A desperation signing. Can have good days but mainly poor this season. I never expected he would ride for Poole - it may help his season. How many riders is that now this season from the starting 1-7 who were going to clean up this season. At least it’s not Lahti or Kennett!

I thought you couldnt sign anyone after the end of July?

Well done to Poole on their away win. It really was a poor meeting but a win’s a win. Onwards and upwards for the pie rats -

If you look at the side/rear view it looks like the Pole got his handlebars under Worral's rear mudguard. When I first saw it I thought Worral to blame but the other angle clearly shows it's the Pole's fault. -

8 heats and gates 1 and 3 a big advantage (mainly 5-1s) -

Me too - it would be in a worse state (but Poole would be OK) It needs someone not connected to any club (now or in the past) -
Before everyone gets carried away with the RH riders - can I just remind them that they were battling Poole for the wooden spoon! KK is available again though

While I don’t condone his tweet, PhiltheAce is usually a good contributor to this forum - interesting that it was the troll who “stirred the pot” - but it was there for anyone to see if they felt that way inclined. To be banned for calling someone an idiot does seem a bit harsh but those are the rules. Think it’s best to move on... -

Can always tell when your team wins - your posts have a special tone! -
Can’t be because anyone in Glasgow is interested in the football - lol

It seems Cookie not too impressed with the Poole fans either (from his tweet) "It takes a special amount interbreeding to be so messed up in the head you’re able to cheer at someone crashing a motor bike. Some people make me sick!" -

The table has already been amended -
Really sad to read about Rye House closing. Hope the can resolve their debts and be back again - as this sport can not afford to lose any clubs.
-
As you would expect for such a fantastic stadium, the costs are significantly higher than most/all other stadiums in the country so I don't think it shows poor management to be losing money. What they need to do is to find ways of getting more people there and other revenue streams.
-
Apologies - it wasn’t aimed at you (as you seem close to the situation) - it is all the wannabes that I find annoying
-
Yes. I saw Rosco’s tweet yesterday

Unless/until you hear anything official (from club sources) it’s best that everyone ignores all the rumours and speculation on here. Some people seem to enjoy starting rumours or passing on information that they were told in confidence (I know something you don’t brigade) - both are as bad as each other. We should all wait and see what happens and keep our fingers crossed that the situation can be resolved so that speedway at Rye House can continue this season
-
Don’t worry - there was no source. I’m still hoping that Rye House continue and I think Bellego is doing the job he was signed to do at Swindon - and is going nowhere
-
The OP was just pointing out that if Poole did it they would be classed ruthless and no fuss when others do it. Two separate situations - one due to injuries and the other due to desperation (because they made a pigs ear of team building - thinking they were being “cleverer” than everyone else - karma is a b!tch)

The weakening of the top league has been going on for many years but more significantly over the last 5-6 years. It has always irked me that the team that wins the league one season has to be broken up the next to be within a points limit that more suits the bottom team than the top one! For years Eastbourne was the team dragging everyone down, then Ipswich etc. Sadly that decline in standards has continued and hit a low when fast track reserves were introduced - these riders were primarily NL riders who weren’t good enough to secure a CL slot but were blooded in the PL - total madness. This was the final straw for me and I have only been to a handful of meetings since - waiting for Speedway to solve their major issue - value for money. Rather than solve that issue they continue to dilute the league, tinker with the rules (astride the bike at the gate etc) and meeting scheduling is all over the place - sometimes no meetings for weeks and then 3 in a week and appear to do nothing positive while more and more fans desert the sport - never to return! Some people will say that the fast track system was a success because it brought on some of these riders - but they would have equally progressed in the CL - the main success was in reducing costs and driving more people away from the sport. Even today there are several reserves who are out of their depth in the PL e.g. Max Clegg, Jack Smith (and Mitchell Davey before him) etc. As a sport, I am just watching the decline continue until it finally dies what has been a long and painful death. Rant over!
