That is correct - it is where you finish that is important. However, the bookies made the declared 1-7 favourites and the team has now been changed so the bookies have already been proved wrong. Now that Poole have changed the team they may or may not still be favourites.

That’s shocking but given the knee jerk reactions last year signing terrible replacements - it doesn’t surprise me. Feel really bad for Shanes - pity he can’t ride for Swindon as he is at Sheffield on a Thursday. Why keep Spanner?

Swindon vs Poole BH Mon 7th May
Steve0 replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Absolutely and they will be looking to get back to winning and what better way to do that than to beat Swindon at Swindon. We all know the Poole team are capable of better and we shouldn't take anything for granted. I agree that it will be close with Swindon edging it - Poole may even get 1 league point. Hoping for a wider gap but I have seen battered teams turn up at Blunsdon licking their wounds and just being hungrier on the day and going on to win (hope that doesn't happen on Monday) -
King's Lynn v Swindon 02/05/2018

I don’t think anyone is calling for Davey’s head but he is scoring next to nothing so he needs to get back to his season starting form. As for replacing him, I would like to think that when the time is right, Swindon will have some points to play with and sign a 4-5 point rider to replace. But I would like to see him improve and his time must surely be limited. -

Well done Kings Lynn for their win. Lambert appears to be in imperious form which is good to see. Bellego had an off-night and the Swindon reserves were woefully weak. I think Zach would have done better than Serj but when you build a top-heavy team, it doesn't leave much for reserves. At the start of the season, with the form that Davey showed in the charity shield, I actually thought I had got him wrong and he looked like he was going to have a decent season. Turns out I was right because he has become the binary man since with more zeros than ones! His time in the team must surely now be limited unless he finds that start of the year form. -

Maybe not the Magnificent Seven then SS? You'll need to change your avatar - what about NASR - Need Another Seven Riders! Methinks you shouldn't have been so cocksure about your team! -

I read he was unavailable because of a family illness - not necessarily him! So compassionate leave which probably isn't covered by that rule. -
When will the bad luck end for Jye - as he has already been injured this season

Looks like DC2 has caught a tiddler

Good luck with that - that really would be taking the p!ss

Oh dear - is everyone getting in for free?

No one likes over confidence but when you are and your team doesn’t deliver - you have to expect a reaction. As has been said the season has just started and as we all know - it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. Poole will come good - I have no doubt about that.

I'm pretty sure that when the old TS rule was used, it couldn't be used for an RR ride - it seems Rosco doesn't agree -
Captain Pugwash theme would be good

Poole v Swindon SGB Prem A. 18th April 2018
Steve0 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Its a bit early to be talking about changes. Riders have bad nights sometimes - hopefully not all on the same night. -
What do you mean - just let them have a team average higher than the other teams because someone was injured? Obviously not as box office as Vaculik but Bjerre has good experience of the tracks in this country and did well last season for BV.

And the other 10% is a secret ingredient?

Thursday night speedway at swindon

He won't be at Redcar because he is injured and as he is an asset of KL they have "first dibs" on him anyway - nothing ridiculous about it! -

Swindon won't get carried away with that result and I think it is just down to the start of season "rustiness" for certain Poole riders. Swindon caught Poole with their trousers down and that won't happen easily again with the team that Poole have assembled. Who would have thought Josh would fail to score and Brady would only score 3? At the start of seasons, you often get shock results and I think that is what last night was. Rosco did brilliantly putting Nick and David together for heat 1 - both are on-form and when you start with a 5-1, the team's confidence grows. Swindon's top 5 looks pretty solid but they will have off-nights (hopefully not all at the same time like Poole last night). Well done Swindon and commiserations to Poole. -

To the over cocky Poole fans (you know who you are) - your boys took one helluva beating! Maybe your mighty team isn't as good as you thought it was and hopefully you have come back down to earth with an almighty bang! Hahahahahahahaha! Well done to the Robins - you certainly showed those pesky pie rats! Every other teams fans will also enjoy this moment! -
