There's the proof of the man being a fool Killer NEVER signed for Poole
-
You may be right there but he certainly came out of it looking foolish!
-
I think the fool was the one who texted - look where Killer is now and what he said at the time!
-
Handy for texting that they are in a declared team - when they're not - Killer *cough*

Elite League The End Is Nigh ?
Steve0 replied to thebaron's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The basic product IS bad - after years of watering down the league it is inevitable that the product is poor! Whether the promoters can recover the situation or not remains to be seen but I'm personally not putting up with it anymore. You do raise some good points though. -

More worryingly - how did Bjarne get on there? -
With Lakeside having just replaced PK with Kim Nilsson and having Davey Watt at number 1, I can't see how Lakeside can make the play-offs!

Belle Vue V Swindon 21 July, 2014

Wow! I hoped for a narrow 2 point win but to win by 8 and all 4 points - Game on! -
Sorry but can you clarify what incredible side you are talking about? I would say that you have a strong number 1 in Zagar but that's where the incredible ends. Craig Cook seems to be doing it for Edinburgh in the PL but hasn't risen consistently well at the higher EL level (his time will come), Richie Worrall will come good with perseverance, Scott Nicholls is past his sell-by date and Palm Toft was all that was left at the start of the season. So I would say hardly an incredible team - like most teams in the league this year bar maybe 2 or 3 teams.

I thought heat 15 was the top scorers race - and killer was nowhere near being one of those. -

Good to see Klindt riding well again. Well done to the Robins (on both teams) He wasn't eligible for Ht 15 so not obvious at all. -

Belle Vue V Wolves 16-07-14
Steve0 replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The best team is the team that won the title in the end. In the play offs, Wolves were the weakest if the 4 teams and definitely the team to pick - as it proved. You look at your team the season before last and this season and they are on a par results wise. In between, the bulk of the same riders had a great run of form so yes - they did punch above their weight because those same riders are not scoring as well as they did last year. -
Well done to Tai for identifying that he needs a break - I dread to think what could have happened if he kept riding. As world champion, I think he has taken on a lot - charity cycle, media interviews (I believe he hasn't turned any down) etc. I think he deserves to recharge his batteries and contemplate his workload and how he can manage it better moving forward.

The rest of us aren't surprised - last season they punched above their weight which is obvious this season. -
The Difference In Attendances At Tracks
Steve0 replied to mdmc82's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It's not about the winning but apparently winning teams are better supported (didn't happen for Swindon since their title winning season or Brummies who finished top of the pile last year). For me, it's about value for money primarily. Also having guests or RR and an inconsistent meeting schedule means that people have found better things to do with their money on speedway night. The FTR was the final nail in the coffin for me. There are many that eel the same as I do (and many who don't) but at the end of the day what have promoters done to get people back or new people in?? -
Looks like BV have put out their away team again! That team is absolutely dire away from home at times!

Swedish Elitserien 2014, Round 10
Steve0 replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
The main announcer is better than the other one they use - he seems to have knowledge of speedway whereas the other guy made the gaff of the year a while back when he said a rider's hand was hurting when he was asking the ref for the green light Don't get me started about Ermolenko - soooo annoying! How many times does he get Kylmakorpi wrong by referring to him as Makorpi - so many more gaffs it's really annoying!! -
