  1. Glad that Emil is not too bad, awful crash that could have been far worse.
  2. This is on BSN I think? Weather report for all us southern softies?
  3. How did Kyle Newman's replacement, Patrick Beak, look?
  4. You have to feel sorry for riders like Kyle Newman, only riding in one league his season has been fragmented and never really got going. You can't expect a rider to get going with such large gaps in his racing calendar, good rider with still a lot to offer the sport.
  5. I have a few memorable meetings but my first is Eastbourne V hull in the early 80's I had been to a few meetings at Arlington since 1976 but was really young so don't remember that much. I went to Arlington still as a kid with friends on our bicycles to watch Eastbourne V Hull. Prompted by my mates I went and got a few autographs in the pits before the start, going back to my mates I asked 'Who was that?' That's Ivan Mauger was the reply.. I was hooked from heat 1, GK scored a full max, Kelly Moran and Paul Woods also went unbeaten in a 48-30 win. The rest for me is history, sometimes it's not the magnitude of the meeting but what it means at a personal level.
  6. Steve was not having a dig about the venue, I live in Brighton so I can't make it in person so I pay my money to discovery+ hoping that filters down to the sport in a small way. And about your dig about the lack of tracks in the south, call yourself a fan of the sport? I, along with others have tried our best to get the sport back to Arlington and I know our friends at Lakeside have done the same.
  7. Yes they do but don't wright the lad off as just a throttle jockey, he has a lot of potential, how far he will go will depend on a lot of factors but he does have a lot going for him.
  8. good people will always try to find the best in people, no idea if this is true but keep being like the rest of us, a good solid person..
  9. Three Eastbourne trained riders and another ex Eagle, just saying..
  10. Both Hailsham lads so more than likely but I know David is..
  11. David Norris is advising him.
  12. Agree, but I will be cheering for the lads with the Eagles connections, Ablitt, Foord and Hagon..
  13. For information, it was 8th July 1983, England won 65-43
  14. Legal & General do a lot of construction work, they own CALA homes and do developments such as the one I'm involved in which is a retirement complex with a nursing home, village core and cottages, if they get their hands on it they will build on it in some form. They do a lot more than insurance and finance.
  15. Eastbourne fan and only went to Hackney a few times when I was younger and not in the last few years at the track. The outstanding memory for me was going up to see Paul Woods for an England V Denmark meeting, Woodsy was a non riding reserve and didn't get an outing. What caught my eye was a certain Michael Lee, think he got 16 + 1 from 6 rides, he was unbelievable that night.
  16. Having sponsored Kyle from his Eastbourne days and through his Poole and now Plymouth time, That comment got me. Yes I shouldn't have bitten on that post but it did get me. Im sure the poster was only jesting, so no harm meant by the original post, lets move on now..
  17. No it's not, it's an accusation of cheating by both club and rider.
  18. I don't post accusations of clubs paying off riders to score Low points to throw a meeting if that's what you mean.
  19. Is it? You want to be very careful what you post on a public forum..
  20. Upto heat 8 and yes your both right, cracking meeting but can't believe the heat 4 call by the ref..
