If you look at a speedway rider as a basic buisness model it becomes simple with the needs. Look at it as a basic XYZ X Turnover Y Expense Z profit Rider needs to make a lot of X to pay Y in order to make Z Reduce Y and then X can be reduced so Z can still be achieved Reduce X then wages will be reduced and clubs can be sustainable with a wage bill they can afford. Reducing rider costs is a way forward in my mind.

He was spot on, the way it could be done is to limit the RPM on engines to make them more suitable for uk tracks and thus limit service intervals for engines. Engines won't need to be tuned like they are with a rev limit, cutting costs to riders and the bikes will be suited far more to our unique tracks that we have built due to the stadia we have worked with. I think it would be worth looking at but it will go against what the rest of the world in speedway is going with so I very much doubt it will ever be considered.
-
And how do you work that out may I ask?
-
Which one, Edinburgh?
-
People may laugh but most tracks in the UK are not suited to the modern super tuned laydown engines..
-
Would it suprise you?
-
Yeah I was.. The new track looks a bit iffy with it being so close the the stand, its right on the outside of turns 3 & 4

As I said, no predictions, but the Eagles do have a bit of history in league 2

Just stand a policeman behind him at the starting gate, he will be gone like a shot...

I think thats the most important part with Eastbourne, the word team A forward thinking promotion that has built a team on and off track that values its fan base and wants to improve that and communicates so well with the fans they feel valued by the club Way to early to make predictions but looking good, on and off track.

Tom Brennan?
-
Hope he scores more than that to be fair..

I jest of course.. Many ex UK riders do this behind the scenes for our youth and in my opinion youth wise, we are starting to move forward. We are starting to show the signs of this, its a long term programme that was implemented a few years back that is starting to show a few good prospects and in the future, a few more I hope..

Very interesting

British speedway youth policy in full swing.

He's said he's only looking to double UP when he's settled so...

Its not Kings Lynn!
-
I cant see that, hes a body builder and has bulked up a lot since he rode, chunky is not the word...
-
It will be interesting to see if we can keep our 1-7, if so, we will have a very strong season...
-
I thought plan B was to hope plan A works?
-
Too many clubs would not agree. For example you have sent Eastbourne, one of the better and most proactive run clubs, down to a semi pro league but offered their declared 1-7 as available to the top league. Poole, Somerset, Leicester and far too many clubs would be insulted with this.

Yes, the stock car track at Arlington is on the outside of the speedway track and after the stadium is used for speedway it needs to be left ready for a stock car meeting, fence wise. Cutting a 12" ditch for a safety fence is not an option for obvious reasons. Arlington goes into tier 4 on the 26th, can we see that lifted by easter? I have my doubts..

The money has dropped in Sweden, so racing in the UK, although riding more meetings will be more profitable. Clubs need to play hard ball with riders but there is an opportunity for the UK to leapfrog over Sweden to become the second most attractive league for riders. IF we get it right and thats a BIG IF..
