  1. Long before any of our time - Bristol used to have Laurel and Hardy.
  2. Wimbledon ages ago around 1967 grass track sidecars - and a guy got killed. Also go-karts. I remember live music in the grandstand bar after the meeting - once.
  3. You must be pretty old to remember deep dirt at Wimbledon.
  4. Kept borrowing his comb - maybe??

Thanks Lefty - that link works fine. Difficult to believe they would have done all that engineering and got the cc at 600. There would be no future for the engine in speedway. Maybe that was an unreliable legend.

Does anyone know what modifications Howard Cole made to the JAP engine - such that he had new timing covers made with his name on it ?? Maybe around 1970...
  7. Worst meeting I have ever seen - sometimes more passing in just one race at Belle Vue. Track needs more banking I reckon.
  8. They can have the car too! - Interesting idea about the price - If I put it on the lawn - people wouldnt know what it is! I guess everybody uses vans now - even juniors. Before buying the rack - I used to put the bike INSIDE a Peugeot 205 - so this was a big improvment for me...
  9. It seems not Ray - I have put it on gumtree also. It would suit other types of bike too. I would rather not take it to the tip. I may try Ebay... Steve
  10. Bike rack to get rid of - bolts to a standard trailer ball hitch set up. Can be removed from car easily when not used. I have the ball hitch set up if required which was fitted to Peugeot 206. Also number plate light board comes with it. Im in Lindford - Hampshire/Surrey border. Steve
  11. Coventry City Council has granted outline planning permission for a residential development of up to 2,400 homes on the west of the city centre. Does this make residential development of the site less likely??
  12. I think when the Russians came over in (maybe) 1965 at Wimbledon - Plechanov and Samoradov scored significantly more than the rest of the team put together.
  13. Sorry - I meant plainly obvious that he has age related health issues.
  14. I thought that was plainly obvious.
  15. Do your remember a yard of ale competition - I think Reg Luckhurst took part - around 1969.
