  1. I Cant believe there have done this, the only thing that makes the British Final interesting there take away WHY ? I remember the days of Lee Collins and Simmons winning when the British Final meant something you can really see why British speedway is dying.........and to pick Harris ???? at least pick an up and coming young rider im sorry been a speedway fan for 37 years but the sport just gets worse and worse I feel nobody cares for the fans....
  2. The only film of the Rebels in acton is 1977 Cradley Vs White City I think the score was 331/2 441/2 to the Rebels,It was filmed by local TV Ive asked before if anybody has this dont this anybody dose.
  3. Hi Tony Could you please ask Bruce why in that Ht 19 at the 82 Overseas Final why didnt he just stall on the Start line or slide off on the first bend did he honestly think that pulling wheeles at the back of the field would go down well with the british fans knowing that what he done cost british riders they place in the next round, Thanks
  4. I was a White City fan, really loved supporting them 76-78 the great league winning team of 77 Gordon Kennett Steve Weatherley Marek Cieslak still heros to me,but once it shut down followed Eastbourne and enjoyed they 2 titles in 86 and 87,But once you team has gone it never feels the same went to Wimbledon and Hackney but felt like I was just watching as I love the sport, has anybody supported another team once your track has shut down and really meant it or deep down you knew that as for me you only loved that first team you supported.....
  5. Robbie B before you put it on your website he did this in 1977 not 76
  6. One of my heros Gordon Kennett must have rode against Neil Street and Phil Crump in the 70s he also rode against Jason in Gordons last season in 94 when Poole rode against Woves
  7. 1 Scott Autrey 2 Bruce Penhall 3 Kelly Moran
  8. I was just thinking about that night I was only 14 and now 30 years on can still clearly remember it RIP Vic and Best Wishes to Steve
  9. Hello Like your Forum Name White City Speedway? Loved the stadium the track and a Great Team Gordon Kennett,My all time hero could beat anyone always great in last heat deciders loved it when we did the double over the Dons on our way to the title in 77,How many coaches did we sent to Wolverhampton when we won the league, Steve Weatherley how far would he had gone so sad..............Kai Niemi always great from the back,Marek Cieslak first year was great also,so sad we coundnt get the crowds in the only downside, also if you heard a race from just inside the stadium sounded fantastic really lound, one more thing John Earrey best mic man they was..............
  10. Enlgand not Team Great Britain being Number 1 in the world
  11. One rider who was very unlucky was Paul Gachet,Eastboune no1 in 1975 came to the Rebels, broke his ankle in a 2nd half crash at White City in 77 then Broke his thigh in the last meeting of the 1978 season at Mildenhall, Never came back which was a shame as when the Rebels moved to Eastboune in 1979 could have really worked for him.
  12. My best memories of wimbledon has to be in August 77 when the Rebels did the double over Dons on the same day,yes I know the Dons didnt have Ed Jancarz as he was already on his way to Sweden for the World Final, still a great day, also remember 78 International when Gordon Kennett's bike stoped on the last bend when he was leading both Olsen and Collins I was gutted and he never rode agian that night, also great memorys of the Eagles and Dons clashes in the late 80s. Even though I am Rebel and Eagles Fan,I loved Going to Wimbledon Speedway. Weatherley Weatherley Rides for White City and were going to win the Leadgue Cant belive its 30 years ago
  13. Can we please have an item on Tommy Knudsen,to me the best rider never to be world champion just as good as Erik Gundersen and Hans Nielsen but very unlucky with injuries and very close to being champion in 1986.
  14. I got 9/10 Buster Breaks Beat me aswell
  15. Totally agree with you dont know if its me getting older but the GPs will never match a World Final, I used to love the old british finals when only 5 would get through to the next round 75-78 all great Finals, also I liked the old intercontinenal final and overseas finals they were always exciting. The other thing I liked about the old style world championship was most riders at the start of the season could end up world champion I konw that most didnt have a chance in hell but it was achance, now we know it going to be one of fifteen. Also with the gps in the last couple of years we know whos going to win it after the first few rounds, having said that I will be at cardiff and yes I do enjoyed it But it will not match Wembley on a World Final Night
  16. Mine hasnt arrived aswell ???
  17. Really enjoyed the Gordon Kennett chapter, still my all time hero in the sport also even though sad to read was nice to have a piece writen on Denny Pyeatt,I was at Hackney on the night of his accident its something you dont forget and I think its right we remember riders who have paid the ultimate price entertaing us.
  18. Does anybody know when The Kenny Cater Story is coming out,I thought it was beening published back in may??? Thanks
  19. At last really cant wait to hear what Gordon has to say, will always be my all time favourite, have never forgot seeing him lead the rebels to the league in 77,and wembley 78,also all the great times with the Eagles in the late 80s,
