  1. Well it is of interest to me if many are going as it adds to the atmosphere and I’m sure it helps the riders to see a healthy crowd. It takes me 2 hours to get to Rye, I need my speedway but I also need friends around that I can chat with. All I stated was that 12 people I know were not going. If you look back over PL thread you will see it’s me that has been sticking up for Hawkins. I really admire young Ben and wish I had some spare cash to help him out, if ever I do then I will. I almost went over to have a chat with him at Lakeside, was going to give him my last £10 but got a little embarrassed that he may laugh at such a little offering.
  2. I’ve never said I’m against what they are doing – just against the name. We all know one of the reasons Len went for it was to avoid the fixture pile up he had in 2010.
  3. Because YOU have stated that fact many times on here plus you never answered my question – how much money have YOU spent on entrance fees in the last 5 years?
  4. Nothing to do with the riders – just against a name being used under false pretences and people on here claiming “It’s a London team”
  5. Ha Ha - well you have had 1 or 2 bouts with DB on here
  6. To be honest I did it purely to wind him up and it worked haha. ....... so here we go So let me see, I start a thread that nobody else can be bothered to start. I state why: I refuse to call them Hackney. I think BV has a decent team. That the home team will win. And that 12 of my friends will not be going – never gave a reason why? ..... and all this makes me a bad person who is not entitled to an opinion – you guys definitely need to get out more. Waco – I have never said a bad word about Ben or indeed the NL itself in fact I can count on one hand the amount of home meetings I've missed at Rye over the last 5 years (both PL and NL) – not bad for a non-Rye supporter and indeed a student that did not receive any discount! Parsloes – So I guess we can take it you are going to keep up this extraordinary attitude all year!! – Hmm out with those double exclamation marks again, you've already been told it does not mean your statement is more important on other threads. For the record please give us a clue to what you have contributed – if anything – in monetary terms to Speedway in the last 5 years. Then we can get into a big discussion on how you think you are always right in anything and everything to do with speedway, despite the fact you very rarely go. We all know I am entitled to my opinion and I am indeed offering opinions for lots of people at Rye that simply do not use this forum. If you firmly believe that something is wrong then the only way to change that is to keep reminding people how wrong that is, and gain support on the way.
  7. I refuse to put Hackney v Belle Vue because we all know it's the Cobra's team re-branded. Not a bad BV team but can't see anything other than a home win. Does anyone have any team news and indeed is anybody going? I know of 12 people that are not going
  8. Correction it's the Cobra's re-branded as the Hawkes. Hoddesdon is not in London try Herfordshire! Yes this is from another thread, Hawkes v USA team, but it sums up your true support of the Hawkes
  9. The fact is that in any business if you are going to be the most expensive then not just your product but the experience also has to be the best. Unfortunately we cannot say the set up at Rye is any better to the majority of the opposition. Having attended almost all the NL meetings at Rye over the last 5 years I can tell you the biggest crowd is always when Len gives it "FREE", I'm not saying this should be his business plan but I can tell you that he makes more money when he does that, than when he charges? Surely that should tell you that the admission price was already too expensive and now Len has chosen to put them up – my belief's are that this is an error and will result in poorer crowds and Len's response will be???????????????
  10. I think Craig said last Saturday that he was, but not 100% sure
  11. good post - cheers Parsloes just like to be controversial, but for the record I've checked every NL team admission prices and the only other team charging £12 is stoke – but that does include a FULL programme not a 1 page race card. You do talk some utter twaddle at times DB
  12. Ok its time to get sensible here – much as I want to see the Hawks back this is just a re-branded Cobra's team. Len has seen the success of other tracks using old trackless team names and is jumping on the bandwagon in the hope of a quick few bucks. Next we will see the Wimbledon Dons racing out of Milton Keynes. Len has the most expensive admission prices in the Premier League, equal to most Elite League teams, and likewise in the National League. The NL admission is £12 (No concessions) and states on the website "includes a free race card" but you guessed it, not this Saturday when the programme cost £2. I fully supported the Cobra's last year and will pick and choose which meetings I go to, I loved watching the then "dream team" last year but I will not pay those prices. I'm afraid I'm off to Eastbourne with my £14. Sorry just had to get all that off my chest.
  13. Because the BSPA want to punish teams that do not toe the line and fit in with the dictators!
  14. I would say it's more to do with Len's pricing structure and complete F*$k up of race nights etc that caused the low attendances. There were so many people that were pi$$ed off with the way the season ended regarding times and days etc. if he raises prices next year I can see him loosing a lot more customers.
  15. Hopefully I'm not upsetting anyone by posting this but just noticed the following on RH website: "Call for New Cobras" "On the National League front, the Kart Raceway Cobras are actively seeking fresh new youngsters for their 2011 team, and are invited interested riders to contact George Barclay. He can be reached by phone on 0208 592 3361, or by e-mail at g.barclay@hotmail.co.uk" Good news that NL racing will be back at Rye in 2011 and I will make a few trips there to watch.
  16. Tried that before - didn't work, only offered the same as the website
  17. Ahhh you beat me to it. lol I was at Rye last Sunday and they announced this would be the 31st Oct. Now 7pm start on the Saturday
  18. The NL 4s and NLRC are to be staged at Rye House on Sunday Oct. 31st. Don't know what happens if the weather forces a call off
  19. The BSPA only insisted the YS Semi was raced this weekend, it is Len that is saying the track can’t cope with racing over both days (despite doing this previously) so therefore we can only conclude that it was Len that postponed Saturday’s events ? If that is the case then Rye are to blame for all this mess.
  20. Ok now I am totally pissed off. I went to a load of trouble to re-organise things so I could attend this Saturday and it is just not acceptable. I agree with most of what has been said on here and I am seriously thinking about knocking this sport on the head. It is the most amateurish professional sport in the world. Just as a thought why couldn't the YS semi against Newport be staged on the Saturday if the other meeting has been postponed?
  21. Well if this thread is anything to go on then it's going to be a very poor crowd at Rye tonight? I'll ask again - does anyone have any team news
  22. Really not sure if I'm going yet - anyone got any team news
  23. I've already started a thread for this double header in the PL section but I am also a NL fan so started one here as well. My biggest question is with the debacle of last Sunday's U21 taking so long I'm not sure if I can sit through another double header at Rye? Newport are a decent NL team and I think this match will be closer than the PL meeting. Does anyone have any team news for Saturday? With a 6PM start for the first meeting I'm guessing at around 8pm for this one so may just come along to this.
