  1. I must have been asleep or something! How can you get R/R for someone who hasn't ridden for a team? As far as I'm aware Holder hasn't ridden for them this season!
  2. If Darcy is out then R/R wouldn't be allowed as he's not ridden for Poole yet this season - let's hope his broken thumb and other injuries don't keep him out for long - maybe KK could cover - he looked to be on fire at the SGP.
  3. Congratulations to Smoli - who would have predicted that - and not just hugging the white line too'
  4. First and foremost the consideration should be for rider safety - sending them out in heavy rain is totally irresponsible!
  5. And the defence - it wasn't the track it was visibility As I previously said the better team won in the conditions but that wasn't my point
  6. Sounds like this lad is another Lewis Bridger - time will tell I suppose
  7. A few quotes from Twitter: Nicolai Klindt making all the tracks have air fence and trying to make the sport more safe, but running half a meeting while it was pouring it down? Richard Ainslie Complete farse at Swindon tonight forced to race a race in the pouring rain to get a result!! How to lose fans after the first meeting! Stephen King Totally agree, big disappointment! Exactly what we thought. You wouldn't come again if it was your first meeting!
  8. So you pay for 15 heats and get 10 and you don't feel short changed??
  9. Must have been the Blunsdon micro-climate again because in RWB it was lashing it down. That's what influenced my non-attendance and at least I didn't get short-changed. Those that did attend were short-changed but that's alright it happens all the time!
  10. Well I didn't go because it was raining and only going to get worse - which it did - what's harsh about that? It's short changing the fans (except the winning team who seem to think it was a great performance). It's not sour grapes from me and Coventry won because they were the better team in the conditions - that isn't my point and I will certainly be selective about which meetings I choose to attend!
  11. Hail Cameron Woodward? Great result ? Two reasons why speedway is nosediving in terms of popularity. I know it is the same for both teams but if the weather is that bad - why start? It wasn't ok for Poole against BV last season but it seems it's ok because Coventry take an away win!! Shocking double standards!
  12. What a farce that this meeting even started! Promoters will never learn !!
  13. And that's very commendable but unless a significant number of other Brummies fans have the same opinion then it may impact your future commitment.
  14. Is anyone really surprised with the scoreline? Birmingham have put together a team on a budget and unfortunately they look like a PL team - they are lacking in both the heatleader and reserve positions. I think this team actually looks worse than the Swindon team of 2011 - when we were cast adrift at the bottom of the EL with no chance of strengthening. The net result is that there was less and less of a crowd each week and it was painful to watch. A long season for Brummies fans and they will need to have some resolve to go and watch that team every week!
  15. The Brummies team looks like a PL team - will finish bottom of the league.
  16. A bad looking crash - I can't believe he is going to spend the best part of a day travelling to NZ - surely he isn't fit to travel? Hope he recovers quickly
  17. Yes 2 wins against most people's tips for the bottom two!
  18. I don't like to say "I told you so" but... Hope we are both wrong.
  19. I didn't expect it and it was only at reserve that it was won (and probably Bomber - not a Wolves rider). Good score from Ty too
  20. I think we should just butt out and remind them of forum rules - no need to get involved!
  21. Well - we're lucky you aren't running the sport because we cannot afford to lose ANY teams - although this situation needs to be resolved quickly!
  22. I have to disagree with you on the "instantaneous" bit. It IS possible (and easy) to get a message out quickly and instantaneously and people just need to embrace technology. Let's say a promoter makes a decision to cancel a meeting and they send a tweet - that can appear on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites for people to read.
