  1. good lad! join myself, king jamie and the third man on the kop if you like????
  2. second that! i've now put it on my 'never-go-to-again' list ... along with newcastle. the seven 'qualifying' teams had to meet the 'qualifying' conditions, leicester were in the competition as 'hosts' therefore do not have to meet the aforementioned conditions.
  3. we don't do maths any different in sheffield but we do check who is eligible BEFORE doing the adding up!!!! leicester are in it as HOSTS ie/ to make the event financially viable eg/ does anyone remember englands most glorious summer 1966 - we DIDN'T qualify for that event - we were in it as hosts (as is every world cup hosting country).
  4. i hope you use this word loosely. there is no racing just a gating borefest, won't be wasting my hard earned 20quid
  5. did i mention on friday how ironic it is that glasgow beat us on a rain sodden track????/// still, enjoyed the evening and weekend and,as usual,it's brill to meet up with so many people
  6. just shows how peoples opinions differ, i go home and tell everyone that the WHOLE show is brilliant even WITHOUT the speedway!!!!! ps william tell is so 70s speedway fare
  7. yeah well done to your lot, thought we kinda threw it away mind!
  8. looking back, would he have done things any differently ie/ would he have taken more of a danish approach than a californian one?
  9. fitting end to the british career of a true legend.good luck for the future leigh and thanks for your loyalty to british speedway
  10. dull (got back from portugal at 1 this morning so it would be in comparison!)! but dry
  11. two sides to every story my friend and you've only heard one obviously
  12. everyone had a choice (it wasn't compulsary)... picnic in the sun on the grass or sit in a stuffy stand and pay extra. agree that it should have been advertised in advance however
  13. well pleased with our lads yesterday and proud of the club as a whole- riders, promotion and fans for a great 'team' effort especially when the riders walked round the perimeter to come and thank the fans for our support - top effort by everybody!!! ps/ must admit i 'cheered' when bach broke down..simply because it ensured our qualification you understand
  14. fisher reminds me of andre compton in his 'pomp',sheffield fans loved him and everybody else despised him.he was hard, tough, wild and sometimes reckless sometimes stretching the boundary between hard and dirty.seen him twice in four days (sheffield on thursday and yesterday) and some of his manouvres have been very close to the knuckle to say the least(must be summat in the scottish/borders air these days ).
  15. congratulations to birmingham on your victory and massive praise to a battered, bruised and depleted tigers quartet for giving their all and making it to the final.also, great touch by them walking round from the pits to thank the sheffield fans....proud of my club today
  16. 'live' averages ie/ august green sheets (calculated on 23rd of each month) of top 4 combined (obviously there is a minimum number of matches required for a rider to qualify for a 'fours' average). think that's how it works (i stand to be corrected)
  17. well done pepe, running into form at the business end of the season
  18. i think it's likely too, sheffield (some fans and management) don't seem to value him.absolute madness i tell thee or as we say in yorkshire 'there's nowt as strange as folk'
  19. if josh was there (and winning) it would all have been from the back!!!
