Speedway may be a numbers game when putting sides together but this starting 7 certainly won’t be the finishing 7 IMHO. Harris is on an inflated average that sees him ride at #1 - a position he has never really excelled at and there are a few riders that to find some consistency - Lawson, King (returning from injury), Bellego and Heeps (who had a very poor season at Wolves). I can see this team dropping about 2-3 points collectively in the first month.

The problem is that you need to use it or run the risk of losing it - that's the standard line. It is actions like this that drive more fans away from a sport that is "dying on its @rse". So rather than encourage new fans they p!ss off existing fans - not a great business model

That would be a stupid thing for Harris to do - given the only places left are all Buster's clubs! I'm sure he would rather be riding and earning than watching - assuming the terms are right.

Peterborough were looking like the team to beat and really sorry to read that they have released Harris. I wonder who they will bring in to replace him that is cheaper than him on a similar average? Nicholls to Peterborough and Harris to Ipswich? Or is that two (heat leader) Brits on the sidelines when the season starts?

I think the same reason as Thorsell and Kurtz - riding at number 1 puts a lot of pressure on a rider and they just weren’t ready. Plus, he seemed to no longer like the Swindon track and that affected his confidence. I am still surprised that Rosco let him go on that bargain average and I am sure Wolves will benefit from signing him.

Eastbourne are in the CL next season aren’t they?

He hasn’t ridden here in years and was last at Peterborough if I remember correctly for a short stint. I’d be surprised if the loan fees covered his “purchase”. A bit like Poole investing in Magic who doesn’t want to ride here - what a poor deal that was - especially as Doyley is still riding here and a better rider than him this last few years. Would be good to see Nikki riding again in the UK - everyone loves a villain - but can’t see it ever happening again.
