The last third tier (then, Conference) team which went three months without a home fixture ended up WINNING the League - so think on...!! -

Completely gutted for Gary. He won heat 2 so convincingly and seemed set fair for a really good meeting - and then this feak accident lays him low .. Give young Gary my best wishes as ever Gary Snr. Derek -

I think it's true isn't it that a previous winner of the CL Pairs did so before he'd ridden a single match for the club he represented..? -

Indeed! I do hope the fact that the track staff are wearing Wembley Lions overalls doesn't lead to someone claiming that this track must be the Empire Stadium!!!!

Mildenhall V Stoke - Sunday 8th July
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
Bloody hell - that's still no home NL match for the Fen Tigers since the end of MAY!!! Is the news that I'm coming up next Sunday (with my pi$$ poor record of rain offs!) gonna cheer anyone up!!! -
Wimbledon Second Halfers And Number Sevens.?
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to stratton's topic in Years Gone By
Cheers for clarifying that - amazing that he appeared there so young.. -
This is completely out of order. You're right, I do not know where it is but it's literally insane to allow the notion that this is Wimbledon Stadium to remain being suggested. I can assure you it is NOT Wimbledon Stadium! And the 'tone' of my earlier posting was purely and simply to put that error straight! I'm not "complaining" about anything simply pointing out what is in any case blindingly obvious!!!

Young Hammers in AJL action on Friday (6/7) AFTER the Lakeside vs. Birmingham EL match. Opponents this week are the Rye House Pocket Rockets. Teams are (NB in alpha NOT riding order): Lakeside Young Hammers: Mark Baldock Jack Kingston Martin Pearce Simon Pearce Rye House Pocket Rockets Joe Exley Jake Hallett Brad Tokeley Danny Verge Right, well that's how I called heat 4 too but the scores in the Star (one assumes provided by Bryn..?) had it that Rhys scored 3+1 and Rose 4 +1 which strongly suggests that the writer saw it Rose second and Naylor third in that final heat! I'd conceded this point before on the basis I COULD'VE been wrong but now you've confirmed my original thoughts, seems - and whisper it quietly! - that perhaps the sainted co-ordinator MAY have got it wrong... Dale, are you out there(?), can you clarify..?!
-
Except that this is absolutely 100% NOT Plough Lane, Wimbledon. Couldn't be a more different looking place than Wimbledon Stadium!! And also certainly is NOT Ronnie Moore in that midget car..!

Ipswich Junior Witches 17 Joe Graver 7; Tyler Govier 1; Niall Strudwick 2; Martin Knuckey 7+1 Lakeside Young Hammers 19 Mark Baldock 5; Martin Pearce 3; Jack Kingston 8; Simon Pearce 3+1 1) Graver; M. Pearce; Govier; Baldock (f.rem) 65.3 [4-2] 2) Knuckey; Kingston; S. Pearce; Strudwick (f.rem.) 65.9 [7-5] 3) Kingston; Graver; Knuckey; M. Pearce 64.9 [10-8] 4) Baldock; Strudwick; S. Pearce; Govier 65.9 [12-12] 5) [awarded] Kingston; Graver; M. Pearce; Govier fell exc. NT [14-16] 6) Knuckey; Baldock; S. Pearce; Strudwick 66.7 [17-19] Jack was NOT excluded - his team mate Adam was. But jack was hurt and so had to withdraw from the rerun. Martin took his place but fell in the rerun hence the resulting 0-5. As for the KJL indiv. scores, I stand to be corrected... It was hectic, with one thing and another plus my onset of senility, so I MAY have got that wrong..? Got it ALL right tonight though with a vital Hammers win..!

Yes I thought it did look disappointingly pedestrian.. Maybe this is why the 'midgets' never took off in the UK..?

Nl Fours
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Exactly... In 2008 at the CL Fours at Stoke, Sittingbourne went there as a far bigger "no hope team" (as waco puts it) than anyone would be this year. Wooden spoonists with a 0% away record... Yet the Crusaders finished second in their semi to get those 'extra' rides in the Final and finished third in the Final too...!
