I watched Kelly for two seasons at Eastbourne in his prime, what that guy could do on a bike most could only dream of. Bob Dugard stopped him drinking for a short while, took control of his money and gave him pocket money, he was virtually unbeatable during that time but then went back to his 'fun' lifestyle..
I think he can go far in the sport too, was on a new engine Thursday, glad he is being looked after at Sheffield because he is a top lad with bags of potential..
I have noticed this, even with Sheffield winning and in control he only seems to get 3 rides apart from 1 meeting. Hopefully with the new gear he is on he can get some more track time and prove to be a good investment for Sheffield in the future..
Eastbourne was purposely built for speedway with the stock car track added later, started the speedway track in 1929 with Charlie Dugard taking full control in 1935.
I completely disagree with this, Georgie's performance at Kent on Monday was down to mechanical gremlins and a complete one off for this season.
I think the time is right for him to start to move up and the greater experience he gains in the championship is exactly what he needs right now and will improve him as a rider and his national league form if anything.
He's more than capable of scoring points in the championship and he has done well to earn an opportunity to race at a higher level and I expect it will be the start of a good career for him at a level higher than National.
