The number of deaths suggest that this was not just flu and I don’t think any decision makers panicked. Lots of things could have been done better and some things don’t seem logical - but better to be safe I say
I thought Lambo looked sharp in the SEC yesterday - and he tops the table. Hope he gets to ride for KL this season as he has also started well in the Polish league.
I think that it is naive to think that speedway will be unaffected when most other major sports are being affacted - especially when the majority of riders do not live in the UK.
My prediction for this season:
Play off contenders : Wolves, Peterborough, Swindon, Belle Vue
Final - Wolves v Swindon
Champions - Swindon
Wooden spoon contenders : Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Sheffield
Wooden Spoon - Kings Lynn
Reminds me of the Rye House team a few years ago - and that didn’t end too well. On paper looks good with room for improvement but these riders have lower averages for a reason. Having said that I thought The Ipswich team were gash at the start of last year and we all know how that ended
Of course they look more professional. Its a TEAM sport and the matching kit aligns with a TEAM of riders rather than a collection of individuals (Poole Pirates last season is a good example of the latter). Whether you like it or not is a different question.
Welcome back Jason Crump. Always thought he retired too early and still plenty in the tank! Great signing for Ipswich and for British speedway in general
