In the 70s and early 80s, Liverpool were probably the biggest, most successful football team in the UK. Those days are long since gone - although they have had a couple of "freak" results during that time. Sadly, their demise mirrors that of Belle Vue in speedway and cannot be considered serious contenders. Let's hope Belle Vue do rise again and don't have to wait as long as Swindon had to to win the league again or even put together a competitive team.

Considering the situation with Batch and Peterborough, I don't think Swindon have a strong case for pushing on this if Leicester only want him on loan. Clubs can't have it both ways! If Leicester want to transfer him though then that's a different matter and Leicester should pay the going rate for a top #1 and SGP rider

I don't think that promoters have realised yet that the well is drying up - and you can't keep on expecting the hardcore supporters to shell out more and more for a continually weakened product. Before anyone mentions that it's only £1 - that's not the point. We all know it should be a £10 sport but year on year it never happens and then clubs fold and still they wonder why people aren't turning up!

Why would Lakeside worry about Redcar? If they hadn't bought him then Redcar would have had first dibs - how is that fair when they don't even have him as an asset? Only in speedway would the second division take priority over the top division - absolute bonkers!!

Season tickets on sale and none of the 1-5 have been announced - I think they've got that the wrong way round - although they are expecting to announce the first signing this week!

What this means for Richard and Lakeside is that he either goes EL full time or Lakeside will not have first call on his services if there is a clash with his PL club.
