I watched the last round of the Aussie championship this morning, Cairns rode in support and had 1 ride in the meeting, what has he done to his face? looked a right mess
I spoke with one of the guys about 2 weeks ago and the answer was still no and yes the BSPL have approached them.
This is why 2 of the guys went off and set up the Kent Eagles at Iwade.
Its been 4 years now since speedway ran at Arlington, the track is now down to its base and all the equipment would need to be replaced including a new fence so even if the nod was given, it would be a substantial amount of money just to get to tapes.
Train up local riders in the hope of making them professional speedway riders..
If all clubs took this attitude we wouldn't be producing any riders for the future.
No, they've signed him for the greater good of Poole speedway, they are not training and developing riders for the grater good of British speedway or the riders themselves.
Was it that good though? I remember Michael Lee failing to turn up at Eastbourne to face Gordon Kennett and rode in another fixture, possibly abroad, can't remember now.
Watched him as a junior at Eastbourne, had that broken leg which had a lot of complications, he lost his Mum from an early age, I Sponsored him in his early days and went through the Eastbourne times when he didn't get paid, like all riders, by Ian Jordan.
You could tell as a junior, he was a talent.
