  1. KFC & PIZZA HUT directly across from the stadium , pub 500 yards down the road and one directly adjacent to the stadium car park
  2. Fully agree re Hoggy , totally approachable and will give it to you straight (as far as he can go ...sometimes further depending on the number of sherbets consumed !)
  3. in actuality he WAS a guest , only on a false average ! if his average had been re-assessed (to align with his world standing/form) ,he wouldn't have ridden and all the controversy would not have arisen.a loophole that should never arise again using this suggestion.
  4. doesn't matter who he's against, he's still better round owlerton than etheridge (undeniably) , therefore aces are better off !
  5. eh? lambert is an ex sheffield rider who always rides owlerton well... does etheridge ????
  6. lambert ( ex tiger) will comfortably get more than etheridge so aces have somehow strengthened again ! advantage aces now (again)
  7. The difference between the two teams is a rider that shouldn't be riding , Title won OFF the track ! (As per prediction )
  8. 10 in the british final seems good but he isn't facing home track specialists/heat leaders
  9. aces to win by 20 on aggregate , would have been very even without the late rule change
  10. * ours has been an even longer time coming (we've NEVER won it)! aces to win by by 20+ on aggregate (absolutely NOT the score it would have been with fricke riding)
  11. isn't this the case for ALL greyhound operations, hence it being an abhorent 'sport' ??? ps the sheffield people are well renowned for being the friendliest in the world hence it's reputation as being the 'biggest village in the world'
  12. enjoyed that (watching on tv) INCLUDING havvy on co comms . good night of speedway all in all
  13. definately a broken collar bone, he posted the xray pic on twitter
  14. absolutely spot on! * Owlerton is in the suburb of HILLSBOROUGH,since that tragedy both stadiums (on the same road) have been made to stick to ALL H&S aspects to the letter of the law,no room for manouvre or they're shut down! (other stadiums would not be able to function if they were in sheffield, it's a price both clubs have had to pay to this day and won't ever change. * the volunteer track workers do NOT have degrees in 'air fence engineering' they are unpaid ,hard working volunteers who do it to keep their club running * ruts in the track due to stock cars (who share the stadium with greyhounds also), the volunteers get about 6 hours a week to do all the prep work (usually wed. night) .speedway does not own the stadium and are probably last in the pecking order * housing estates are up the hill on the back straight *it was a complete one-off ... never seen curfew at owlerton before (what a time to choose)!
  15. this is a great 'angle' (re promotion of the sport). Nigel promoted the sport in many different ways through his media work as well as helping out at many tracks ( centre green mic man ,program columns etc) , all this (i imagine) would have been 'for the love of the sport' (rather than paid) and at the 'expense' of time with his family. his loss will be felt more than we (on the outside) know. RIP Nige .
  16. https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/19607226.work-starts-swindon-speedways-new-abbey-stadium/
  17. wasn't it a 'post stock car' prepared track ???? may have something to do with it
  18. not had a drop of rain 12 miles south of the track
  19. dunno whether anyone else has been confirmed but Troy Batchelor to sheffield is a done deal
