  1. I can't believe this is still being discussed - time to move on...
  2. Up until last season I thought Tai was an ok rider but had reached his level and as he admitted was on the brink of giving up and going in a different direction. What he did instead was change his fitness regime and some other things and really upped his game. He rode through the pain barrier several times and showed superhuman determination to succeed - and he did it - and deserved it! Since becoming world champion, he has a high media profile - I haven't really seen this by other world champions. He also does a serious amount for charity. He doesn't come across as big headed as some have said but a lad who is at the top of his game - for which you need the right mindset. He comes across as a thoroughly decent person. He deserves his success and I don't begrudge him his success one bit. What a transformation - in more ways than one. The only minor issue I have are his tattoos - I'm not a fan of ink but that is his choice and not mine. I wish success for many years to come so he can retire back to Oz and enjoy the fruits of his labours!
  3. Well done Tai Wish I had my sunglasses on with those white teeth of his - talk about the Colgate smile
  4. 2 rides and 2 lasts? He's even behind Bomber at this point. He may go out and get 3 wins (and I hope he does) but not looking likely
  5. Looking like Tai was a one season wonder - shame really! He needs to up his game
  6. Congratulations to Smoli - who would have predicted that - and not just hugging the white line too'
  7. Sounds like this lad is another Lewis Bridger - time will tell I suppose
  8. No - he wasn't riding for the Rebels - as you well know that is what people meant!
  9. What a disgrace Somerset are by first releasing Nick, then dumping Ty without him turning a wheel for them and replacing him with Morris - disgraceful!!!
  10. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I'm not saying he was right or wrong but who would be a sports manager? It's a thankless task a large part of the time - especially when a team isn't winning. We can't expect too much with the current state of British speedway - we just don't have enough quality world class riders - I would even be bold to say that we only have one on his form of last year which landed him the world champion crown - he needs to sustain that this year and beyond.
  11. GB is NOT England! Congratulations to Rosco - tough time ahead!
  12. Tai by a mile followed by Emil. After those two stand-outs I would go for Holder who was doing well when he got injured followed by Hampel, Iversen and then Ward. Next season may be a different story though...
  13. Crump was born in Bristol but he's not British I like Tai too (apart from his body art) so I don't know how I missed him off
  14. Ok - maybe I think of him as Aussie Corrected it now - sorry - honest oversight! I would have put Swindon down for 4 but Nick Morris chose to ride for Australia - can't say I'm surprised with the performance of our SWC team managers!!
  15. I think if you look at the teams with the most Brits, we have: Birmingham (4) - 57% of the team Swindon (3) - 43% Coventry (3) - 43% Lakeside (2) - 29% And the hall of shame: Belle Vue (1) - 14% Wolves (1) - 14% Kings Lynn (1) - 14% Eastbourne (0) - 0% Peterborough (0) - 0% Poole (0) - 0%
  16. Well done Tai Woffinden - Herculean effort last night with his injuries and clearly in pain through the meeting! And such a shame to see Pedersen fail to make the semis - NOT!
  17. Typical Pedersen - only one word for it - CHEAT! This continuity announcer cannot even say half if the riders names - Kasprzak ???
  18. Well done Tai - great to hear our national anthem - it's been a long time!
  19. If Woffinden wins tonight - I won't mind the fact that the racing has been poor. Come on #woffywoffywoffy
