You are of course entitled to your opinion but on a 6+ average he certainly isn't a terrible rider. He isn't the rider he once was but is still capable of scoring points - once he gets his head clear.

Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
Steve0 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sometimes in life you have to make sacrifices to achieve your goals. To be the best in the world, Woffy is sacrificing the EL (his last season in 2014 shows how much he was struggling here) and I think that is the right thing for him. Shame we can't see him here on a regular basis and will only see him in the SGPs and SWC (if you have BT Sport) but I can live with that to see him representing GB at the highest level. -

Common sense prevails re: Robbo. No problem with Bates covering for Newman. -

Surely the rules insist that there are 2 FTRs in the team - whether they are riding at heat leader or not?? -
Seems like the FTR rules have changed too? You don't need to be on the list!

Wow - so Poole really do have 4 HLs (3 of which were/are recent #1s), a great second string (BKR) and two of the best reserves in the EL. Just give them the trophy now!

I think he was just touchy about the previous reply. -

Ever thought of a job in management? A bit of compassion, empathy and understanding wouldn't go amiss! -

Eh? There is no way Richie Worrall would have scored what they got from RR. The problem in the rules is in the FTR department! -

In the first 5 heats - this is the Swindon team I expected to see this year - not the poor imitation we have these last few meetings. Still time for it to go Pete Tong but at least they have started riding to their potential! -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
Steve0 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So you are embarrassed that you are fine with him not wanting to ride in the UK - you'll get over it! I think you will find that the majority support him no matter what is posted on social media - if you don't believe me - wait until Cardiff! There is no 'supposedly' about - he IS British and its your prerogative who you support but a 2x World Champion in a longer series of SGPs suggests he is someone special as a speedway rider - whether you like him or not! -

For the record Scotland is part of GB but I understand your analogy! -

Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
Steve0 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There is a lot of bull rubbish written on this thread. Like him or not - he is the world champion, is British and is doing what is good for him and his family. So what if he doesn't race in the UK! How many riders do you know that have done so much for charity over several years? Yup - just the one - Tai Woffinden. What a great ambassador for the sport and a genuinely nice person too!- 601 replies

I honestly don't think anyone expected an FTR to move to a HL role in one move. I think it shows how poor the Swindon team have performed that Wright will now be a second heat leader. Of course it is stupid and it certainly won't help with his development - especially when the guy who replaced him at reserve gets one of his rides. It shows how shockingly Ill-conceived the whole FTR process is and a total lack of foresight!
