a bad day for british speedway...a national final at a poor stadium(with poor viewing),on a poor track, with poor presentation, poor field all making for poor entertainment.the hierarchy should take a long hard look at things,it's time for a radical shake up before speedway bites the dust (pun intended).this is not the way forward.time for someone to get hold of domestic speedway(and its magic circle-pun intended) and give it a kick up the ass (or at least bring it into the90s)! -

haven't read the rest of this thread but can i just add wha a refreshing breath of fresh air it was to wintess owlerton "first timers" giving it their all and attacking the track, thus creating a thrilling spectacle.three abreast just millemeters apart-what a joy to watch, far better than the PL dross we get served up with week in week out.it also gives us a clue as to why we struggle at international level because our best prospects were outclassed by their oversees equivalents.lewis, edward find yourselves a bigger home track if you wish to progress onto the world stage.zabik was awesome-can gate AND overtake.chris holder-wow what a racer, all out effort for four laps ...the best two owlerton debutants i can remember ! can we have more please!!! -

congratulations to ben, reward for hard work and dedication.one of the quiet, unsung heroes who are the base on which speedway is built.hope this gives him the confidence to reach the next level. -

don't know where s10 is but at s6 yesterday afternoon i had to tyr to shade my eyes from the sun (or was it cos we were so bad?).this morning in s40 (chesterfield) the sun is trying to peep through the clouds and there is a definate feeling of spring in the air!shouldn't be any problems (weather wise) this week.good luck to sean for today. (crump, compton, stead, nicholls final.)

been to the stadium today (on my way to hillsborough).the track is in good condition,a bit heavy but with no standing water.it looked perfectly raceable to me (what do i know?)as it stands.they were working on the track and safety fence.saw antonio lindback arrive (ben wilson opened up to let him in the riders car park!).then saw them coming out of pizza hut on my way home from the match.only had a couple of snow flurrys today and the gritters have been out so it looks like a cold, clear night....fingers crossed.see you all tomorrow!!

from the 3rd/4th bend you can also see into the pits and the view of the track is superb,i have stood there for 30 years (yes,i have been home in between!!).view from 1st/2nd bend is also very good, but the back straight has no cover-remember the world cup when it started raining?-and you cannot get back into the other sections (don't ask me why).ps/there is a morrisons overspill car park between thier main car park and B+Q where no one ever parks-apart from me!!
