  1. Not taking the hint Mr. Williams..? Heat times if known would be mucho appreciated!!
  2. The poster though is saying have one in Cardiff AND one in London. My preference personally would be the new Olympic Stadium rather than Wembley. Cardiff = the Welsh GP; London = the English GP. Simply NO problem with that...
  3. Because sport is about competition not nomination... Now there's a round 8 in the NL it's a perfectly sensible Finals event with no-one missing out. Trouble is someone needs to 'nominate' a date when it's not bloody raining!!!
  4. Young Hammers 9 1) Mark Baldock 1 2 3 6 2) Martin Pearce 3 Fx 0 3 3) Jack Kingston F. Pearce [9-14] Unfortunately fell foul of the 'curfew' and had to end after 4. There had been a long delay when Jack Kingston got hurt in the second staging of the fateful heat 2. Tough on the YHs who were denied a chance to get back into contention but especially on Dale and Wayne's lads coming all that way for just two rides each. No winners times for heats 1, 3 & 4 as couldn't hear in the pits. Down to someone in the cosy and more acoustically friendly bar to assist..?
  5. Result: Lakeside YH 9 KL Lightning 14 (result declared after 4 heats: curfew). Scorers & heat details to follow
  6. Er, well I was asking a simple question really... Have there been any fixtures yet in this season's NJL and which teams are in it. I think you've answered that - though it's nearly the end of June now so I'm STILL not too sure if they're been any matches yet..?
  7. Am a bit confused. I know the MDL has been having matches this season (indeed sounds like it's all going extremely well generally in the MDL..) but has the NJL actually started with any fixtures yet..? And which teams compete in the NJL..?
  8. Friday (22/6), the Young Hammers take on unbeaten league leaders King's Lynn Lightning at the Arena Essex Raceway in the AJL. Teams are (NB. in alpha NOT riding order): Young Hammers: Mark Baldock; Jack Kingston; Martin Pearce; Adam Sheppard Lightning: Rhys Naylor; Lewis Rose; Liam Rumsey; Jake Williams. AJL match follows immediately after the completion of the EL match between the senior sides.
  9. Charlotte; you need to correct your posting. You've said it's on 17 July... It's next weekend and that is, of course, 17 JUNE..!
  10. Can't be one who objects to the Garrity situation seeing as Ritchie Worrall is riding EL & NL for two clubs I'm involved with (Lakeside & Stoke) but as a matter of clarification what IS the ruling on this now and when did it change? Am sure a year or so ago it was prohibited for any rider who appeasred in the top division to also ride in the third tier.. As for Lambert - well we have a rule in the UK which says a rider has to be 15 to ride in any competitive league Speedway (including the junior/development leasgues) - threre has to be a cut off point somewhere and 15 is what it is...
  11. Ah, Wimbledon second halfers... See we've got as far as the '80s but no-one's yet touched on the 'modern' CL era at Plough Lane... By my reckoning these were (and not necessarily a fully comprehensive list) the riders who appeared in second half racing or demonstration rides during the '02-'05 period. Those listed are second halfer who never actually rode a full match in the CL or Conf comps for the Dons. Though clearly some did end up riding for others. Peter Russell; Cecil Forbes; Terry Day; Jamie Courtney; Billy Gander; Amy Carpenter; Darren Gilbert; Mark Baseby; Ben Gilbert; Dan Berwick; Keith Yorke; Karl Maben; Martin Elliott; Dean Ankers; Lance Stott; Trevor Heath; Lee Strudwick; Aaron Baseby; Niall Strudwick; Simon Tillman; Robert Lambert ; Daniel Hunt; Nick Laurence; Lewis Bridger; Dean Hargreaves; Simon Brown; Gary Cottham; Neil Evans; Gordon Watters; Jessica Lamb; Gordon Walker; Arlo Bujega; James Walker; Danny Brown The stand-out name is, I suppose, Lewis Bridger - who rode second halves as a 14 year old in '04 but ended up signing for Weymouth when he made his CL debut the next year... But there could be an even more famous name in there - if that Robert Lambert is the same kid wowing them on the continent as just a 14 year old atm. He must've been only 6-ish when he did some demo rides at Plough Lane... Or have I got it wrong and it's not the same lad..?
  12. Thank gawd for that - that's the team I've proflled for the prog. Hope I've 'guessed' all the other team line-ups right too... Coz yes, prog notes had to be written before got the confirmed line-ups... Quite why they couldn't have been available in time is indeed beyond me..!
  13. Crickey - exactly HOW do you head-butt someone when they're on the floor..?!
  14. Well Danno is a regular in the RH Pocket Rockets AJL side, so seems to make perfect sense to step up when the chance presents itself into the Raiders side - certainly NOT therefore classified in any way as a 'guest'. And surely the same in respect of Nick though he MIGHT possibly be a Mildenhall asset (not sure if he is or not...) so it MAY be that he could at a stretch be classified as a 'guest'.. In NL terms at reserve/3.00 av. level how is a 'guest' actually defined..?
  15. The Flat Track Club Championship meeting scheduled for today at Rye House has been called off due to the rain. But as you say forecast better for tomorrow...
  16. Just a week to go to this meeting at Stoke and can't see any thread for it, so here goes... Draw is: GROUP A: Rye House Raiders; Isle of Wight;Stoke; Dudley GROUP B: King’s Lynn YS; Mildenhall; Buxton; Scunthorpe Saints Any details on likely team line-ups?
  17. Cheers mate. Guess it must be so. Though I do still think it odd that in writing what must've been the wrong name in the blank spot in the prog. I chanced upon the name 'Clayton' which doesn't sound much like 'Place' and coincidentally is the same name as another bit-part Diamonds rider who I wouldn't have heard of but who COULD have been riding that night..!
  18. Hmm, a mystery... Both Isbel & Place (according to the records I've seen) only ever rode ONE League match each for Newcastle. This of course WASN'T an NL match but was in the Supernational... So we're no nearer really finding the answer... I had written Clayton (admittedly as a surname) in my prog, and two others had written Place...
  19. Match details are here: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=69136&pid=2120246&st=45entry2120246
