  1. Yes there is - they are both Friday night clubs so it wouldn't have been allowed !
  2. Yes but apart from this season Cook has always ridden in the PL. it was only his ambition that forced him to look to Poland and therefore drop PL from his schedule - I'm sure Edinburgh fans were gutted! However, it hasn't worked out in Poland so I cannot see anything wrong with him rejoining the PL. Good luck to him I say.
  3. I commented earlier that it was stupid that Cook's move to Peterborough had been blocked - I didn't realise that both BV and Peterborough race on a Friday night! So it isn't as stupid as I initially thought and I was wrong!
  4. Can hardly hear the shouty twins for the music!!
  5. New co-owners at Swindon http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2667 And here... http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/14468348._Robins_looking_to_learn_from_Wildcats_/?ref=rss&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
  6. So how come a Tier 1 EDR can replace a Tier 2 EDR??
  7. It is pretty clear if you view him as a Tier 2 EDR - which he is. The only muddying of the waters is when they are in the 1-5 and then all of a sudden people forget he is still an EDR and are trying to manipulate getting any rider whose average fits. If it is anyone other than a suitable EDR (or PL average less than Ellis) then they may as well just admit that they are a useless organisation!
  8. Each team has to have two FTRs - so if one is injured, he is replaced by another - surely!
  9. Looks like the right Swindon team turned up. Get in there you Roobins!
  10. Fishing again. As an FTR, you can replace with another FTR or a lower averaged PL rider (assuming they don't have an EL average higher than him)
  11. Inspired tactical ride decision by Middlo - give it to someone who has failed to score in his first two rides and he finishes in third! Lol Bjarne not showing that he is better than Watt in this one!
  12. So if tomorrow's meeting is postponed, I assume it will be an NL guest as I thought you couldn't have a facility for a rider unless he has already ridden for you.
  13. That'll be Magic that didn't make it out of the semis and Tai who finished 4th on the night!
  14. Depends which Swindon team turn up. If the one that beat BV and Coventry then Swindon should edge it. However, if it's the other team that was slow out the gates then it will be a Bees win. I think it I'll be the former - Charles, Josh and Rohan should be on a high with their PL results.
  15. Well done Woffy - to finish 4th on the night was a good result. Holder blew the win with Robins 1 and 2 leading him home. All 4 rode well and should have a good series
  16. It's fine buying tickets online but will they ever have a home meeting
  17. Totally agree with your post. If he doesn't want to ride in the UK - he doesn't have to ride in the UK and no amount of posturing by some so called "fans" will make him change his mind. He has made the right decision for him and his family and I respect that and wish him all the success he deserves.
  18. Flagrag works for sky I think - at least that's how he comes across
  19. Bjerre would be more than justified in giving them the two finger salute.
  20. BV - the way they do business?? They have been at the bottom end of the table for most of the last 10 years and are only getting a resurgence (temporary until the novelty wears off?) because of the new stadium. The problem appears to be that the other teams don't have the resources (i.e money) to compete and when they do try they either end up in the PL (Ipswich) or out of business (Brmingham) or the NL (Eastbourne and Birmingham) - even Swindon had to be bailed out a few years ago! So I am NOT agreeing with you and the league will only get smaller and smaller until Poole will be champions of Poole! Poole's business model is good for Poole but sadly not for the rest of the league.
  21. You need to see the bigger picture and I don't think it's jealousy. Poole are a successful club - of that there is no doubt. However, crowds are going down all over the country and the "I'm alright Jack" attitude will only work as long as there are still clubs in existence to compete against. There is a question mark over Coventry, Lakeside seem to have resolved whatever issues they had over the winter and Swindon need to get the new stadium built before people move into the houses in the pits. The trouble is crowds have gone down significantly everywhere (except Poole and BV), so if any clubs fold, who are Poole going to race against? The BSPA need to come up with a plan (better than the last one which diluted the league year on year and drove the crowds away) that will re-energise the sport and they have shown that they do not have the skills to do it - so unless they solve this speedway will continue to die on its @rse and Poole fans will still be saying "Aren't we the greatest" when in fact all they are is the best of a bad lot! You are a caring soul - aren't you!
