  1. Where did I say it was a better team? Both teams are gash because of the dilution of the league - which was my point! I wasn't saying your team was bad compared to what it could have been I merely stated it was bad. No haste from me at all although I did try and select riders that were likely to ride for Swindon - wouldn't want Allen back at Blunsdon at all, Pawlicki more likely to be elsewhere, Mads is a possibility which would give more points available elsewhere but Sarjeant should be at Coventry which is why I went for Ritchings because there are no better riders than Sarjeant if he is in the Group B banding.
  2. How about: Doyle 8.44 Morris 6.31 Schlein 6.22 Musielak 5.00 Batchelor 7.58 Blackbird Ritchings
  3. That's the first semi decent looking team I've seen across a few threads - notably Wolves and Swindon!
  4. Oh dear! What a dreadful EL team!
  5. He was definitely looking good towards the end if last season and performed better than Garrity in the playoffs IMHO. Definitely one for the future if he continues to make progress.
  6. Some people are so easily pleased! What have they done to address the lack of value for money? As I said in the original post they are only tinkering when they should have been a bit more ruthless - we will still see lots of guests, the team strength in real terms hasn't really increased (as there are a glut of second string riders on incorrect averages after last season) and they still have two fast track reserves. As Skidder1 pointed out, they will probably want to charge more too - probably to fund the return of yellow/black helmet covers There is NOTHING in the BSPA announcement to tempt me back. Looks like I will be going to one less meeting next season having only attended one meeting last season after 20+ years of never missing a meeting except when on holiday!!
  7. Read the following http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.27764 And have to say I am very disappointed - no revolution but more papering over the cracks!
  8. Like ER said, the cupboard is bare!
  9. Other Brits have done the same in previous years e.g Scott Nicholls And Crumpy's home by birth is Bristol and is an Aussie through and through! What a shocking looking team. I can't see fans being excited by that team as British Speedway continues it's decline into oblivion. I wouldn't get out of bed to watch that team let alone pay £17 for the privilege!
  10. That's handy with Rosco and Pratt out of town at the AGM!
  11. I think it was meant as a joke with reference to his fight with Sarjeant! Having said that, he has to learn to stay on a bike for 4 laps and spend more time looking forward!
  12. You don't get 6 point averaged riders at reserve in the EL - some teams had 6 point riders in heat leader slots last season!!
  13. Don't know why you are asking me but I would say people with glass houses and all that. Poole won't have Coastal as main sponsors and unlikely to have either of the Turbo twins!
  14. Each of those listed has an EL average as you well know - so converting their PL average is WRONG! I have to ask - why would any team want North on the average he has now? I didn't expect this- http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/11601789.Colin_to_promote_the_Robins/?ref=rss&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
  15. If you have a driving licence and do work for 2 companies. While working for one of those companies, you fail a breath test. The resulting punishment is that you lose your driving license for a period - thus preventing you from driving for either company or anyone else. Is that a good enough analogy for you to see that it doesn't matter who he was riding for at the time?
  16. Make him sweat I say! I would expect him to have at least a year ban too - backdated to when his suspension started
  17. I'm surprised that they have signed North on a relatively high average - while he made good progress last season, he was a bit hit and miss at times - maybe he will be more consistent at Poole and good luck to him. I also see that Scunthorpe are not running a NL team next year so I wonder how the link-up between the two teams (Scunthorpe and Poole) will work moving forward.
  18. One word - "Integrity"! If it was dry I am sure that Swindon would have got to the final and beaten Poole but at least Swindon played fair!
  19. Probably delayed because of rain and a hole in the middle of the DVD track
  20. We had the same issue at Swindon years ago. It was always a Saturday night sport at Blunsdon and there was a good crowd of youngsters (who incidentally paid nothing). Then we had to change to a Thursday - there was a massive outcry along the lines of those points you are making but eventually Thursdays were accepted as race night! So the argument holds no water if you want to compete in the EL with the top stars - as they will be competing across Europe!
  21. Rory Schlein is on a similar average to Woodward too - and I have a feeling he won't be at KL next season
  22. Cameron Woodward would be worth consideration
  23. Did I read this correctly: "speedway is a unique sport which is all about putting bums on seats. "? Really? Its certainly unique and they are doing a good job of driving people away!!
  24. While I think he has some talent, i also think that he thinks that he is better than he actually is at this stage in his career. In his Twitter feeds he comes across as big headed and anti-Berwick and as a PL rider he is doing well. He has a lot to learn to make the progress at EL level though!
  25. Be interesting to see if they re-sign Doyley too!
