednesday & Thursday means teams from the CL would have to change nights which would cause a greater problem. Entice top riders back? .......What most are doing, because of the Polish ruling, is race on, almost, fixed race nights in 3 leagues in Poland, Sweden & Denmark. The few that are racing over here are doing so because they are based here(families, visa, etc) & to race more to be race sharp. Reduce the amount of doubling up/down of riders? ..........This is a point well raised on here because teams are getting to have no identity as riders(self employed) are riding for numerous teams in both leagues meaning the need of guests & r/r. The main points for me would be the 1st & 3rd options. There is a problem with fixture planning but teams have not helped each other by getting as many done as soon as possible & to ask other teams to help by rearrangement of their fixtures to assist others. Now there is a mad rush to get meeting in before a deadline date for play off positions. At this stage of the season, there should have been no reason for the KOC final not to have been raced. We know the weather has not been kind these last 2 years, so it has not helped, but let's help ourselves by trying a bit more to get meetings sorted. If we need to change, we could go down the route of the Denmark League. They have 5 man teams & most riders race 6 & on an odd occasion 7 times if used as a Tac/Sub(better than t/r) so getting a 50% rise in races & race money.
  4. Do not forget that because of the attitude of Holder & Rathbone & his wish to be a Panther for 2018, your race day will change to suit this 1 rider. Stuffing the fans again in 2018
  5. Did anyone pick up on what Rob said & nearly said(keep this bit private tho') He mentioned about Ryan having to score nearly 10 per meeting for his visa so he is already thinking about 2018. Here is what I posted in Redcar v Scunthorpe 13/7 Posted 15 July 2017 - 12:48 PM With Ryan, it is nearly always a confidence issue as he always gets an injury to knock him. As he has proved before, when he is confident he is buzzing & gets decent scores regularly but I hope he is not putting too much on himself because of his visa issue. Starting out this year on different engines has not helped with his inactivity in the winter. His 3 year visa expires this year meaning he has to attain a 7 point average or, when he returns home, a top 4 finish in a State Championship. By having a look at the amount of meetings left, he would have to average about 9 which is more than what Lewis Kerr is achieving. I hope he does not try too hard to achieve this & gets another injury. I think his best option is to ride within himself, confidently, scores the points which will give him the confidence to target the top 4 finish back home in Australia, which will then see him achieve his goal to return in 2018 Was it, also, mentioned about a return to Friday night racing?
  6. your foresight was just out but not bad. The lottery numbers for Wednesday are .........................ssssssshhhhhhhh not on here! PM me. we might get 4 out of 6, split profits!
  7. I will post this before the meeting as I am expecting a decent win & score 50+ points(hope it's not the kiss of death). Now that the riding order has been reshuffled to how I would almost like it(barring the r/r), I would expect Josh A to score around 10-12 depending on number of rides. Lewis after having a couple of bad meetings at home, I am hoping for similar around the 12 mark. Ryan has been flying now he is back on the GM, & after a good meeting at Sheffield should score well. I am not sure what is happening to Captain Toft, whether he is saving his best engines for PL racing or needs to get them re-tuned but he should be scoring better than he has, definitely not as a no 1 should be. Tero should chip in with 7 or 8 & little Josh with about 4 if they both have their normal number of rides.
  8. This is one of the reasons I said at the start of the season why riders should NOT ride in 3 leagues(we had josh Bailey). These lads are young, still growing & are not used to all the travel. Also, the bikes will take a hammering but if, like Bewley, if you are doing well then the wages will offset the upkeep but if you have been struggling like Smith it would be harder for the upkeep of the bikes even with having an ex rider as a father. Guests should not be allowed but the reason they have done this, probably, is as this is the lowest league, NL riders will be used. It should be the juniors in MDL or SDL leagues(if the leagues are correct )
  9. I think that ALL the Scunthorpe supporters will be at the EWR rather than Owlerton as the racing is of a better quality that is why we have Sheffield supporters coming over as well as supporters from Redcar, Belle Vue, Peterborough, Buxton to name a few of the jackets seen this year at the EWR. Sometimes, as it happens, people go to watch speedway as a neutral. I even go myself to other venues but over the last 2 seasons have seen poor racing at Sheffield(processional ftg) & PL racing at Kings Lynn. There is, also, a BSB round at Cadwell Park today(normally August Bank Holiday) which might keep some motor sports enthusiasts away(although it can be taped, sometimes better live). Hel'n'Back is one who is missing the Sheffield meeting today.
  10. If you are that much of a supporter, you could be up here supporting your team(+ NL guest) & do the updates. Full of hot air, as usual. Use it to blow up your doll instead. Come on, are you trying to make me laugh. You should know that over the years the (old) LC & KOC start at the early part of the season & finish towards the end as priority is the league when it gets close to the play-offs(even though we both will not be in them).
  11. quote; from topsoil Another cracking meeting, passing in most of the races, even in the ones where there wasn't the racing was tight. Two evenly matched teams, close scores right up to heat 14 the result was in doubt. Most of the passing done by Scunthorpe it has to be said as the Berwick team riding didn't go to plan. Nick Morris was a class above tonight, also very impressed by Lewis Kerr for the visitors. Don't grudge him a thing after coming back from that crash at the fours. Two wins in a row, these are heady days for Berwick :-) great entertainment again and the result to go with it, you can't ask for much more. Again, it shows just what we are missing having at least one strong heat leader in a team at the bottom where most teams have two strong heat leaders & one three, when it comes to the business end of a meeting.
  12. I have posted before about specific race nights as it was ok for teams to ride on Mondays when Sky were in town & it is the same with BT Sport. Somerset main race night is Friday, yet they have raced on a Wednesday & Monday. Similar with Rye House whose main night is a Saturday & have, also, raced on a Monday & Wednesday. Better Fixture Planning would, also, minimize the use of guests when double up/down is needed.
  13. From memory, on a few threads, notably this & Sheffield's, some posters had said that the tracks had been prepared how the riders wanted it, slick. There was, also, talk of a shale shortage & some had been waiting a few weeks & were told it would be a few more. The last 2 years, prior to this year, we have had a mountain of shale at the EWR but this has now been used up by the requirements of other tracks.
  14. Exactly what I thought in that teams to be declared & noted to your away opponents 5 days from meeting then logged to BSPA for relevant checks. As stated from Peterboro's website about Holders proposed missed meetings away at Newcastle(last week) & at Scunthorpe tomorrow. If Torun using their squad & Holder now not required, he should have been declared for this meeting. Rathbone dictating his own terms, again.
  15. Heat 15 is a bonus heat for top points scorers. Based on 7 riders taking 4 rides each(up to & inc heat14, it shouldn't be lower than 42.
  16. they had covers there only a few weeks ago but only covered the bends. They might have got a few more by now.
  17. It was mentioned in the GP that riders are, also, changing to differently tuned engines. The GM tuned hotbed of PJR, Ash-Tec, Fleming Graversen & another(might have been Andersen?)
  18. "Never rains but it pours" .......injury news again. Just when we thought we might get a settled 7, Jake broke 2 bones in his wrist riding for Somerset. They are saying it shouldn't be a lengthy lay off so get well soon Jake. We will have to use r/r on Sunday so Josh, Ryan & reserves will take his rides. Will we name a number 8 just in case, if we can?
  19. If they race it on a Saturday, Holder will still be missing as I have read, somewhere, that it is mandatory to be at practice for Poland Elite Meetings. That is, unless Rathbone says "sorry Jack but the BSPA stipulate that you have to at the pairs as I made a mistake before & we, as a club, are being punished".
  20. Not just Polish league but British league, also taken from BSPA website http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.32960 looking at picture & numbers on bikes, this was taken from heat 1. GTR clearly shown on bike covers with a GM engine in chassis.
  21. file:///C:/Users/User/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Temporary%20Internet%20Files/Content.IE5/4JD6NV1E/2017%20SR%20-%20SGBC%204TT.pdf Peterborough agreed to the move between 3 parties, themselves, Torun & Jack but against the ruling body.
  22. 7 out of the 8 teams changed/ will change to Monday when on BT Sport. It was the same when on Sky!
  23. 18.8 TEAM LINE-UPS a)The Top rider (by MA) must ride at #1. b)The 2nd to 5th riders (by MA) can ride in any position #2 – #5. c)The 6th rider (by MA) must ride at #6) d)The 7th rider (by MA)must ride at #7
  24. Again, Fozzie makes a similar statement, this time on updates site about getting rid of Wilko 4 months late but he was 1 of our star performers in the early months. Maybe 2 months late at most but cannot fault his effort. Being by himself being a rider & mechanic probably doesn't help, then getting his engines serviced too late.
